Everything I have had has been excellent! Fresh vegetables and everything cooked to perfection

First time ordering from here, had it delivered through DoorDash. Very seamless ordering and delivery process. We tried the General Tso's Chicken entrees with added broccoli, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The egg roll is easily one of the best I've ever tasted. Super crispy, great flavor! Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was really outshined by the egg roll. The chicken itself was soft, no crispy parts which I definitely missed and sadly there was no spice to it at all. The rice was extremely bland. The broccoli was a bit undercooked and again, no seasoning whatsoever. Considering it was an extra charge to add the vegetable, I wish I would have skipped it. We also had steamed dumplings. They, and the sauce they came with, were both pretty good. Next time we'll try the fried dumplings! The portions are more than enough to be satisfying and have leftovers (the best part) so it still hit the mark for when you're craving takeout. read more

This oddly named Chinese to-go place is just around the corner from our new place. If it was up to me, I'd eat here all the time. The couple times we had delivery, it was because we had just unpacked so much stuff and just could not move. Delivery took minutes from ordering to the food arriving. The first time, we ordered chicken lo mein, and two eggrolls to split. The food was hot and so fresh. I definitely thought it was one of the better lo mein I have ever had. Lots of soft juicy chicken all the way through it. The egg rolls were also very good. Crunchy on the outside, flavorful on the inside. Full of veggies. The next night, I insisted we order again - this time, egg drop soup with spring rolls for me and an egg roll for hubby. Yet again, it was one of the better egg drop soups I have had. The spring rolls were outrageously good. All veggies, fresh and crunchy. All in all, we are very happy with this tiny place and will definitely order again! read more

I always crave chinese food when hungover and this place hit the spot. Ordered the hibachi chicken which came with vegetables and was all extra greasy- i didnt expect anything less . A big plus from other places is their online ordering system. Was real easy to order and the food was ready on time for pick up. Have heard rave comment about this place for years and they were right. This has been on my bucket list for some time but never got around to trying till last month. Had suggest it earlier but never got around to it. It's order in and take out. Not table service and no tables to sit at. Told Valerie and Danielle to order what they wanted and I would pick up and as for myself, I would take the Mongolian Beef with Rice. They ordered the Scallion Chicken. After they ordered, i drove up and they were almost finished putting the order together and by the time I had finished, lunch was ready. Took it back to the office and we all sit down at our desks and enjoyed. Both Danielle and and Valerie enjoyed their lunch and both being light eaters had leftovers to take home or enjoy later. In my case since I am the only one who can comment on the actual cuisine, the Mongolian Beef was some of the best I have had in a long time. Cooked properly with just the exact amount of heat and good contrast in taste and texture with the other ingredients. Well I made a worry free decision to stop in here while in town for a meeting with the rave reviews. I had really high hopes for a down right GOOD Chinese food. I will say the lunch specials are priced well and you get a good bit of food but I was disappointed with the chicken quality in my Kung pao chicken. It has that chewy fatty texture to it that isn't satisfying and makes you feel like your dish had no chicken in it... just this rubber swirly substance. The rice was good and the sauce and veggies had a nice crunch and flavor. Luckily the veggies and rice was filling enough. It was made fresh and hot. I would maybe try another item here if I lived nearby to see if this one dish was a fluke but otherwise it won't be on my list of places to go when in town. read more

This small takeout Chinese place is really good. I feel it doesn't get the attention it deserves because of lack of dining space. There is literally just one small table in the place and I would assume 99% or more of the orders are for takeout only. With that said, the food is always super hot and fresh and the selections are really good. I've had their sesame chicken and sweet & sour chicken and they are both excellent plates. The rice is very fresh and awesome and their spring rolls are better than many I've had at other places. If you're in Statesville or just passing by, it's a great place for takeout and you won't be left hungry! It's a small place next to a Food Lion so it's easy to miss, but the food is worth trying if you're in the mood for Chinese. read more

First time getting Chinese in NC, it was nothing compared to NY Chinese food. Fried rice had an odd taste to it. General Tso's chicken wasn't spicy. Won ton soup didn't have much flavor. read more

Grow green is the best Chinese restaurant in statesville. There is a reason they've been around for nearly 20 years.

My family orders out all the time from this place! I have a big family and it's always made in a timely fashion. They're always so sweet and welcoming when we walk in too! Food is delicious too. Definitely recommend the pot stickers and sesame chicken! read more

I've made many orders at Grow Green over the past few years and it's always consistently good and on time. My favorite dishes are the house lo mein, egg drop soup and sweet and sour soup. The portion-to-price ratio is very good, I can spend ~$25 and have enough food to eat for two days. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for good Chinese take-out. One word of advice I would give is to not use Doordash for delivery, your best bet is to pick-up the food yourself to ensure no errors. read more

Once again, Yelpers pointed us in the right direction. We had been on the road all day, about to settle in for the night at a campground, but didn't feel like cooking. Take out was perfect, and the food was everything we could have asked for. Pleasant counter service, fast, well packaged and hot. We got General Tso chicken, egg rolls (particularly good!), crab Rangoon and pork fried rice. While nothing except the egg rolls was exceptional, I know we didn't order anything unique or that allowed them to stretch their culinary muscles. Highly recommend! We recently had a long road trip and this was one of the only places close to us that was still open. We realized we would get there at 9:50pm and they closed at 10. We called ahead our order at 9:40 just to be sure it was ok and the lady on the phone was super gracious. We got there in time and even though they had started to clean and break down things they restarted a few things for us. I hated being "those people" but we were so wiped and hungry and couldn't do another fast food joint. The wonton soup had dumplings in it and it was some of the most amazing soup and dumplings I've ever had. I highly recommend it! My wife got chicken and broccoli and quickly she commented that it truly was the best chicken and broccoli she ever had and she's had a lot at various places. To be sure it wasn't just that we were in a haze we saved what little bit we had left and ate it for lunch the next day. Then I sat down to write this review! Still amazing today! This was terrible. I paid $18 for some chicken fried rice, egg rolls and dumplings. The chicken fried rice had the TINIEST pieces of chicken I've ever seen, and it was rubbery, like slightly undercooked maybe even. The egg roll was decent, the dumplings were disgusting, the inside was just watery, & had absolutely no flavor, or variety, just some unflavored ground meat. The customer service was also trash, I was trying to place my order and the person on the phone doesn't even wait until I ask my last question to just hang up, truly awful. Super-inexpensive takeout Chinese food seven days a week. Statesville is fortunate to have this little spot for a steal of a deal lunch specials and affordable dinners. Not much else to say, but thought I would post some images of the menu to make ordering easier. I stopped off I-77 on a trip back to Charlotte and will certainly be keeping it in mind for future road trips. The food continues to be delicious and made in giant portions. I'm dropping to 4 stars for 2 reasons, and I hope that both get fixed soon. The last two times I have ordered, I have had to wait for much, much longer than I ever had to previously wait. The quality of the food has been going down for awhile.They keep on getting orders wrong and tonight when I pointed it out they told me I was wrong.I know if hibachi sauce was added to food and it wasn't.They wanted me to drive another twenty minutes for them to remake order.Finally they agreed to re do order then called back and told me I had to bring back meal otherwise they couldn't.I won't be returning as they simply can't get order correctly nor will stand behind their product. read more
