My wife got sick 10 minutes after eating the sweet and sour pork.. she's been running to the bathroom for over a hour.. no resolution from calling..edit.. they completely blew me off.. I didn't ask for a refund or anything just tried telling them to check the pork so no one else gets sick read more

Gave this place another try with the wife when our usual was closed. Much better than the first time. Food was prepared fresh. Large portions. It was middle of the afternoon so we were only ones there. Phone rang often so most orders were takeout. Restaurant was clean. They changed my mind. read more

I feel bad giving this review, because the place was once so wonderful under the previous owners. Despite being an older building, it had the best Chinese food I've had. They had the most delicious handmade cream cheese wontons around. Never was your order wrong. If you are confused why the reviews have dropped the change of ownership is why. The new owners so far can't match the quality of the previous ones. I wish they could. I miss them greatly because they were so nice and diligent. I hope they are enjoying their retirement. read more

This place has good food at a cheap price I get food from here at least 2-3 times a week and hands down the best place in the town

found cockroaches in my food i've been eating here for years haven't came back please clean your restaurant and get those under control.

The fried rice and shrimp sauce is delicious. I've been eating here for decades, literally.

My mom loves this place. I think it is ok. It is a bit run down inside but the food is good. We always get takeout. It's ready fast and very hot. I like the cream cheese wontons (like crab rangoons but not fishy). Mom can't get enough of the hot and sour soup. Staff is always nice. read more

Ordered and food came out fast, but for me this was the worst Chinese food I have seen in years. As an American Jew I know Chinese food and this was terrible! It gets 2 stars 1 for quickness and another for the friendly staff, but the egg roll that everyone raves about here are you kidding me and the Szechuan chicken were almost inedible. I will not return and you should try somewhere else. Sorry owners but gross! read more

All I can say about this place is that it is filling. Totally flavorless unimanagitive Chinese food. On the up side the person who took our order was very nice and they had a Serve Safe Certificate on the wall. read more

I hate leaving a bad review but I use to rave about the Egg Rolls. I can't do that now. I'm not sure what's happening, but the taste of the food as gone down hill. read more

I came here with some co-workers as we followed them to this town. I have to admit I was skeptical in the middle of this town Chinese food? I ordered Kung Bo chicken served with fried rice and yes as the previous reviewer stated the dessert wontons which initially took me by surprise. I want to give it 3 stars, but the lady and man that was helping us was so nice and sweet I bumped it up to a 4. read more

I was really pleased with my dish. They do a superb job with tofu! The home style tofu was sooooo tasty. The veggies in the dish were plentiful and well-seasoned. The cashier was very friendly and took pride in the food they serve. It's my favorite place for takeout when I visit relatives. read more

1st time coming here was tonight and on appearance it doesn't seem like much... we however were treated so wonderfully by the young woman at register who also was very knowledgeable. Food was great - we will be returning! read more

I've been eating here for a few years. They have the best cream cheese Rangoon and their spicy chicken wing combo ($5.50) comes with rice and cream cheese Rangoon is totally delicious! I do feel the place needs some renovations but other than that. They're nice people and have great food! read more

The service was friendly and relatively quick, but the food was just awful. The lo mein and vegetables I had were some of the worst I have ever tasted. Eat anywhere but here. read more

My go to when it comes to Chinese food! The house special lo mein noodles is delicious and I always order a side or sesame chicken to go with it also! read more

Been eating here off and on since 2001. The owner still remembers me by name. It's always a pleasure to eat here, although I feel renovations are in order at this point. read more

Been eating here for 20 + years I love this place. They have the best sesame chicken! And the egg rolls are to die for! The sweet tea is awesome! read more

Delicious takeout. Call in your order and you I won't have to stand there like a rube. And there is nothing else I have to say about it.

Found nats at the bottom of the rice. Never ate there since then. They asked if I wanted another plate. I said I want a refund!

I never do this but I was very disappointed in the food... Maybe I just had too high of expectations from past Chinese food restaurants but I don't think so... BUT everyone was super friendly and nice. read more

Simply the best Chinese food I've ever eaten. I always make a point of stopping by when I'm in town. The egg rolls are wonderful. The buffalo scallion chicken is my favorite dish but everything on the menu is worth trying. read more

Always my go-to Chinese place when I'm back in town. And it's always the place friends & I usually meet to catch up with each other about life or school, because service is always so friendly. And of course, the food is delicious for such a reasonable price. And they give you so much as if you were paying double the price. Love this place. read more

The food is sooooo good. The egg rolls are big and fat and the wontons are so creamy good.

This is easily the best Chinese place in the area. Their prices are cheap, but the food does not lack any flavors. I've been doing there for over 15 years, and nothing has changed. The owners are as nice as you can get and the food is as fresh as you can get. My go-to dishes are the house lo mein (made spicy), sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken on a stick (made spicy), and wings (made spicy). I've tried almost everything on the menu, and it's all been good. This is one of my favorite spots to each ANYWHERE!!! read more

Have ate here for many, many years & quality is definitely not what it used to be. Ordered two entrees, Veg Lo Mein & Pork Chow Mein, neither worth eating! Also ordered Chinese Veg Soup which I admit was good. Quantity of entrees is good but if you prefer flavor go elsewhere. This is the only Chinese rest. in the area so prev. reviews that say it's good for the area are jaded. Worth the drive to go elsewhere!!! read more

a new contender has risen for worst chinese food in the hickory- statesville area (and thats going some!) . all the food is tasteless, greasy beyond belief, vegetables are cooked to death and beyond. fried rice is a round ball of mush served with an ice cream scoop from the looks of it. hot tea is a generic teabag in a styrofoam cup. all styrofoam dinner ware with light plastic cuttlerie. however, the old woman behind the counter was a joy to see, so it gives me no pleasure to write this ...... close it down and start over. there is good chinese food in hickory, keep looking read more

Ok , we have lived in our current location for 19 yrs.. China View used to be one of our favorites BUT NO MORE. the original owners have sold out to new owners, they are there pretty much all the time. Tonight 12/6/2017 we ordered A family size sesame chicken , fried rice a BBQ beef on a stick order and a Large bowl of Brown gravy. Now anyone who knew the previous owners KNEW they were made to order even if you have to wait 5 or so minutes ,,that is fine fresh is best , Tonight we were served (to go) sesame chicken that tasted like it had been soaked in vinegar and IT WAS COLD..anyone who knows Chinese food knows its hot enough to melt the to go containers . The Bowl of gravy was so salty i poured it down the kitchen sink, But only after i skimmed the inch of oil off of the top I do not pour oil down drain I don't need that clogging up my drains.. any how.. the The BBQ beef was raw in the center... this is the 2nd time in as many months the food has been HORRID.. I for one will not be returning. I am sad to know that they are still preparing foods under the china view name. The quality is not there the taste is not there and Neither am I.. read more
