The placebos not fancy but clean. The food was really good. I got the "Create your own" platter with fried shrimp, scallops and oysters. The oysters were so sweet! The platters also came with a potato and coleslaw and hush puppies. All wonderful for about $19. I was stuffed!! The waitress was so friendly and did everything to make sure we were well attended to. Would definitely recommend!!

I have always loved their salad and jumbo shrimp. The salad was so different that it might have come out of a vending machine... not good and obviously not fresh. The shrimp were not as large as always before. And they had destroyed the shrimp sauce (which was even worse. The sauce is a major factor in how good the shrimp tastes. It was obviously watered down, too much horseradish to cover it up, and ANY brand (even the cheapest) off a grocery store shelf would have been much better. I was so disappointed that both items that I drove 20 minutes for had been noticeably changed and not worth going back for. Even the service failed. After assuring me that I could finish my salad before turning in my order, my food appeared before my salad was half eaten. Having to voice this negative report is almost as bad as losing my favorite place to eat.

I felt it was a decent price point for the experience. It also came out quick. The drink menu was vast, too. We ordered the weekend special in juicey and mild. It was very saucy but lacked flavor depth. I did taste and see the seasoning on the peices of corn tough. So, I know it was seasoned. I'm not sure what was used as a base. It didn't taste like butter. We tried the onion rings and mini crab cake (balls). The onion rings were lightly fried but still good. I usually prefer them darker. I still enjoyed the bite. Now, those crab cake (balls) were bomb. They were surprisingly good. I was so apprehensive when they were placed down. I was expecting a traditional crab cake. They were coated and fried but generously seasoned and oh so moist. They were delectable on their own but the sauce elevated them tremendously as I love sweet and spice. So cute, loved the decor. Huge establishment, very spacious. The back lighting was really nice. I like the cute Honeycomb design on the booths.

We were seated and our server was Azariah who was a mannerable, super professional and courteous young lady. We ordered peach and mango margaritas along with oysters for an appetizer. We decided on the lobster, crab and shrimp boils for our entrees and added 1/2 lbs of crawfish to mine and clams to my Mom's boil. The food and service was AMAZING!! We had a great experience and look forward to returning and definitely asking to sit in Azariah's section. Oh, I should've taken a pic before I began to devour my delicious food, sorry lol

The ambiance was absolutely perfect, and the music complemented the experience beautifully without being overwhelming. The food was phenomenal. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and melted in my mouth. Paired with the perfectly prepared lobster tail, it made for an unforgettable meal. The whipped potatoes were incredibly creamy and delicious, and the lemon pound cake was the perfect sweet ending to dinner. I also have to rave about the watermelon margarita--it was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and one of the best margaritas I've had. The service was outstanding from start to finish. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. If you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse with amazing food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere, Mercantile Chophouse is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back!

What a great experience overall on our first visit to The Mercantile Chophouse. We were celebrating…read morea birthday and had six people in our group. We were seated promptly for our Friday night, 6:30pm reservation. Tables were well spaced and never felt cramped. We only ordered the bread basket, You Knead This, as an appetizer; opting for salads to start the meal. The Merc, The Chopped and The Grilled Caesar were liked by all. I personally had the Chopped and it had a great mix of texture and flavors with candied pecans, pickled onions, mandarin oranges and a sweet poppyseed dressing. All six of us ordered steaks, two ribeyes, three filets and one sirloin. All were cooked perfectly ranging from rare to well done. They were well seasoned and most of us chose the Gorgonzola Bacon Butter which was a nice addition. The Brussel Sprout appetizer is a huge crowd favorite, but the side dish is only charred. However, you can request that they prepare them the same way as the appetizer. They were delicious and so were the Au Gratin Potatoes, which were baked in their own little metal crock. Dessert finished up with a Key Lime Crème Brûlée that was delicately flavored with a light touch of lime. We also had a Brownie Sundae that was delicious as expected. Customer service was on point from the greet to the farewell and everything in between. Overall a truly flawless experience.
