I used to go here with my mom whenever we were in town and there were a lot of options. I stoped in tonight because I wanted chinese and having been on the road all day with nothing to eat figured a buffet was the best bang for my buck. The selections were much fewer and a lot greasier than they had been in the past and despite being a fairly busy Thursday at peak dinner hours turnover was fairly slow and many items had been out for a while and not restocked. The place has gone downhill a bit from what it had been before what I understand to be changing hands several times. It filled me up but the food was nothing special and I dont think ill be going back unless something big changes. I miss how it used to be, it used to be a small hidden gem of a buffet but perhaps in this economy that just cant be expected to last. But the price was fairly reasonable and I may have just hit it at a bad time. Caveat emptor, but I wouldnt bring my friends here if tonight was an example of normal service. On the bright side, the hibachi chicken, general Tso's chicken and pepper steak were all surprisingly good, though the sushi seemed like it had been out for a while and i doubt my cat would go for it. read more

Noticeably old, dingy, unkept building. Sanitation score was 92.5. Found many of the plates and bowls were not washed properly, still had bits of food and residue stuck on them.. Food was less than desirable taste-wise. Decent selection. But would not come back. read more

Perhaps a more up to date building would help. But it is always clean when i have visited. My visits have been good experiences with good food and and service for a reasonable price. China Buffet? Shanghai Buffet? Supreme Buffet? They're all this place and as of today, the sign out front is Asian Buffet. Two steam tables, one salad table, some very picked over sushi. On a Sunday afternoon, I was able to put together two plates of mostly protein with little sauce and little carbs. Oh, they do have lots of noodles and a pork fried rice that looked really good, but I skipped those. Ice cream is available for dessert but you can not take it to go. The worst Chinese food I have had in my entire life. Nothing good to say about any of the food. Not sure how they can even call it Chinese food. Go to Golden China in Dobson for much better food! We'll worth the drive. read more

Restaurant was clean and spacious and the wait staff was courteous and prompt. The buffet had a wide variety of dishes as well as a salad and dessert bar. The food was good and we had plenty of it! The buffet was well stocked with fresh refills often during the lunch rush. I found that the food and cleanliness to be better than expected based on the reviews I read on yelp. I would go again. I don't know much about Elkin but for a small town in the south it's always nice to get some decent asian food. read more

I'm leaving 1 Star because I have to in order to post a review. For starters the noodles I got from the "hot" bar were cold. The rest of the food was barely edible. They advise sushi but in reality it's only a tray of California rolls. (Which is not sushi.) My husband and I each got one plate and didn't even eat the majority of it because what should have been hot wasn't and what should have been cold wasn't. The icing on the cake was that we paid $13 each for a meal that was horrible! Save yourself time and money...go to McDonalds. read more

Blamed it on their cleaning crew. 7 months later....still haven't been back they still have a roach infestation and the public sanitation inspection grade has dropped to a B. If I had the option for 0 stars I wouldn't have selected 1. Been several times and it has been bad each time. Arrived during lunch and because we were there through the end of the lunch period they charged us for supper prices. I complained to the manager but conveniently enough no one there spoke any English. Will not go back. read more

Food is what you'd expect from a Chinese buffet in a small NC town. Good selection of food but the dessert and fruit tables have more game than the Chinese tables. The chicken contained gristle and fat...gag. The ambiance is lacking and not very inviting with hard wood booths but the worst thing was the service...or lack thereof. Wait staff were almost rude and not very attentive. Our waters were empty for quite some time...I called it "Chinese Water Torture". This place just isn't worth the money. Find an established Chinese restaurant nearby before settling for this one. read more
