The blueberry pancakes were beautifully presented and tasted just as delightful. Every surface was clean and the seating was comfortable. We found out about this place by overhearing two ladies talking about it while we were on St. Simon Island. We decided to try it before leaving town. They sat our party of nine immediately. It wasn't the fastest service, but we were a party of nine and they had a full restaurant. All of our orders were right and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the "Smash Hit" and it was WONDERFUL! A-OK It is difficult to find a diner down here in coastal Georgia and this one was hiding in plain-site. I don't know how I missed this diner and failed to check it out for years but I am glad that I finally wised up and gave it a try. This is a true diner, with your typical large and diverse menu and breakfast all day long. The service was very good and the waitstaff could not have been nicer. Having 2 kids with very different tastes and palates, it is a pleasure to have a wide choice of entries and appetizers to choose from. On the other hand, my husband had the cheesecake pancakes and they were sickly sweet. He could barely eat half of it because it was just too much. Additionally, his glass of water smelled and tasted of soap. When we told our server and she brought a new one, the water was not much better, as if the water had just been switched out and not the glass. I also had water and had no issues with it. If you are in the area, you definitely should stop in for some food! Everything was very clean and everyone is extremely friendly! My husband got the Shrimp and Grits. He said they were very good! His only complaint was that his shrimp and sausage were a bit too charred on one side. He said it didn't make the meal unenjoyable though. He also got a biscuit with gravy that he said was phenomenal! He said you could tell that the gravy was homemade and the biscuit was nice and crumbly, but not dry. I got the Sportsman Combo with scrambled eggs with cheese, pancakes, and hashbrowns. It was delicious! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hashbrowns had the right amount of crunch, and the pancakes were brown but not too brown like you get at other places. vacationed in Florida, driving back to Buffalo,NY. stopped at Sunrise diner for a quick lunch. they were getting ready to close but cheerfully took us in anyway! So glad they did. The food was great! My sister had a burger, her husband beef tips and I opted for a breakfast burrito. All delicious. Just found out the owner is the one that seated us. Works in kitchen as well.
