Pho ga.
Mike W.

A small, quiet, and decidedly old-school Thai restaurant that doesn't disappoint. Older owner waiting the tables, soft instrumental music in the background, faded posters and Thai bric-a-brac . . . just all the signs of a good, solid, yet humble dining experience. They are known for their pho as well as their actual Thai dishes and I got the pho ga and it was very good. No frills, nothing updated it seems much since maybe the 1990s, a large menu (which I'm wary of most places but not atypical for Thai restaurants) and for lunch my pho was even served with a side of a Thai soup which rivaled the pho in taste and a very good spring roll. Fair prices, very good quality--I'll certainly return if I happen to again be in the area.

My plate of Sesame Chicken and my Wife's choice of dish (not sure)

I've loved everything that I've eaten there. It's a hidden gem in Statesville I'd say. I recommend the sesame chicken and fried rice. I also get mushrooms and broccoli as the vegetable. They even have Thai beer. Lots of great food to choose from on the menu.

Learned about this place on Yelp. Absolutely some of the best Thai food I've had. We stopped for lunch and it was virtually empty inside. I don't get it! Clean as a button in there, fast and kind service and delicious food. Maybe we just got lucky. The Thai tea is out of this world good. Good enough to be considered dessert. Which is why I suspect you find it in the dessert section of the menu. In this instance, completely warranted. For appetizers we had the fried dumplings which were filled with marinated ground chicken, carrots, water chestnuts and onion and served with a sweet soy sauce. So darn good! We also had spring rolls with our lunch specials. Amazing! Made fresh, not frozen and you can tell the difference. Our entrees were incredibly flavorful. The Pad Gra Pow was so fresh and chock full of veggies. The sesame chicken was fried perfectly and not tough at all. The sauce wasn't overly sweet either. Both very good representations of the dish. If you are in Statesville, look up this hidden gem!

Pho & Pad Thai

Stopped by for lunch and glad we went here. We ordered seafood Pad Thai and beef Pho. While waiting, they served us complimentary chicken & rice soup and a spring roll on the side, which was a surprise and appreciated. The entrees were both on point and the portions were plenty. The owners were very friendly and took care of us really well. The inside is very clean and so were the restrooms. We will definitely come here again when we're near Statesville. We would eat here at least once a year if we lived closer. It's a gem of a find!

The food was fresh and tasty. Served Thai beer which was awesome as well. Ambiance was average but the food & friendly staff made up for it. I travel on business and try to find local eateries with great food and I found it here. If you like spicy and asian food, give this a chance. If I was local I would eat here once a week

Went out of our way to visit. The hype was not there. Average ambiance and food. The staff was very nice though! We won't go back

I went with my family, party of 6 for our annual Christmas dinner. Every year, we picked a…read moredifferent restaurant to go to. Thai Lotus was the place we chose for this year. The place seemed cozy and quiet and the waitress was nice. However, when we received our food, I was very disappointed. The food that we ordered was okay but the portions were so little. We ordered like 8-10 different plates of food. How do you expect to feed 6 people when it's only enough for 4. Come on...It's almost like you have to order double and it's not cheap. As for the food, we didn't like much of the taste. When you are Asian, you know what good food is. For instance, I had the Tom Yum Soup. It didn't taste quite like Tom Yum Soup and the same goes for the Pork Curry. The whole time that we were eating there, my wife and I still think that Jin's Buffet by Walmart, should've been a better choice. Oh well, I guessed you have to learn from your mistake. After dinner, it's funny, the waitress asked if we would like some boxes for our left over food. I'm like, no we're good. What left over food...? My advice for customers: If you have never had Asian Food, you might think that this place is a good place to eat. However, if you did have Asian Food elsewhere you would know the differences when it comes to taste. Maybe you don't care, that's your business. I respect that. I'm just letting you know. My advice for the owner: Please be aware of the people you served. You can't serve 6-10 people like you would 2-4. You can't be greedy when it comes to food. People like it when you give them a lot of food. Your customers will be coming back even if the food isn't that great. As for me and my family, it would be a long time before we ever come back to Thai Lotus....

A friend and I ate lunch at Monsoons today because of all the great reviews. Not really sure…read morewhether these reviewers have ever eaten in a real Thai place, but I was not impressed. You order the food and pay for it and then they bring it to your table. The man who took our order was extremely rude and nasty. He was so busy watching the television that he could barely take our order and when we asked him questions, he barked at us to look at the booklet with the pictures. I almost walked out right then, but since we were there, I held my displeasure in and I thought OK well hopefully the food will be better. I had Pad Thai and my friend had drunken noodles. My Pad Thai was basically noodles with peanut bits in it. Not any type of peanut sauce like it's supposed to have. It was tasteless and disgusting. But the portion was huge. So if people just want a plate full of noodles that have no taste then I guess this is the dish for you My friend who had never eaten Thai food before liked her drunken noodles with broccoli. So I guess if you have never eaten Thai food, you might really like the huge portions they give you. But for those people that have eaten at a Thai restaurant before will know that this is not real Thai food. No spices. No sauce. No taste. Will I ever be back? No, I will not.
