2025 August 20, 17:37 Elkin NC Update: As I often do.. I circle around to establishments that i have already reviewed to see what changes have taken place. The food on the menu has changed. Which is to be expected from time to time. Old favorites leaving and new explorations showing up. I was a particular fan of the fried dumplings and broccoli and beef items. Both of which are now gone The dumplings they now serve just do not replace the exciting flavors of the old. The new being bland and nothing to write home about. The basil fried rice was also changed. Dry and bland, lacking the excitements of flavor it once had. The customer service is as good as always. But with the current change i am not as thrilled with the loss of their exclusive flavors which once permeated the food. read more

I ordered Basil fried rice with chicken. Dish comes, no sign of basil, no aroma, just lots of green pepper, broccoli and onion in rice with an over powering flavor of green pepper. I asked the waiter and his response was "we are out of basil". How about you tell someone you are out of the main ingredient of a dish, especially when that ingredient is actually in the name of the dish. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch during my first visit to Elkin. I really enjoyed the Panang Curry Chicken and spring rolls. My Panang curry was rich and creamy with perfectly cooked vegetables. The spring rolls were skillfully rolled and were very fresh. The menu had all our favorite traditional Thai items, we can't wait to stop in for dinner. Our server was polite and everything came out very quickly. I have a feeling they do a great job with to go orders. Will be back soon! read more

There food is consistently good. A nice variety and they serve beers and wine. The special wine for nite was pear or plum sake. This has turned out to be my fave Thai place for there flavorful wonton soup. You must try a bowl or a hotpot of it. The Thai salad was excellent as well, a light but filling meal in itself. This is my favorite local food. Sometimes we eat in, there is a decent selection of craft and Asian beer and wine, but it is a very small dining room. Mostly we get takeout, and my entree is always enough for the next day's lunch. My daughter and I like their tofu and veggie basil rolls. I order lots of different things - fried rice, dishes with white rice, and all the noodle dishes. They will also make substitutions if you ask, and requests like "no egg" are always met. **I believe the name of this restaurant has changed to Prime Thai. I never expected to find such good Thai food in a small town like Elkin. We started off having the delicious fresh vegetable basil roll (what some places call the summer roll) with a rich peanut sauce. Yum! It was perfect for two and extremely fresh. I ordered a Thai Iced Tea and it was delicious. We then enjoyed the papaya salad. The flavor was tasty and bright but we found it strange that it came on a bed of iceberg lettuce. That detracted from the dish a bit. For the main course we had the Seafood combo green curry. It was awesome. The only thing was that the scallops were missing (and we weren't told about it), but it really did not alter the flavor. So good! Also, the prices are typical for Thai food. Overall reasonably priced and delicious. We just moved to town and this will be one of our regular stops. read more
