Random exit off the freeway and found this gem. Featuring a daily buffet, working people flock to enjoy fried fish, fried chicken and pulled pork. Lots of sides. Cobbler. Kind and friendly staff. Good country food and atmostphere.

wow, what can I say. I really wanted to like this place, decor is interesting, it's clean and has live music but I just can't. Four of us sit down to dinner at 5:30, food didn't come out until almost 7. Both orders of pulled pork were cold to the touch and the brisket (see picture) had more fat than meat, and looked like it had been cooked to death in its own grease. Also, no hush puppies. In fairness, our waitress was extremely apologetic and took the three entrées off the bill. Manager never showed up despite the request. On the way out, you could see the staff stacked up in the kitchen apparently all waiting on things that may or may not ever come out ... McDonald's across the street would be a better choice.

This appears to be the hotspot of Hillsville Virginia. When we walked in we were the only customers there. By the time we finished the place was filling up. And for good reason!! There's some real southern cooking on this menu. The turnip greens, real macaroni and cheese, cabbage with ham! Meatloaf, beef liver, all sorts of deliciousness. I chose the buffet, because I couldn't decide what I wanted... I ate it all, from the salad and all the toppings, to the fried fish to the fried apples. If you ever make it to Hillsville, definitely stop at Fiddler's.

Meh. I'd dined at Shoney's before and was hesitant on trying out Fiddler's until a little time had passed after the rebranding. I was kind of surprised to walk in and see that not much AT ALL has changed. New tabletops, a few wall murals, and a different name are all that really set them apart from the original Shoney's. That being said, the menu was impressive and had lots to offer. They have gluten free sandwich and pasta options, along with traditional southern cooking. The sidewinder fries were the best thing we ate- a thick cut French fry swirled and deep fried, super good. I ordered the blackened chicken dinner with baked apples and fries. The blackened chicken was seasoned well, but I had eaten a few bites before I noticed that the chicken was not cooked all the way through... the baked apples were fresh apple slices but I'm pretty sure I was served their apple pie filling in a dish lol. It was thicker and more gelatinous than traditional baked apples. Honestly, I won't be back. Everything was okay and they're just too pricey for what you receive.

We had a large crowd on a Friday night at a family reunion and the Resturant really helped see us and provided us a great place to enjoy a family dinner. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese sandwich and it was surprisingly awesome. They had an amazing dinner and salad bar, which looked really great as well. Great place to pull off of the interstate to have a nice meal.

Travelling along , we saw the sign for Fiddlers restaurant & decided to stop. I'm so glad we did. We were warmly welcomed along with our rescue pup . We all enjoyed a delicious meal. I had my first slice of Kentucky Bourbon pie it was delicious! Victoria was excellent & attentive in her service . I appreciated the water for my pup. We love music & were delighted to learn of the music played here. I hope & pray our travels bring us here again. Thank you & God bless Ya'll Pr. Michelle Free 24/7 prayer line: 866-987-7729

Food is okay, but the service needs work. The price is too high for most folks. The buffet is well stocked.

A limited a la carte menu with a buffet of fried items. Service was hampered by lack of employee coverage. I would not return

Great food, particularly the fried chicken, and the servers went above and beyond. I cannot recommend this more highly.

I was caught off guard when my friend walked up the stairs to the house because from initial appearance, I wouldn't have thought this was the restaurant! Upon walking in, the host greeted us and told us his name was Dan and that he was the owner of the restaurant! It was really cool to see that the owner is truly passionate about his restaurant and will show up to put in the work, even during the later hours. In terms of the food, I went with the Hungry Hokie which was a mashed potato bowl with with bits of meatloaf and chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese. It also came with a biscuit or cornbread, I opted in with the cornbread. The food was absolutely hearty and had pretty good flavor! The one wish that I had was that it came in a bigger portion as it didn't fully fill me up. If I was in town again, I'd definitely consider going back to try the other items on the menu!

He made sure everything was perfect! We started off with the Cheese Sticks with both ranch dressing and marinara sauce! The marinara sauce was really good! The ranch dressing was too watered down for my taste!!! The cheese sticks were hot and fresh! Very gooey and good! He ordered the 13 Bones burger with fries. The burger had amazing flavor! The fries were a bit too salty, but they were perfectly cooked and served hot! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with their homemade chips! I ordered an extra side of dressing for both my sandwich and the chips. I just cannot rave enough about how amazing my entire meal was! Those chips were PERFECT!!!! Already looking forward to our next visit! Most Sincerely, Dayla

It was very cold where we were sitting and the server allowed us to move to a warmer spot. We ordered a fried mushroom appetizer. This was very good. They came with ranch and I think it was the horseradish sauce. The orangish sauce was very good. I ordered 1/2 rack of dry ribs with mac & cheese and green beans, and 2 hushpuppies. You get a choice of Texas toast, hushpuppies, or rolls. My coworker ordered salmon. When the food came out, my ribs were wet. I told the server that I had ordered dry rub. He stated they were dry but had sauce on them. I'm sorry, that is not a "dry rib", in my opinion. The first piece of rib meat I ate was soft and juicy. The next two were super dry and I could not eat any more of them. My coworker joked that that was probably what they were referring to when they said "dry rub". The green beans were ok. I added a ton of pepper and some hot sauce. I saved the mac & cheese for lunch the next day. The hushpuppies were dense and needed a little more flavor. My coworker commented that her salmon was ok but nothing to write home about. I should have went with my first instinct and ordered from the kids menu. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is nice.

The hardest part was choosing a drink from the aptly named, southern inspired menu. Should I have the Hell in a Handbasket, Mama's Switch, or a That'll do Pig? You can't go wrong. Sized were much larger than expected and priced far below similar type restaurants we have patronized in larger towns. For dinner, I had the filet, medium rare, and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. That shouldn't make a restaurant stand out, but based on recent experiences, it was a delight. Dessert was a hot bread pudding accompanied by vanilla ice cream. Superb. Stop by this gem of a place if you are in the area. Lots of cute shops nearby, too.

It was a bit busy so we expected a slight delay on drinks/food, but our server kept checking on us every few minutes and kept our drinks full. The atmosphere/design is very unique and offers great talking points for the table. You can look around and always find something new you haven't seen before. For food, I got the French dip, my husband got the fried catfish, and mom got the smash burger. Food was EXCELLENT. The au jus from the French dip was not overly salty as I've had in the past, and it was the perfect amount for the sandwich. Not like other places that will either give you a big tub of au jus or ever a small saucer cup. After lunch, we walked around as they have a shopping area inside with soaps, handmade pottery/kitchenware, and local vendor products such as hatch chile cream cheese and pickled vegetables. Price was very favorable too and didn't seem to be overly priced where the business/vendor up charges significantly to make a huge profit. Definitely worth stopping by even if you only have time for Togo coffee, a snack, of just to shop around!
