Roof pealed up from top side and water soaked through causing wood to rot.

Don't expect them to follow through with warranty or even follow up with you after job is complete. Preman roofing replaced our entire roof and installed our solar in Oct 2019. The roof replacement and solar install went well however, we started a warranty repair in Aug 2023 and have yet to have the work completed properly. First, a tech was sent out and they did a temporary reseal on an area of roof that came up. I was told material is on order for proper repair. I was told a month later that the material had come in and someone would reach out to schedule repair...... Nothing....... Weeks go by and then was told that the tech doesn't work there and new tech would reach out and schedule..... Nothing! Called and emailed multiple times with the same response, "someone will reach out to schedule repair." Called yet again after a couple more weeks and was told they knew nothing of the repair... I then forwarded all emails and pics to their customers service with the same response, "someone will reach out in the next couple days." Nothing again! After calling and complaining that the damaged area is getting worse and needs to be repaired properly I was told everything got forwarded to the owner and still nothing... When asked for contact information for owner I was told they can't give that out... Really, no office number or business email????? I do not recommend this company. Disappointing to say the least.

Solar savings in January- we have a pool and AC, so we need it!

My husband and I had a leaky old roof/skylight that had already been repaired before, so I started looking into a full replacement. As I started my research, I began educating myself on solar and it's cost savings in addition to the tax incentives. We have a pool and our bill isn't cheap. This resulted in me shopping for MAINLY a roofing company (because what good is solar on a crappy roof?!) that could potentially instal solar as well. I met with a handful of companies varying from roofing only to solar only and others that combined them. We decided to invest in solar since the financing costs coming back (after the solar rebate) we're adding up to the same we paid monthly for our electric bill alone- we decided to actually pull the trigger and add HVAC to the mix. Preman subbed the HVAC out and was very transparent and organized in coordinating. I met with the subs personally before hand and was comfortable using the company they recommended and the quote they provided. (Not to ruin the ending but they ended up being awesome) Robert also I intro'd me to a lender with good rates and I started the loan process so we could finance everything and make this huge improvement on our home without taking a home equity loan out- I looked into that since I'm a Realtor and personally know many lenders- the lending/funding fees were actually insane. It financially would NOT have made sense doing it that way. Out of everyone I met with no one came close to being as organized, competent, and easy to work with as Preman. Every department has a leader and those leaders and I were looped into a daily email chain with updates, photos, and answers to any questions I had. It was really efficient. Any issues were addressed immediately and professionally. To be honest, they went above and beyond to turn on my solar on NEW YEARS EVE (the literal last day of 2019 for the rebate!!) so it really makes recommending them and leaving this review a no brainer. 100% call them.

I can't express how happy I am with the new roof I received from Preman roofing. I received a quote from Danny who gave me many options and even allowed me to make some significant changes to the original plan a few months later. When I finally started the project and sent in my deposit right before December I was a little concerned from the yelp reviews about delays and poor customer service. I called a few days later after they received their deposit and they said they would let me know when it would be added to their schedule as I really wanted to put my xmas lights up and had another remodeling project I wanted to get started on after the roof was completed. Within a few days they got back to me, let me know the schedule and they were out within 2 weeks and got the roof completed within 4 days! There was a lot of dry rot and termite damage which they offered I can repair on my own. I opted for their guy to make the repairs because he seemed really sharp and pointed out everything that needed to be replaced. What took him 5 hours probably would have taken me much longer to complete. I even gave him a few gallons of outdoor paint and he painted the primed repairs for me at no additional cost! All I can say is GREAT JOB! The repairs were great and the finished project was even better. My gutters actually work now as well! Beautiful Roof! Thanks again Preman Roofing! The main roofer and repair guy was out of this world and Vance the proj mgr was great as well! I even had time to have my xmas lights up for a week before Christmas!

If you're thinking about using Preman Roofing pay attention! I found this company through Home Advisor who set up an appointment for a free quote before I even knew anything about them. After looking at the Yelp reviews I was a bit concerned and you might be as well, but keep reading. It was a free quote so I went with it. I asked for a ballpark quote when Robert came to see our house and he said he didn't like giving rough estimates before calculating everything but he told me between $7,000 and $9,000 for our whole house reroof. I found some better quotes and planned on canceling Preman's follow up meeting, but the cancelation didn't go through in time and Robert showed up again at our house. I'm glad he did because he ended up coming in at $6,200 which was our second lowest quote and $500 under the guy I would have used. They didn't start work for another 3 weeks. At first, they were going to come on Friday and tear off the old shingles and leave everything else until Monday. It was supposed to rain Monday and the Yelp complaints are all about rain and damage. I raised my fears to Robert and the team and they assured me multiple times that the bad reviews all came from one freak storm and that in both instances they took care of any damages and made everything right. Even so, I asked if they could have it done before the rain or postpone starting until after. Their team generously agreed to work through the weekend. Friday, an unrelated contractor came at 7:30 AM and did the demo work until about noon. A supply company arrived shortly thereafter and loaded all the shingles on to our roof. At 1:30 Preman arrived and checked all damaged wood. We had approximately $800 extra in wood replacement (about what I expected as we had several leaks in our garage). I gave the okay and they began work. They put down black paper and made sure our roof was all sealed up for the night. Saturday they began work in earnest and almost finished completely. I don't quite understand what the foreman told me they still had left but they arrived Monday at 8 AM and beat the rain to get the last bits of finishing touches done. By 10:00 they were all cleaned up and gone. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves and cleaning our yard every day to make sure it was safe for my kids. If there's any grievance at all it's how they handled the flashing on the roof. Rather than make it look as it had before, they simply painted over the flashing so it wasn't silver but the flashing is still visible. At least it blends in with the rest of our house so as not to be too noticeable. The communication throughout the process was top notch and they were on time and hard working throughout the whole job. They completely finished our roof before moving on to the next job. I confidently recommend Preman Roofing and implore you to ignore bad reviews. If you have any concerns, voice them to Robert or the team and they'll do their best to accommodate you.

Acid damage from "clean-up". Driveway was new and needed to be replaced from their damage.

I rarely write reviews and when I do they are usually for a job well done. In this case I am doing so to benefit others so that they do not experience what we did. We should have checked the reviews before we took our contractor's suggestion with this company (I do not believe he had direct experience with them prior). They damaged our 18-month-old driveway (23k value) by pouring acid on it to "clean up" tire marks from their trucks. They also caused electrical damage with the solar work which could have caused a fire in our house had our lights not gone out and our electrician correcting their work. The roofing and solar was already an expensive job let alone all the problems caused from their mistakes. Their customer service was awful once things went wrong. After their "clean-up" and damage to our driveway we had to call and email them (often without reply) for over a year to resolve the damage. They kept passing us to different employees to reexplain the issue. I can't explain how frustrating this was. We understand that things can go wrong but it is how it is handled that is so important. Their driveway solution was the cheapest and fastest route which involved "painting" our driveway. When we didn't feel comfortable with their solution, we got our own quotes and input. All quotes said the driveway needed to be replaced because of the acid used on it. This is after we just had this whole driveway done less than two years before! Our electrician was appalled but the work that this company did. He does commercial work for big companies and is highly skilled. After Preman worked on our electrical for the solar, the wires were smoking/melting together and could have caused us to lose our house, possibly lives in a fire. When we told Preman about this they tried to switch the blame on our electrician but we had experience with our electrician for years and know his work is great so it made us even more frustrated. We spent so much of our time handling the pull and replace of our driveway and trying to get a solid solution for compensation from this company. They put a lean on our house (which was invalid since they did it too late) when we refused to pay the remainder of our job until an agreement on repair was set. It took us over a year to have the driveway resolved only because we diligently advocated for ourselves and retained a lawyer. We redid the driveway before we received payment through insurance as we didn't trust that it would be handled in a timely manner after their unresponsiveness. We absorbed the cost of the electrical work repair as we wanted to move on and away from our experience with this company. Wish I had positives to share but not for this company. They showed no empathy to their customers and made it clear that they are only concerned about collecting money over integrity and good customer service. It is comical that their website claims that they are the best and "trusted' in San Diego. Not in our experience!

Honestly, I have gone back and forth about writing a review. I decided to because I do not want this particular situation to happen to someone less informed. To start from the beginning, my roof is OWNED by my HOA, not myself. My HOA approved me replacing a portion of my roof in order to install solar, so long as I use a licensed and insured roofing contractor, and obtain ALL REQUIRED PERMITS. Danny Tarich, the Project Manager for my job, scheduled my re-roof WITHOUT getting the REQUIRED PERMIT, stating "Was not pulling a permit for this project. It is a partial small section." He did not consult me, as the contracting party, my HOA as the owner of the roof, and unilaterally decided getting a permit for a small job was inconsequential. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. This delayed my roof by over 4 weeks and could have gotten me sued by my HOA or cost me if I decided to sell my house. I contacted my City directly to confirm it WAS REQUIRED, but had I not, they would have done my re-roof without a permit and without even telling me the permit was required.

Cut off most of the support beams.

The crew arrived on time every day, kept the worksite clean (they did a full cleanup at the end of each day), and treated my property with respect throughout the project. The quality of the installation itself was top-notch--exactly what you want when you're investing in something as critical as your roof. A special callout to Dylon, the project manager. His communication was exceptional--clear, proactive, and consistent. He stayed directly involved throughout the job, which made a big difference in ensuring everything went smoothly. It's rare to see that level of hands-on management. They also handled the solar panel dismount and reinstall flawlessly, which is not a trivial task. Even though I'm now upgrading my system due to the NEM 3.0 transition, their work made that process seamless. Post-installation support has been just as impressive. They've continued to be responsive and helpful, especially coordinating around my new solar project--something many companies tend to disappear on after the job is done. Pricing was very reasonable for the level of quality and service provided. And as a bonus--no nonsense on the job site. Unlike some other crews I've seen in the neighborhood, these guys were professional the entire time. Bottom line: excellent workmanship, strong communication, fair pricing, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. Highly recommended.

So I developed a roof leak at our home and the existing roof was at least 25 years old so it was now time for roof replacement! I did my research and contacted the owner Troy whom was very thorough and informative during our conversation and he answered all of my concerns. The next step was to have my roof inspected, address any concerns and formulate an estimated cost for recommended repair. The estimator Dylon spent nearly 45 minutes performing a complete and thorough inspection. I have solar panels and gas lines mounted on our roof which complicated the roof replacement process. Good news is San Diego County Roofing (SDCR) partners with a great solar company and therefore de-activating the solar system, solar panel(s) removal, replacement and re-activation of the solar system is all taken care of through SDCR. Also SDCR warranties all work provided by their partnering solar company. I chose SDCR to replace my roof and what a great decision it was. I was updated and kept informed through each and every step of of the roof replacement process. I had some wood issues (rotting, worn out etc...) and the cost for the wood replacement was very reasonable. Tarps were laid out to cover our pool and artificial turf and after each day the residence was thoroughly cleaned of debris. Edgar the supervisor was always available whenever I had any questions or concerns. Also Dylon was always "Keeping tabs" with the progress and kept me informed of any issues and offered options when applicable. I felt very comfortable knowing that Dylon was always "on top" of things! Upon completion of the job, Juan invited me to view the new roof replacement and informed me of all that had been done and answered all of my questions and concerns. He even explained that my flat roof section of the garage had 2 sheets of "roofing" (know as "torch down") installed as compared to 1 sheet of roofing which most roofing companies provide, something I wouldn't have known. Everything was great and I was extremely satisfied EXCEPT one big problem! Apparently during the process of replacing my roof, a section of my newly installed artificial turf in the front of my house became damaged. I contacted Troy to discuss this big concern not knowing what to expect. After our discussion he instructed me to have the turf replaced and that I would be reimbursed for any and all cost. I had the artificial turf replaced at a cost of $2,200 and true to his word troy had a company check in the amount of $2,200 sent to my house within (1) week. So rest assured SDCR will give you phenomenal service. The company is professional, honest and transparent every step of the way from start to completion. This company has proved should something go wrong, they will make it "right". I highly recommend SDCR and I'm so glad I made the right choice! You should make the right choice too!

They really are the best at what they do -- and they do soooo much! There should be absolutely no doubt in your decision to tackle any project with them, big or small. Just go ahead and book them now and save yourself the time and energy of searching. They truly understand how important your home is to you, inside and out, so they won't disappoint. Maybe most importantly, if any random issue does arise (which it always does with a big project), they will be on top of it immediately! We worked with CRS on both a full roof replacement and a MAJOR bathroom remodel. We were lucky enough to be referred to Liza by a trusted local contractor friend for our roof repair. We got multiple quotes from roofing companies, as it was a big expense for us, but no one understood or communicated better than Liza. Not only did she offer a better product and solution, she also came in more affordable than all the other bids! Her team did such an amazing job on our roof that we reached out to Liza again a few years later for our full bathroom remodel. Oh man -- there's really no way to put into words how much of a project this bathroom was to take on. We ripped the old bathroom down to the studs, expanded its footprint, and fully rebuilt it into a glorious, resort spa-style sanctuary. Major vibe and an inconceivable space upgrade! Liza and her lead builder worked side by side with me daily throughout the entire process. From planning to purchasing, demo to details, problems to solutions -- they nailed it. We inevitably encountered some "fun" issues like improper support beams and suspect wiring, but they always pivoted and solved each problem quickly and thoroughly. The team's positive attitude and good spirits were also a notable and welcome part of the experience. This isn't my first major project, and let's face it -- you don't often get to work with true pros who are both really good at what they do and genuinely good, happy people. They are! It's been a few months since we finished the project, so I feel bad that I didn't get this review up sooner. We just couldn't seem to put everything they accomplished for us and our home into a concise synopsis. We wanted to gush about every little thing, but in the end, all you really need to know is that we were 100% satisfied, and you should feel 100% confident teaming up with CRS to successfully bring your next project and vision to life. Seriously -- feel free to message me with any specific questions about our experience with the roof and/or the bathroom remodel!

Review Update: After…read moremy initial review, Eric (the sales rep) and Matt (the owner) of Sunline personally reached out to me and was apologetic about the situation. They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

Nobody wants to buy a new roof. It's expensive and often unexpected. The process of evaluating…read moreroofing services/pricing is time consuming. My project has a 28-panel solar system (lease) - so I was up against the additional obstacle of coordinating with the solar group to take those down (and put them back up) so the roof could be accessed. Nick at RC Roofing made himself readily available before, during, and after the project. He answered all of my questions fully and clearly. He explained everything in a way I could understand, and I never felt rushed as I was talking with him. He even helped me coordinate/communicate with the solar group to ensure all the timing worked out, and to ensure the solar group didn't pierce/damage the new roof upon reinstall. If you're evaluating roofers, this is your group. If their proposal wasn't the lowest you received, I'd still recommend them, as you can't put a pricepoint on reliability and communication.

We selected RC roofing over the others based on the knowledge and openness of Nick. Our decision was a good one. The re-roofing took about five days. Like Nick and Rick, the crew were extremely competent, courteous and kept the premises clean throughout the whole process. I highly recommend RC Roofing and rate them the best contractor we have ever used on our house.

Eli came…read moreout and provided me with a prompt estimate for both the remediation and the external repairs on the roof. Price was very reasonable. Crew came out and did the remediation on the interior and then on closer inspection of the outside realized it was not the roof, but a significant crack in the stucco that was the source of the water. Peak Builders did not miss a beat. They brought in a stucco crew who cleared out the old stucco around the crack, discovering that my house did not have proper water protection behind the original stucco, so repairing this was not a small job. _Yet without my asking Peak Builders honored the original price quote for the roof_. This was huge. They then took on the interior work. looks as good as new and they always cleaned up after their work. I will definitely use Peak Builders again.

My experience with Peak Builders and their warranty:…read more This review covers my experience in hiring PB to fix a leak at our house (cost $20K+). The leak was via a wall or where the wall met slab, buried beneath an elevation. After purchasing the house, we discovered several leaks in different areas of the house. The leak PB was hired to fix was the only one that was found in a particular area/wall, isolated from other leaks. After completing the fix, the house was sold. Upon heavy rains starting again in San Diego, the leak was found to still be present by the buyers. This review is based on inspection reports and insurance claims, an engineering report, and documented responses of PB to the new buyers. I removed the first review owing to PB bringing up potential for a defamation lawsuit, so am keeping this one based solely on documented facts (inspections, insurance claim, documented response of PB to new buyers). Many of these are resulting from a very expensive settlement from us to the new buyers after PB declined to accept their responsibility to the failure of their fix and the related warranty, thus we have paid for the leak to be addressed a second time. Note that the lawsuit covered this leak, as well as other issues unrelated to what PB were hired to address. Note also that an engineering report of the house that we paid for separately from PB included input on how to fix the leak, which was more dramatic than what PB suggested. Based on oral conversations with PB at the time, we believed the scoped work was undertaken to address the leak, and that the warranty covered the leak being fixed. After we discovered the leak, the area was inspected by other contractors, as well as an engineer, and was part of an insurance claim. PB was hired to fix the leak. As licensed experts, PB determined the appropriate steps and scope of work. This was performed over many weeks, digging up the side of the house, exposing the wall and corner that the leak was observed from inside the house, waterproofing and treating the wall. The contract with PB detailed the intended scope of work. After the leak was re-discovered, and through recent conversations with PB, they are claiming they were not hired to fix the leak, but instead to complete only the details scoped in the contract, and that they are not responsible for the leak. Their claim (IMO) is that they did complete the scoped work and the warranty does not cover the leak, only the work that they performed, and that they are not responsible for the leak. Their interpretation, if accurate, is that we hired them to perform work unrelated to the leak. My recommendation for others that intend to hire PB is to ensure that the contract and scope of work point directly to why the work is being undertaken (e.g. fix a leak), and that it is stated within the contract that the work and cost, and the warranty, cover the GOAL of the work, not just details of the work they will perform. Otherwise, it leaves them an out to claim that they did the work that was scoped, and that that work was not necessarily done to address an issue, with the warranty not covering the issue.
