We ordered a Reuben with onion rings and coleslaw. The rings were an up charge of $2. They were over fried. The waitress brought us a replacement but they were also overcooked. The coleslaw was tasteless. The Reuben was good, although sauerkraut and avocado together were a new experience. I had so much fun here! I love how you feel like you are walking into the past when you walk in. There is a gift shop when you walk in that has novelty gifts- such fun to browse and reminisce! The menus are set up like newspapers- and you get to keep it for a souvenir, which I loved. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash- it was delicious. Came out hot and fresh. Not what I expected- huge pieces of Corned Beef- I really enjoyed it. Hubs got steak and eggs- he really enjoyed his as well- steak cooked to perfect temp. Loved this diner! It has a very cute little shop and some model cars outside that you can look at while you wait. Even though it was peak lunchtime, our wait was only 30 min. The wait staff were very friendly and checked on us frequently. Everyone in our group loved their meal. Best onion rings i have ever had! The grilled chicken sandwhich was delicious, as were the fries. My group also enjoyed the chicken and waffles, classic burger and kids burger. The atmosphere and music were quite enjoyable. It's a very clean place so much fun. It bought back wonderful memories of the 50s. They have a Red Ford and a Pink Cadillac setup where a family can eat. The food is good especially the biscuits and grits. I found the eggs a little watery. The hash browns is cold and need to be served hot. The coffee is ok. The servers are just a cute as can be, very polite and great attitudes. Dressed in 50s attire and others in 50s uniforms. It was a great experience for us and anyone especially those who weren't born in the 50s. It gives you a peak of life during that period. Very disappointing. The food was not good in any stretch of the imagination. The slice of tomato on my burger was paper thin, and there was 1 single, pathetic lettuce leaf. I would have ordered a shake, but the price was higher than my dinner price. As I looked around, not a single table had ordered the shakes. It's a 50's style diner. Visited this business for Breakfast February 2022. Food was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Little pricy for the menu items, but a lot of the hype is due to the decor and nostalgia of the place. The Eggs Benedict was good, eggs cooked perfectly the Hollandaise sauce was a little lemon forward. The side pancake was also good and very big, but not very fluffy as others in town. Service was slower than expected but it was really busy and the food was good. When my shake took a really long time, our server was on it and made sure it was taken care of before I had to ask. Had breakfast here while on a road rally through the Smokies. It's right across the street from several hotels. Clean, bright, well managed. I ordered a sunliner burger (double bacon cheeseburger) and the meat was so dry and tough. The Mac n cheese was gross. The fries were okay. I also ordered a $15 milkshake. Chocolate milkshake with a brownie and Hershey chocolate on top. It comes super melted like it had been sitting out foe 10 mins. There was no brownie, they put a piece of waffle instead.. We loved how they kept the whole experience as though we were back in the 50s, complete with the waitresses and waiters wearing 1950s diner attire. The music was from the same era, and the menus were made to look like newspapers with fun 1950s trivia on them. There was an area where you could purchase Sunliner Diner merchandise in one part of the restaurant. In the center, there were booths made to look like actual 50s cars. The food was very reasonably priced and yummy. We had the chicken tender basket, garden salad, chef salad, country fried steak with green beans, and a burger and fries. The salads were large, and the dressing were fresh. The chicken tenders were full of flavor, as was the country fried steak. The burger was huge and tasted wonderful. The service was excellent. She needed to go to the bathroom. Traffic through Pigeon Forge guaranteed that we aren't going to get very far quickly. A large diner looking place loomed up on the right. That would at least have decent food plus a restroom. So I let her off with our friend to get a seat while I looked for a place to park. And I joined my friend as a waitress came regretfully to our table. "We're not really open yet, we're just doing a trial run". I prepared to leave. "So we won't have everything on the menu." Well, OK. "And everything is free today" This is a favorable review based on the quality of the meal. But you might understand why I might be favorably disposed to the place. My friend goes "Well then, I am having some appetizers". The fried pickles were great. They had the pickle crunch and dill taste and the fry was salty enough but not too much. My wife had a club sandwich and fries. It was thick with good quality meat and decent fries. The men in the group were jonesing for 24 hour breakfast. I did a meat lovers omelette (ham, sausage, hamburger, something else.) The omelette was perfect, the "grits" turned out to be cheese grits (really good), and the biscuit was yum. My friend went for ham and eggs and grits and a biscuit in sawmill gravy. My wife, an expert in all southern cooking things pronounced the gravy perfect, with the right amount of pepper. I noted that the ham slices were thick, and the ham was well cured but neither too sweet nor too salty. The restaurant opens for everyone on November 26. Based on the evidence that was in front of me (and wolfed down), all y'all in the Pigeon Forge area should go. Price point is not much more than the Cracker Barrel across the street, and the food is far better. read more
