Jin's is a lovely little buffet in the middle of a 3-4 business strip mall across from the Claremont Walmart. The staff were all very sweet and it seems like a small family based restaurant. Everything was fresh and the soups (I got the hot & sour, two bowls) were piping hot! My only caveat, being a vegetarian, is I wish they had a couple of more veggie friendly and/or tofu dishes on the buffet. read more

The food is okay at times, but I just got freaked out a lot when I saw holes in the wall allowing pests inside. Looks so nasty. We never sat in this booth before so I never knew about this. My boyfriend and I had reservation a few weeks ago to a very lovely restaurant but it truly had nothing on Jin's I'm sure we will be "poopying" on ourselves here shortly because we did eat a disgustingly large amount for only $15!! Oh you absolutely read that right! $15 and you sure do get your bang for your buck!! I would rate it a 6/10 for the "romantic date" atmosphere but overall a 10/10!! We love you Jin read more

Overall taste is great! The chicken wings was deliciously extra crispy even when it's the last thing I ate on my plate and it cold but still crispy! I love the beef and broccoli it's better than hibachi in hickory. It's smaller and not big of an selection as hibachi but the flavors are better. Great ice cream selection, it brings back memories. I don't remember the last time I had a scooter bar... but that was unexpected! When we got here our phones were completely dead and charging in the car. I just went here with a couple friends. 3 buffets and 1 non water for 35 with tax. Incredible value. Their sushi is very fresh. Everything was hot and tasted great. They had a sesame ball that was filled with (maybe) a mild chocolate. Their egg rolls were still hot and crispy. The only downside was the way we seemed to be rushed out when the bill was brought to the table. read more

Walking in it looks pretty decent... we got here around 5:30 pm and it wasn't that busy so we got our seat right away. When we went up to the buffet everything looked clean and all the food was warm. I got the fried rice and some of their chickens to try and everything was really good. I had also gotten some spring rolls which were stale and hard. My mom had gotten some sushi and she says that the inside of the sushi was awful, she says that it had tasted like it had sat for too long. We later got some donuts which we usually love but they were as well stale and hard... Pricing is decently high but not too bad, it was $30 for 2 of us. The workers were extremely nice and kept checking on our drinks and getting our dirty dishes off the table. read more

Great Chinese buffet. They may not be largest buffet you may ever go to, but they still pack lots of items to choose from on their buffet. The food is to notch. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp, and their potstickers/dumplings. Everything I tried seemed better prepared than other Chinese buffets in the area. It's worth stopping in. read more

KICKED OUT of JIN's BUFFET for WRITING my BOOK The only thing I spend money on is eating out, not high on the hog, mind you, but so I don't have to cook and focus on getting this 3rd novel out. I NEVER go anywhere to eat at "Peak Time Rushes," I don't like crowds ... I tip well ... sit off to the side ... and am quiet. The places I go like my business, they invite me to stay as long as I like, and I've listed some of them in "Acknowledgments" of my books. I started going to Jin's Buffet in Conover a year ago in part due to the VA Discount of Free Drink, their coconut chicken, and the beef tips. I've been going pretty much every Wednesday and Saturday, sometimes on Sundays ... regularly. My regular is a plate of fruit ... a few minutes later a plate of meat, vegetables, and rice noodles ... then a couple ice pops or fudge bars. ALWAYS ... I am working hard at my laptop. Today, however, as I came back with my ice pops, a woman without a name tag and wearing an apron came to my table (there were maybe four other tables occupied in the whole restaurant) and said something to the effect of, "Excuse me ... I am manager ... we like you like come here much ... we like you like our food ... we like you spend money to us ... but this is business to eat ... this is not library ... you must go because you here long time ... server want you to go so she can have other person at her table ..." I was stunned and replied, "There is nobody here, the server has this whole section and there has been almost nobody here since I came in, she and the other servers are standing over there doing NOTHING, I send people here all the time, I come here to write my book and had you in the Acknowledgements, I tip well, and the money I save with the VA Free Drink I give back to the server. Just this past Saturday you told me to stay as long as I wanted because you weren't busy, and I've been giving you business a long time." She said, "I sorry ... you must go," and I was still holding my ice pops in my hand. I said, "No problem ... I'm putting these back (the fact she let me put them back is against Health Codes) and I'm leaving ... you get my business no more. I'm putting this one the internet and every Consumer Report I can find." Golden Corral has the best home-made potatoes and roasted turkey, Geppetos cannot be beat for the meat in their spaghetti sauce, Hams on 321 has a Buffalo Burger to fight for, New York Hibachi has a superior selection with the best sushi in the area and a great grill, for Japanese cooking Kobe has a great sesame chicken and they fill your plate with that rice (last time I was there, I ordered a side of carrots, and the order filled half my plate), and for just a sandwich nothing beats Sub Station II ... I am just one person, but Jin's Buffet has NO HONOR!!! You are RUDE, and should be SHUT DOWN!!! I am DONE with you!!! read more

Best buffet in Conover, prices are average not expensive. They have these cheese pies that are so good, it's a must try if you like danish.
