First time at Thai Esane located at Gibson Mills. Placed our order without difficulty, paid, then waited. They take your phone number so you can walk around while waiting. We enjoyed looking at all the students artwork in the area while waiting. We brought home our food - Crab Rangoon, Wings, and Pad Thai. Everything was very tasty. Portion sizes were good. This restaurant is a part of the food court in Gibson Mill. All the way at the end on the left. DELICIOUS! Service was great. I liked that they had entrees I don't typically see at Thai restaurants. Portion sizes were great. I couldn't eat it all for lunch so I had the rest for dinner. I was able to choose tofu for my protein in my Drunken Noodles. Seasoning was great. I got medium spice and it was perfect. Bottled drinks are available for about $3 including water. This was consistent throughout the food court. I'm excited that the one Asian option had great food! This was a pleasant surprise. We came to Gibson Mill to meet a friend and check out the shops. Of course, I wanted to see the food court. They had a nice variety, yet I immediately went to this Thai restaurant as I haven't seen a lot of Thai places here. They have a good mix of options and the prices were good. I got the chicken Pad See Eew. They cooked it fresh in front of me and it was ready in less than 12 minutes. It was exactly what I needed. The flavors and portion size were on point. read more

I came here on a whim while in the area and wanted crab Rangoons to go with whatever else I decided to get. The gentleman at the register was quick to help and took my order fast and I was done in about 45 seconds! I told him I'd come back for my food while I went to order an entree elsewhere. When I came back about 8-10 mins later he saw me coming and smiled and picked up my food to hand me. The Rangoons were filled nicely and had a great flavor! First time trying the food from this vendor at Gibson Mill Market. It was fresh, hot and delicious. We ordered at the counter and found a seat close by. They don't yell out your number so you kind of need to keep an eye out for the side counter where they put the food. Gibson Mills Market is a fun place to try for variety food stalls. There's lots of seating but there are busy times where it might be a little hard to find a seat with a big crowd. They also have outside seating. read more

The brisket fried rice is so good!! My friend ordered food also. We got to come back and try more of the menu. The service was super fast and friendly. I didn't know this venue had such loud music on Fridays so we took our food outside but it was all amazing! Definitely need to come back to try the Pad Thai and a curry. read more

This restaurant is in the Gibson Mill Market (food hall) above High Branch brewery. It opened in early August 2024, about 6 weeks ago. Pros: Service was fast, the kitchen area appeared clean. Good flavor. The egg rolls were delicious! Close to many other restaurants and a brewery so there's lots of choices to go with your meal. Opportunities: - I ordered Pad Thai and it doesn't mention meat on the menu. When ordering, I was asked Chicken or Shrimp and selected Shrimp. It was an up charge. The shrimp also had tails on which is a bit annoying to have to remove from a dish you don't eat with your hands. - Spice Level - I was verbally offered a variety of spice levels for my Pad Thai and chose mild to be safe (I normally get medium) and it was hot and hard to eat at times. I warned my MIL before she ordered, she likes things hot and the spice was hardly tolerable for her as well. - Tipping - the payment machine screen is turned around after you insert your card for you to select a tip percentage. It starts at 20% and goes up from there. This is a food hall where you order, stand and wait for your order number to be called and then receive food in styrofoam and foil packaging and then sit anywhere. There's no table service or dishes. That's excessive. - Notification food is ready - other places in the food hall where food isn't immediately handed to you in this food halls and others have a buzzer or offer to text you, so you can walk around and order different food and return when your food is ready. They do not, so you have to stand there and wait for your number to be called. Overall I like the place a lot and think that with enhancements to a few things, they can be even better. read more

trying to put a little excitement in our elderly lives that doesn't require an ER visit, last Friday we decided to venture forth and visit a new place that was well within our "willing to drive " radius. Rick and I both like Asian food, and with a little help from "We thought you might like one of these", decided on a nearby Thai restaurant. Of course, I Googled this place. Mixed reviews but the pictures looked good.(PhotoFood?) I should have known that this was going to be an adventure when their menu kept changing before my eyes. Literally. Almost as if it were typed in invisible ink. You can order it, now you can't. One iteration of the menu caught my attention, offering chicken satay and drunken noodles. I love satay and the drunken noodles intrigued me. I have had drunken prawns before in Singapore (age appropriate prawns are literally drowned in alcohol before cooking), but how in the world would one know when a noodle is pasta legal limit? I couldn't wait to see how this played out. I was a little surprised that this place was more fast foodish than expected, small with two employees. At first glance, all you see when you approach are the menus. Little ones, big ones, laminated ones, some written on a white board, etc. Probably ten or so. After taking a few calming breaths, we realized that it was the same menu, over and over again, with perhaps 12 items on it. We honed in on what we wanted but before I ordered, I wanted to know exactly what made up the 'drunken' part of the noodle dish. Naturally, I asked, "What makes this dish "drunken"? Is there alcohol in it?" Dead silence accompanied by a vacant look on the face of the server. Now the challenge is on... Very slowly I ask again, "is there alcohol in this dish"? ? Nada response. It becomes clear that he is Mexican and knows only a few words in English, none of them in reference to the menu. My Spanish is limited to the bathrooms in LA, and at no time did I learn the Spanish word for alcohol. The closest I could come to it was the word for beer. So I point to the word 'drunken' on the working menu and hope that with my perfect accent the word "cerveza" would at least get us into the ballpark of explanation. Nada again. OK, what the hell. I ordered the noodles. Rick ordered the lo mein. The young man then points to pictures of the dishes we ordered (on another menu) and taps the 'NOT' symbol covering the chicken and the shrimp, leaving tofu as the only option (it's noon. Out already?). He continues to tap the symbols and the pictures, one after the other, until we say "We'll have tofu". I actually would have preferred no protein but at that point I was not about to go down that callejon. I also wanted to ask if the chicken satay was available, but it appears that more than the chicken crossed the road. Whew, almost done. No one I know can eat Thai food, even medium heat, without something to drink. Our man was about to ring up the sale (he had no problem with that machine) but before he could I say, "Drinks?" and use the universal pantomime gesture of taking a swig of something. He points to a few bottles of water. As I look around I ask, "Is that all you have"? He turns and points to the wall behind him that has absolutely nothing on it and mumbles something sounding a little like 'Pepsi". Whatever he meant, clearly they were out of that too ! At this point I'm thinking, "This is not real" and I have had enough Candid Camera type fun. I settled on water, and paid the outrageous bill. When food was ready, the gentleman would stare at the customers until they figured out that it was their food that was 'up'. The food wasn't bad, but the' forced' tofu was dry and had a weird texture. I have to say, the piece de resistance to this encounter was the customer service. What a joke! Heath Ledger level. I have nothing against the poor guy trying to make a buck, but it was clear he was not 'fluent in English' and was embarrassed at our frustration. What was the owner of the establishment thinking?!?! Must be a graduate of Trump University, majoring in bankruptcy. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment unless they offer a 'buy two panang curry get chimichanga free'. I ordered the pad Thai with a medium heat bc I usually love spicy food. Medium was more like insanity- it was so hot I barely ate 1/4 of it before tossing it. The pad Thai itself was greasier than I expected. It tasted more like mall food than what I expected from Gibson Mill (given that every other restaurant is delicious). read more
