I used to love going to the high point location so I was excited to come here! The service was wonderful but the food was below average. My hash browns were soggy and cold. Grits were flavorless. The omelette I got was okay but very dry. The biscuit was good and we really liked the side of homemade ranch that came with my husbands BLT!

Great service at this little diner. 4/5 service and food. We were visiting North Carolina on vacation. I definitely recommend this spot should you be passing by. I got the biscuits and gravy. Their sweet tea is extra sweet and delicious. Overall a great experience!!

The unknown server busy at it.

Diners are a foodies dream come true. So we jumped at celebrating my niece Lexi's 21st birthday at then near High Point University where Lexi is a junior this year. On a busy Saturday morning our group of 7 got seated right away. Our server, Amber, was awesome and accommodating. On point 100%+! The grits and omelets were tasty and filling. The "star" breakfast item IMHO was the hash browns. They tasted fresh and had a crispy crust. Delicious! On our next visit to HPU we will be headed back to the CD.

just now I'm not from around here, so when I found a local place that was open this late I was STOKED! The food was so good! I had the chicken fried steak with hash browns and fried green tomatoes. I'd never had friend green tomatoes before, but they were fabulous the breading was super lite and crispy. Lots of food for an AMAZING low price, the staff was fabulous too, our server Destiny was a delight! We'll be back before we head out of town!

We were hungry for lunch and decided to try this diner rather than eat at one of the chains. While the food was average, it was a better choice than any of the alternatives. Samantha was an excellent waitress with a great, cheerful attitude. Breakfast was good - eggs, bacon, grits. With two breakfast meals, one salad and a soul and sandwich combo, our ticket was around $35. Pretty good deal for four adults. We asked for crispy bacon and it wasn't. The water tasted like the pipes are a little old. However, all things considered: If I was traveling and hungry, I'd stop here.

I always get the BLT and have never been disappointed. The interior is styled like an old diner and the service is always super friendly.

Normally I don't go back and update my positive reviews, but because I've eaten at the Chat and…read moreChew a disproportionate number of times compared to everything else I've reviewed lately, I felt a 1 year (well, 8 months) revisit might be warranted. As before, I give this a resounding 5 stars. The menu has changed a little bit since I last wrote a review, and I've tried some new items. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. My new go-tos are the raging chicken salad on a croissant and the berries and cream pastries. If you read my previous review, you will see that I was working up the nerve to try the chicken salad, because I'm somewhat meat-averse at times, and also don't like heavily mayonnaised foods, which is a big risk with any of the so-called "salad" items (potato, chicken, tuna, etc.) in life. I can now confirm that the chicken salad is 1) not overly mayonnaised and 2) made from not-gross chicken (I have no further explanation for this, but picky eaters will know what I mean). It's relatively light, has a nice texture, and is flavorful. It is one of my favorite weekend lunch items (or weekday, if I'm working remotely and in the area) now, not just here but in general. The berries and cream pastry is delicious and I would eat everyday, or even multiple times a day, if my figure and my wallet could afford it. Sweet, rich, flaky. Definitely one of my favorite dessert / sweet snack items currently. I also got a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious, obviously). Very well executed and totally got my vision. As I said before, there is plenty of seating inside (outside too!) and the volume level is perfect -- lots of people coming through, but quiet enough I can read, study, or do work. We spend several hours at a time in here some weekends. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

Smart move on their part by sending the most adorable teenage boy with perfect puppy dog eyes to humbly hand us our bag as he kept saying how sorry he was. Who could be mad at him? Not me. We had ordered on their app as we were passing through the area and they were very busy so I get how a mix up could occur. The 5 stars happened because even though we sat for 20 minutes, our food did not. It was hot and it was fresh. Other places could take note of this and maybe step up their game a bit or A LOT.... I'm not saying any names but their initials being with Whataburger... Anyway, I digress. We both got the same thing. The double burger with chili, slaw, mustard, onions, and pickles. While not necessarily the best choice for a road trip lunch driving down the interstate, it's hard to be salty about something so delicious. Messy? Yes. But it was a glorious mess!! You gotta love a place that not only allows you to completely customize your food, but allows it for relatively no extra charge except on the big ticket items like bacon or extra cheese. And they don't skimp either... which again made for a messy drive but well worth the laundry I had to do as soon as our 7 hour drive was over. The two patties were perfectly done, the buns were fresh and they were very, very liberal with the included toppings. This thing was stacked with a wonderful, meaty chili, cool, crisp slaw, crunchy pickles, and rounded out with fresh onions that added a terrific contrast to the chili and slaw. And the toppings were spread through out the sandwich so that every bite delivered on flavor. They were also generous with the napkins, which is rare these days and very, very much appreciated. The fries were good although I'm not a big fan of the crinkle variety... that said, I do appreciate that you have the option in the app to get them extra crispy. That made for a much better experience. Though they're not my favorite type of fries, these were well cooked, soft on the inside without being mealy like most crinkles are; while having a nice crispy exterior. If I have to have crinkle cut fries, I'd prefer Dairi-O's. I also tried their tzatziki sauce because I love that as a dipping sauce for fries and it was pretty spot on. At first, when I saw it on the menu, my thought was, "what does a burger joint really know about tzatziki sauce?" Turns out, a lot. It was creamy, tangy, with just the right amount of fresh cucumber and dill. Over all, as far as I'm concerned, it's a solid fast food choice that feels less like fast food and more like eating a perfect burger from your backyard grill. We both enjoyed it very much and will be back.

Stopped by Dairi-O in Archdale after disc golfing at Creekside Park and it definitely hit the spot…read more I ordered the double burger and, as someone who always asks for extra pickles, I have to give them credit -- they actually delivered. So many places throw on one or two extra and call it a day, but this was a legit pickle situation. The crinkle-cut fries were seasoned and really good, the milkshake was decent, and the burger was solid overall. Nothing fancy, just classic fast-food comfort done well. For two double combos and a chocolate shake, it was $29 and some change, which felt pretty reasonable. I'd definitely grab it again if I'm in that area. Perfect post-disc golf fuel.
