Well I wrote a longer review,but it didn't post so I'll just make a shorter one... customer service is great, the electric tech was very helpful in answer questions while he installed the panels. The salesman didn't explain the tax credit clearly. Maybe sunlight can explain it clearer in response to this. The company is also a roofing company which helps out because once you install panels it voids roofing warranty.. the panels are German made and not cheap china made. Easy to clean with just a hose. And it saved me hundreds of dollars in electric bills. I'm very satisfied. read more

The callers are the height of rude and interrupt constantly to get their whole pitch out before I can even ask a question. Imagine choosing to be this type of human being in the short time we have here on earth... Anyways, I finally took the time to go through enough of their pitch to coax the saleswoman into giving me the company website name. So here I am telling you about the quality of people running this business... it's the kind who couldn't care less about you or your time. I made it a point about not wanting to see silver conduit on my roof, as other systems, and they went through the trouble of color matching the conduit to my roof tiles. The professionals at Sunlight Solar are outstanding. They installed solar panels two years ago, and this past January installed a solar battery. These two systems have enabled us to virtually go off grid. We export electricity to the grid during the day even into the SDG&E peak hour period of 4-9 PM, while our battery provides all our household loads. Our exports more than make up for the minimal usage we import from 9 PM to sunrise during the super off-peak period. Bonus is we have backup power in the event of a blackout! Update: Finally was able to get micro inverter replaced. It took about one month. The service tech was professional and nice. Did a good job and visually confirmed inverter was online. Only 4 stars due to the customer service issues and the lengthy scheduling process. As for value, fee seems high as it is double the cost compared to a San Diego resident. Again unfortunately the previous owner of the house purchased the system from Sunlight Solar so we have no choice but to contact them for warranty work and pay their fee. All in all, inverter is replaced and work was satisfactory. read more

At first, they were great but then the contract came that had materially different, conflicting terms from the proposal. They claimed it was a miscommunication but I reviewed the proposal a number of times and there are two separate times where it states the out of pocket is $1,000 and the loan financed with them (with favorable terms) was for $36,000. I accepted that proposal and then the contract came with $17,000 out of pocket and a loan amount of $19,500, a big change from what was discussed and what was represented in the proposal. I recommend you review all documents they send you in detail as they change the terms. read more

Please stay away from this company. I seriously doubt the reviews now though it was these reviews which made me select this company. The service is sub par. They did not update me during different stages of the installation. They come and work on your house without notice. They removed my AC wiring during installation and left. I had no heating for 2 days and I had to call my electrician to fix it ( Sunlight later reimbursed it) The worst was when I saw the total amount they charged me for an Qcell 365w 15 panel system with Enphase micro inverters. They charged me way higher then the latest 400 w panels. I regret selecting this company as now I learned that they charged me $7000 more than any other installer. Even after overcharging, I recently found that consumption meters (250-400 typically for a full install) was not installed and they wanted an additional 600 dollars for the same. Please do your homework. Get multiple quotes for same model systems from same manufacturer from different installers. Don't get cheated by dishonest people! read more
