My friend and I went to this diner at 11:AM ON A sat. It was full, but plenty of seats. Everything was fine. Just what you would expect from a diner. It was about 66 degrees outside and the temp in the diner was soooo hot. We rushed to get out since we were so hot. Prices are average. Upon paying I told the guy at the register about the heat and he said that no one was complaining so they didn't put on the fans or the AC. Over, fine place to eat! read more

The sunrise diner continues to amaze me. I've never had a bad meal there portion sizes are fantastic for the price and all of the staff is always so friendly and welcoming. So many of the neighboring diners have really slipped especially throughout the pandemic but the sunrise continues to get better and better. I drive about 25 minutes to a half hour just to go there. I am somewhat of a regular at this restaurant but lately it just isn't what it once was. I actually leave there feeling hungry. They no longer give you bread. Their specials menu leaves a lot to be desired. Personally I think they should have an Italian and a seafood dish on the special menu every night. read more

First timer here and I really enjoyed my brunch! I got a scrapple griddle melt and it was probably one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. I'm not a huge fan of home fries so I swapped those out for some well done fries and they were sooooo good! My family and I eat here regularly. From the breakfast to dinner the food is amazing. I love the chicken Cardon blue panini sandwich. My wife like the spruce chicken panini and my daughter does the chicken cheesesteak. When My in-laws visit they love going here. They say the food and atmosphere remind them of Long Island. The love having breakfast there. The dinner is crazy too. You get a good serving of food. Not expensive either. People are afraid to order Italian dishes at diners. Don't be afraid here. I've been visiting the Sunrise Diner long enough to know that if you wish to have a great meal with your family members or friends, this is the place to go. The prices for some of the food options may not exactly be ideal, but they more than make up for it in the quality. Furthermore, their staff (see: waitresses) is excellent; they always have a smile on their face and are more than happy to help you out with anything you need. Need a refill on a drink? They'll be there at the drop of a hat. This place has been a go-to spot for years--and for good reason. If you're in the area and wish to dine in, definitely consider them--you won't regret it. And hey, if you wish you have takeout, they can do that too! No problem whatsoever. Just call and place and order and you can pick it up within 15-20 mins. I've now eaten twice at this diner, and I have found it to be consistently very good. Just solid good old comfort food. We tried a number of their dishes. The one that surprised me the most was the prime rib. Eating prime rib outside of a steakhouse is a bit risky, but their prime rib was tender, juicy and flavorful. The environment is very homey and comfortable. The waitress we had was new. She gave us our check before we finished our meal, and she didn't come back to offer dessert. We had to flag her down (she was busy). But other than that, everything was just fine. read more

My family have been going to this place for a long time, we always seemed to have good service until today, im truly not a complainer but i really had a disapointing experience with the young waiter who was extremely poor. It all started when i recieved a cold coffee which i asked to heat it up. I thought that , that was the end, but it was not, this vindictive waiter held the food for 45 min. Bringing it out only to be cold, he came to our table only once and didnt return after that , until delivering the food. At this point we had enough. Paid and left after telling mgt. So, I have been going to this diner, near my house, for over 4 years. The past 6 months have been the worst and tonight was the final straw. I have had food poisoning from a server pushing a breakfast on me, to the food not being of any quality anymore and tonight, I ordered Salmon, as I always do, and it was discolored and didn't taste right. Sent it back and server, very nice, came out and said they said it is good and fresh. Asked if I wanted to order something else but at that point, my husband was almost done and I specifically went there for the Salmon. I had already had the drink, salad and veggies from my special so I told her to take it off the bill. She came back and said he charged for the salad and veggies. It came to almost half of what I would have paid had I gotten another order. Complained and they took one item off, but, honestly, won't go there for breakfast because food poisoning and won't go there for dinner now because I can't trust I can get the salmon I want. Servers are great in am and a few good ones in the evening. It is a shame because it used to be so good!!! read more

What can I say? I love the Sunrise Diner. Their menu has everything and everything is good. My favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken Salad and on "cheat day" it's hard to beat their fresh (not frozen) burgers on a pretzel roll. SO AWESOME! Their fries are pretty tasty too. What I also like are the friendly owners and great wait staff. I just love going to the Sunrise. I know I'll never have a bad meal and when I'm dieting for a competition they are very accommodating when I request low-carb and low-fat options. They make substitutions for me without hesitation. One of those old fashioned stainless steel and glass diners from the 1950's, that is still pumping out excellent breakfast fare for road warriors. Pulled in driving my late model Zipmobile, and when I returned, it had transformed into a 1958 Packard. Just what I always wanted! The staff was perfect for this stage. Friendly, gregarious, and full of "Honey." The French Toast was very good, too. Enough egg, soaked through and through, and a caramelized texture where the super hot range had cauterized the surface of the bread. If they had used real maple syrup rather than the mass produced prepackaged variety, it would have attained all star (5 Star) status. Also needed a Cecilware coffee urn, rather than the newer Bunn for the best coffee. I don't mind cutting corners to make ends meet, but in my fantasy the syrup comes straight from a Vermont Sugar Maple to my plate. read more

Very good food and always good service. We very rarely have to wait for a seat but when we do it is never long.

Croydon is always a hit or miss area for me. From the outsider looking in, it seems dumpy, but Ive found some real gems in this area. Sunrise diner looks that was from the outside, but their menu is extensive and their burgers are to die for. Their decor is a little bit on the mismatched "my Grandmom picked this out for me" side, but I have yet to have anything bad. I would personally stay away from the dinner specials though, because they tend to always be sub par. read more

I had the Greek salad, fresh greens, veggies, and best of all, tons of feta. Next, open face turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was, well, just perfect. Been here a few times. It's very typical diner experience. Moderately varied menu with all the standard stuff. Place is clean. Always people there but never packed. Service is above average. Ordered the turkey reuben with slaw (posted a photo) and pea soup with unsweetened tea. Slaw was terrific. Almost identical to Famous Recipe Chicken's Cole slaw. Creamy and slightly sweet. I'm a huge reuben fan. The have an open face version on the menu with proper kraut and pastrami (or corned beef?) but I wanted a closed one and this was the only option. It was more like a Rachel than a reuben... Had slaw and Russian dressing and turkey. Even though the slaw by itself is great, it made the sandwich soggy. I also much prefer 1000 island. All in all, I would have been better off just asking for a modified version of the open face one. The fries were very good. Similar to the coated / battered fries you get at Checkers. Pea soup was decent. Tea was average, perhaps a little weak. Just before this visit I got the burger and onion rings. It was a bit average. Toppings were good but it had a big dry, chewy kaiser roll (meh). For value, it is good if you are OK with the included sides/options. I asked about adding a side salad (very simple and basic) but it was an extra $2.50. Not a big deal but that can quickly run up the bill. read more

This is probably my favorite diner in the Bensalem/Bristol area that I've tried so far. I usually go to diners when I want breakfast at any hour, and their breakfasts are pretty good. I get either the cream chipped beef or banana pancakes (which are pretty indulgent with whipped cream and caramel syrup on top). What ranks this place above other diners is the impeccable service here. Last time I visited, I ordered corned beef hash with my pancakes, and my waitress told me she would make sure the hash was fried to be crispy on the edges because that's how it would taste best. As a young, single diner, I'm used to being dealt with more brusquely than bigger parties around me. It's not a big deal, because I usually am reading or on my phone anyway. But because I'm used to that, the places where the service is really warm and friendly stand out to me. I feel comfortable here. read more

A friend recommended this diner to us about six months ago and we have made it a point to visit it a couple times a month. So many diners have been bought out by others and then they seem to go down hill. This one is not that way. Their prices are reasonable and they have a lot of the old fashioned basics listed on their menu. We went there for dinner today and my husband had Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti - which came with garlic bread, caesar salad and desert. I had Perch made with a lemon sauce and it was lovely. My dinner included a small greek salad, vegetables and desert. Overall, we only spent $20. and both of us were more than satisfied. The restaurant is not that large but they are very consistent with their food. Friends we have brought with us in the past have requested to come back again more than once. read more

I didn't think there were any good diners outside of New Jersey....I was wrong. This diner was like eating at grandma's house. One of the nicest, caring sweetest staff I ever dealt with. My friends couldn't believe how nice these people were ( mainly because we are all from NJ & NY ) The price was just right & the amount of combo's they had were meant for even the pickiest eaters. On our mission to visit everything local, we stopped by this little diner in Bristol. The portions are huge, the food is delicious, and the staffs provided great service and good humor! I ordered the "make your own omelette" with mushroom, bacon, and Canadian bacon. It came with white toasts, and home fries. I also ordered a side of pork roll because I loooooove pork. The pork roll was salty, juicy, and piping hot when it arrived. The omelette was hot and cooked just right. For less than $10, I got a pot of coffee plus my omelette which filled me up for the rest of the day. My friend got banana pancakes (which I got to try some) and it was soft and fluffy. One bit and you'll feel like you're riding on a cloud made of maple syrup. The total check came out to less than $23. Amazing! One reason why I didn't give four stars was because we found a short hair in his pancake, but I'm sure it's not a daily occurrence. We just happened to be lucky that day.
