This is the first Thai restaurant that I have ordered at in years that I can honestly give a five star rating too! I ordered chicken pad Thai with no onions and no bean sprouts. The only thing they messed up on was that they did put onions in it so I just picked them out and didn't say anything. The pad Thai actually tasted like real pad Thai! First time here today for lunch and it was steady slowish, but eventually started picking up. It seems like a family owned placed, about two waitress/waiter and 3 cooks. I was greeted and seated, took my order. The thing I like is they give you egg rolls and soup, free before your meal which I think should be standardized. Every lunch meal should come with a veggie egg roll. They did forgot my water and I had to asked for it but they bought it out quickly. Everything on the menu is cheap and fairly a good portion for lunch so that's a plus. I got full off of My lunch dish and the egg rolls. Best Thai cuisine in the CLT metro region. I live in CLT but often come up to Moorseville, and probably every other time get Thai Thai. The yum yum salad is so flavorful, the pad thai is legit, and there are dishes for the less adventurous like Lo Mein. The folks that work there are very nice. Highly recommend. read more

This is the second time I've been here twice during Covid-19 and taken note of the changes the restaurant has made to ensure customers and staff are safe. One of my favorite experiences is discovering a new restaurant that doesn't look like much but serves delicious food. This restaurant is that place! The modest outside looks like an old Tastee Freez or something, but trust me, they are serving up some delicious Thai cuisine. We began with Thai tea, which is pretty much my favorite thing to drink in the whole world. It's a strong tea topped with sweetened milk and mixed to perfection after it gets to the table. It is super sweet, but I adore it. This version is one of the best I've had. For appetizers we tried a few fried rolls. Mary got the spring rolls, which were simple but well executed. We could tell they were handmade. The sweet and sour sauce it was served with was deliciously tart. I got the Shrimp Blanket, which tasted just like the spring roll, but with a large whole shrimp inside. The sauce it was served with was Sweet and Sour sauce with some chopped peanuts sprinkled on top. I loved it! These were some of the best rolls I've ever had, and the shrimp was so fresh! I chose the Pad Gra Paow for my meal. It is a mix of shrimp, peppers, carrots, onions, garlic and fresh basil leaves stir fried in these deeply flavored brown sauce. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, tender but still with a little crunch. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly, too. I loved this dish with the fresh basil! Served with white rice to help sop up that delicious sauce. Mary got the Gai Krob (Sweet and Sour Crispy Chicken) and it was just amazing. The sauce that it was in was a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The chicken was clearly breast meat and was breaded and fried crispy. She only let me have a tiny bite, but it was amazing. Tahi Thai was one of several bookmarks made before arriving in Mooresville. Honestly was expecting to be disappointed upon walking in (not having any good Chinese in the area). So it was nice to see there were only a couple of tables available as soon as the staff could clean them off new patrons would sit. Know the menu for the "Lunch Specials" has plenty to choose from is priced at $6.99-7.99 comes with a spring roll and garlic rice soup to start. Pad see ewe was as good as I remembered slightly sweet and smoky with some heat thrown in. You will be asked for your heat level and went with three. The noodles are a bigger here than at other places more like torn sheets instead of wide noodles would be my only gripe, the chicken was tender the broccoli crisp. Next visit Green Curry with chicken (choose your protein) had coconut milk, green beans, peppers, bamboo shoots, eggplant and basil (nixed the carrots). After a couple of pictures was ready to dig in. Oh man this was good. The creaminess of the coconut milk and the level three heat mixed with lightly sautéed chicken and veggies yum, more sauce please! Trust nothing was left on that plate. Just had lunch at this place for the first time even tho I've driven by it dozens of times before. Why have I never eaten here? The food was delicious. I had panang curry and it was full of flavor, not too spicy, plus you can adjust the spiciness of a dish to suit your taste. I had it with chicken but it would've been fine as vegetarian. The yellow curry was really good too. Both dishes came with a scoop of sticky rice. A small bowl of soup and egg roll was included, altho the soup was a little watery with little flavor. The egg roll was freshly made. We also ordered a starter of steamed dumplings. They came out hot and very tasty. Service was outstanding. We were greeted and seated right away, our order was taken quickly and the food arrived hot and freshly made. The restaurant was really busy during lunch time so I'm glad we came early. Including a soda, each meal came out to just over $15 including a tip. For a full lunch at a sit-down restaurant with table service, that is a very reasonable price. Also, if I ever find out what authentic is and how Thai is supposed to taste I may have to revisit this. meanwhile this is how it all set with me: Steamed dumplings are smallish but quite good when the plastic wrap is off, sweet soy sauce adds a measure of brightness. Seafood panang curry was a big hit with my lovely bride; respectable bits of shrimps, squid, and scallop in a coconutty curry with broccoli, carrots, and pineapple. Chicken Pad Gra Paow was a good choice for me; no coconut and plenty of peppers, onions, and carrots with basil enough for my tastes. Veggies are firm and abundant, flavors play well together and it stays moist in a light brown sauce. Stumbled upon this place and loved the green curry so much I took another portion home for the hubby....which led us to make the 40-minute trip to have it again! So I cant say much about other items as I might never try anything else. The menu had all the classic Thai staples and was very reasonably priced with generous portions. We chatted up the owners and discovered they're in the midst of building out a new location in our hometown of Lexington! - which is in desperate need of Thai food. Tried this establishment a couple of times in the past , and was generally impressed with the flavors and the taste of the"heat" of the spicy items. They would ask you what level you wanted, and gave them a number 1 to 5 , with 5 being the hottest. Last week ordered the coconut soup, and told him I wanted it at the 5 (The highest) level of hot. He informed me that they don't do that anymore; they give you the hot sauce (on the side) to do it yourself. When I got the soup home, the general flavors were there, but the hot sauce they gave me was neither hot (at all) or added any taste. I was very disappointed. I thought, here is another place cutting back on ingredients (and hoping you don't notice), and soon the food will be, (if not already) a bland mess, judging from some other reviews, and a bad bland cheep imitation of the original authentic food.
