Love the food, very disappointed with the boss lady. She's never friendly the times I call up there. I ordered edamame and always make sure to ask for a ramekin of lemons. I only care to have my edamame with lemons and because of that I always make sure to ask for some. For some reason, they always forget it and it seems to be an issue when I remind them. Tonight I called and asked them for some lemons for my edamame over the phone. I checked my bag there and of course they didn't put any. When I asked for some, she gives me 2 little slices so I had asked for more and explained to her that I like it with my edamame and she cut me off and told me they were out...I work in the same industry and I'm just shocked on how this lady treats her guest. Usually when you charge your Tesla, your food options are limited and mediocre at best. China Garden didn't have "knock your socks off " reviews, but I was up for Chinese food. The waitress was one of the friendliness full of smiles employees I've ever encountered (especially since The Big C) at a restaurant. I can't remember having a better server than this young girl. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken which is usually stingy with veggies and peanuts. The food came right out of the wok fresh, hot, delicious, and loaded with vegetables and (my fav) peanuts! The egg roll was nothing to write home about and the fried rice was pretty bland but the Kung was POW! The excellent service and the entree made up for those two minor shortcomings. Customer of 13 years! I walk in and there is never a greeting. Never a response to a Thank you! I told them that when I called in for my take out order that the lady on phone was not in a good mood and not up to par on her customer service. No one seemed to care. The place looks kind of sketch walking in, but the dining area is really nice. If you go from 11AM-6PM they have a special where you can get 50% off sushi. After 6PM they offer another special where you can get unlimited sushi for the price of $18 and change. This place also has other menu items other than sushi. Being here three times I can honestly say that this is the place to get some delicious sushi for a bargain! They have a variety of specialty sushi and interesting ingredients like kiwi and jalapeños. They will easily accommodate special requests and the service has been fast and friendly. My wife's favorite dishes are the Chicken Cashew and Moo Goo Gai Pan. I'm a favorite of both along with the General Tangs chicken and Cashew Shrimp. For a "Chinese Restaurant in-a-box," (ever see the late night infomercials that sell a restaurant start-up kit, complete with a cash register and the generic Chinese food signs? ~ Crazy, I know, right?), this place is serving above-average quality ingredients and quality. There are a few items that can be improved... it's impressive to crank out a complete meal in under 4 minutes, however, if your guest is dining-in, spread out the service, so that the appetizer course is actually consumed, prior to the arrival of the main. Greet your customers warmly (yes they do), but then seat them without reluctance, when you learn they wish to dine-in, and are not carrying-out! (We arrived 2 1/2 hours prior to closing, but felt awkward being reluctantly seated in the recently mopped dining room! Hello? Are you offering seated dining, or not?) Once we got past the initial seating, our server, Steena, adjusted to our requests with the most positive and helpful service she could provide. She did ensure that, unlike our first time, our meal was appropriately paced. She also made more than typical check-backs, to ensure that we had everything we needed. She was very hard-working, but not overbearing. I could not resist ordering the Singapore Noodles for a second time. The chef cooks this dish with great pride, not over-doing the oil used in the stir fry, and adding a perfect balance of shrimp, chicken and roast pork. The julienned green onions are super fresh, as well. It was a first time for me to order the Hot & Sour Soup at this restaurant, and I have eaten some of the finest (made in the Little Asia neighborhood of Seattle), to other "Chinese-in-a-box" restaurants. This was definitely one of the better versions, to my surprise! It was loaded with ingredients, and it was approaching a stew-like presentation. Large, fresh mushrooms, roast pork, julienned carrot and bamboo, egg ribbons, and a nice balance of spice and sour. (The only better I've had, has had more spice-kick). If you are a Crab Rangoon fan, you probably won't enjoy theirs, however... They are not formed into the traditional star shape (to provide additional crispy edges), and the filling is 100% cream cheese... so, no Crab for the Rangoon :-( My hubby ordered a special-request variation from the menu. He was really interested in the Chicken with Garlic Sauce dish, since it had a nice variety of fresh vegetables. He does not enjoy garlic sauces, however, since he is allergic. He requested to have this same dish made, but altering the sauce to the Hunan sauce. It was pleasingly packed with a variety of VERY Fresh vegetables, as well as a generous serving of chicken! Long story short (Ha!) For a mom-and-pop place in the Mountain View area, they are worth going to, once you determine dishes that work for you (tipping my hat to another Yelper's review). Also, as someone else pointed out... their sanitary score is not as high as many other restaurants in the area, so I will be watching this more closely. read more

I have eaten here many times and the food is always fresh, the perfect temperature, and served with a genuine smile. The dining room is always clean and comfortable. They offer specials constantly, like bogo sushi that is wonderful, and bogo half off bento boxes. The one time I heard a customer complain, the owner handled it with finesse and grace. To be honest, this is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, and the staff is friendly. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they were actually REALLY clean, and they provide high-quality hand sanitizers as well as cleaning the pen you use to sign. read more

We live in local are and are very close to restaurant. In 2015 and 2016 the food was always good and fresh and never had a bad experience in 2017 quality of food changed and went down hill. In 2018 tried restaurant again still not good. Last Saturday ordered takeout, my wife had Sesame chicken And i had Shrimp egg - foo yung. My friends and I ordered six rolls, three cooked and three uncooked from their fairly extensive and unique menu. The decor is adequate, the service was great, and although it took a little extra time fur the rolls to arrive, they were fresh, ample, and very good. Absolutely horrible customer service. I dined here just now with a party of four. The flounder with broccoli that my.mother ordered was undercooked. One bite turned her stomach sour. She clearly stated to the waitstaff that she could not eat it, nor did she want to order anything else . She is diabetic and needed to have something, so I insisted that she a have a small portion of my meal, and she did so reluctantly. Later, the waitstaff said the charge for the inedible food could not be removed from the bill. I asked to speak to the manager. I was told the manager doesnt speak English, but the manager told the waiter the best he could do was take 30% off the inedible order of flounder , which amounted to $2.98 . He also said that if I didn't agree to this, then the waiter would have to pay the bill himself. I settled for the $2.98 discount as I didn't feel it was fair for the waiter to have to pay. And no, I didnt take it out on the waitstaff as I left a generous tip. However, I will never eat here again and I am very sorry for ever entering this place of business. read more

The food is disappointing and very bland. We ordered Crab Rangoon for an appetizer and were given greasy fried wontons filled with sweetened (!) cream cheese bereft of any fish flavor whatsoever. The wontons in my Wonton Soup (4 per pint) were mushy and the broth was absolutely flavorless. I ordered Chicken Egg Foo Young. It was horrid. It came in the form of thick, grilled egg pancakes with a few chunks of tough chicken and a bit of chopped celery. No other crunchy, tasty vegetables were present. None. The gravy/sauce was pale beige with a thick layer of oil on the surface, and a flavor that was reminiscent of auto wax. Husband's General Hung with Lo Mein was equally flavorless and disappointing. But the very worst is that I had to run to the bathroom four times around dawn. I lost hours of sleep that I desperately needed, and since the Quality Suites recommended this Asian flavored dump for a delivery dinner, I was tempted to demand a refund for my room rate. My husband and I ate here for the first time since we were passing through on a road trip. We were in the mood for Chinese and so we googled locations near us. We found Chinese Garden. Service was genuinely friendly and prompt. We were not disappointed. I ordered the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce and asked for it to have extra garlic, but it didn't seem like there was any garlic in it whatsoever. It was delicious nonetheless....shrimp were fresh and large, and it had zucchini and carrot shavings and I think bamboo slices. It had a tasty brown (almost like oyster) sauce and it was delicious for what it didn't have....cheap celery, cabbage and water chestnuts like so many others. They gave you a lot, too and I could not finish it all. My husband had the "Awesome Shrimp" which I sampled out of curiosity, and it too was just like the name said....but beware if you don't like ginger, because it did have undertones of freshly grated ginger. We also had the "Seafood Soup for Two" and that was a true delight. It was way beyond what we expected...chock full of scallops, shrimp, fish and crab, all the real deal. They gave you a lot of that too, and we couldn't finish it all, so that will be a compliment to my lunch tomorrow. I also had their hot green tea with honey since I wasn't feeling very well. I was told that the owner brings it back from China twice a year when she goes home to visit. She brings jasmine tea and green tea, as a loose leaf. The green tea tasted like a sweet meadow. this place used to be great. i used to eat there at least twice a week. i went over the weekend and it was terrible. the food tasted so plain and bland. The wait staff have no idea what is going on. They need some waitress training. We waited on our appetizer for 45 min. Then waited another 30 for the meal. Then one meal came and the other was 15 min later. So my friend was done with her meal as I was just receiving mine. The check was a completely different matter. They over charged us and then swore we got everything we were charged for. Finally got the checks figured out and the waitress which was not our original one finally came back with the receipts after another 20 min. We were literally there over 2 hrs. I hate to say i will never be back but I seriously doubt i will. This place used to be great now... its just like all the other plain Jane Chinese restaurants in this town. read more
