I was really disappointed with the food. We ordered on Sunday shortly before the restaurant opened, and when the food arrived it tasted like it might have been leftover from the previous day. The General Tso's chicken, broccoli, and egg rolls were overcooked, dry, and tough. Because of this experience, I don't plan to order from here again. Food is aight, there is ynot many choices in town so people overrated this place. Portion size and quality is a notch below Panda Express. Why? The breading of the chicken separated and chicken itself is bland so taste like boiled chicken with sweet and sour sauce. Egg rolls are just pink lettuces. I decided to give Rice Fun another try a couple of months ago it did not go well. Scallops with garlic sauce no carrots. Getting home I was ready for dinner only to find out the dish was inedible. The scallops were so overcooked and dry the dish was taken back the next day. 10/8 I wanted Pork with string beans and was informed they "didn't have any beans that they are not really in season". That said ordered Shrimp with Chinese vegetables in a white sauce, Shrimp fried rice and Hot and sour soup. I let Adam know I have a gluten allergy. Getting home discovered there is an egg roll in with my Shrimp fried rice? A phone call was made about this and a conversation about cross contamination. Adam "assumed it was for someone else". The Shrimp and vegetables was ordered with white sauce light carrots. Upon opening this found a lot of broccoli and and carrots with no sauce whatsoever none. The shrimp are overcooked and hard. A second phone call was made I even offered to send a picture. The soup I didn't even bother. Not only am I hungry I get to return the food and waste more time and gas. This is the worst food I have ever ordered. The rice and egg roll were not packaged separately, so when condensation gathered in the plastic lid, everything that was supposed to be crispy-crunchy was limp and soggy. There was little to no sauce, the vegetables were limp like overcooked spaghetti, even the broccoli, and the food was obviously precooked and reheated in a microwave. My order was for sesame chicken. I only found two seeds on one chunk of chicken. Also, be aware that if you want vegetables with your meat and rice, you pay $1-2 per vegetable and receive very little. For example, I added mushrooms and received 3 one quarter chunks of 1 mushroom. And, of course, when I called, no one answered. Money down the drain and food in the trash. Generally Very Good and a Great Value This is one of two Rice Fun locations in the area that I have visited and I must say, this one is my favorite. I normally order the Ginger Chicken and have tried a couple other offering but this one is my favorite. I work less than a 1/2 mile from here so it is very easy to get to and service is fast enough to where I can afford to eat in and not have to resort to take out. The food is always cooked properly with the meat not overcooked and the veggies still maintaining a good crunch. Nice balance between meat and veggies. The other Rice Fun I have been to in Mooresville tends to be a lot heavier on the veggies and skimpy on the Chicken. All in all, it's a good value. Not fancy by any stretch because even the dine in crowd gets served on stryofoam. Still the food is good, served hot and fresh and very efficient. A tale of two meals. The Orange Chicken with steamed rice was fresh, hot, and flavorful. The Spring Rolls were crisp and tasty. The pork lo mein was I edible. The noodles would not stay on the fork, and the pork had zero flavor. For $20 can't expect too much. Staff was efficient and friendly. Since we are traveling, not likely to return. I was an out of stater crashing in the area for the night and needed something to fill my belly after being on the road for 14 hours! Since we were staying at the Hampton Inn across the street, we were not in the mood to venture out and decided to just walk over and get Rice Fun. I ordered the chicken and scallions dish, that came with fried rice and an egg roll. It was pretty good; the chicken was still crispy and the egg roll was typical for Chinese takeout. The fried rice was a bit bland; I guess I'm just used to greasy fried rice from other Chinese restaurants. But, the rice was not dried out like some places. With the egg roll and the chicken, the fried rice seemed a bit healthier. We also ordered the scallops in brown sauce, and there were plenty of scallops in the dish. The prices were pretty good for the amount of food that you get, and this coming from someone who's used to overpriced Chinese fast food up north (LOL). Decent Chinese food. Don't be fooled by the fact that most of the staff is not Chinese; the food is good, though not spectacular. The staff are very efficient and courteous. We were off to a good start with soup; my wife had egg drop; I had hot-and-sour. Both were generous portions and served at just right temperature. Egg rolls were very good. For entree we had General Tso's Chicken and fried rice. Flavors were good, but this chicken must have had a tough life or died a horrible death, because it was stringy and overcooked. This was the first time I have dined here or I should say went for take out. Stayed at a hotel across the street and have for over a year now and decided to try the place. Ordered the orange chicken, the menu says it will be spicy which normally it is but this was not the case. The chicken was big and seemed more fresh then normal fast food Chinese food. The flavor was decent but I like it to have some kick to it and this didn't. The food was hot in temp and that's on par with other places but the chicken was bigger then normal. The prices are super reasonable. I ordered the Orange chicken for $6.25 which included fried rice and an egg roll. Also asked for two bottles of water (all that sodium you need them) and a fountain drink and totaled $10.29. That is super cheap and can't complain anymore about it not being so spicy. The young man asked if I have dined there before and I told him I hadn't, his response was I was in for a treat. Definitely will dine here again if I crave Chinese food again. read more

I'm new to the Moorseville area, and the one thing I search for when I come to town is Chinese food. Unfortunately this place had one chance to gain a loyal customer. Everything my wife and I got was bland and tasteless. No amount of soy or duck sauce could bring the entree back to what it should taste like. Portions were huge, but no flavor. The pan fried dumpling appetizer wasn't bad. Now, the disappointments. This is food court caliber Chinese food. The fried rice was bland. The egg roll was small, but gratefully so, because it was less to throw away. We also got hot and sour soup, which was pretty tasteless, neither hot (spicy) nor sour. It was hot (temp) though. I've always had great experiences with this location. Today, I placed a good size lunch order, 8 orders, for coworkers, and was told I couldn't sub rice with lo mein or fried rice with pork fried rice. Would have gladly paid an up charge for special substitutions but wasn't given the option. I don't think I asked for anything unreasonable, considering it's a standard menu item. Kind of annoying when I can't get what other Chinese restaurants offer. Other places in town, like grow green, will happily allow these types of substitutions so we'll spend our money there from now on. read more
