Great market! I was in the area and decided to stop by on a whim on a Sunday afternoon, surprisingly no crowds! Amazing prices on produce and meat. Mostly Middle Eastern and Eastern European products. Rows of spices, herbs, oils, grains, breads, cheese, teas, juices, dried nuts and fruits, exotic candies, etc. The liquor section is pretty impressive as well. This market also carries Harris Ranch beef that's fresh - meaning it hasn't been sitting at the meat counter for eternity. The produce area is a hit and miss, but mostly a hit. Just gotta sort out your pick... did I mention great prices? Bye, bye Ralphs! The market itself kinda reminds me of a smaller Super King Market, but with better crowd control and more organized. Employees were constantly wiping down carts and the market is clean. I give this market 5stars bc the amount of money one can save shopping here! *Parking plenty * Area pretty safe, some random homeless, otherwise safe.

Like any other store you need to know what is on sale. It's an old store but not the dirtiest.

Cleaner than before. It's an old store but the stuff on sale is cheap. For some reason asparagus is never cheap here. Aldi has good asparagus for cheap. Cabbage was 3 lbs for 99 cents. Really nice. Vast selection of mid east stuff.

This place is AMAZING! At breakfast at our favorite diner, a lady mentioned this place, it was just a couple of freeway exits from where we already were so we were like, "why not?". If you are familiar, it's a lot like Super King, but better. More interesting items that I haven't seen before. I was like a tourist taking photos of labels and products that were new to me. We bought the Organic Bulgarian probiotic yogurt... so delicious and good for the gut. It's so good that it doesn't need to be pared with anything. We bought produce, Parrot coconut Curries in a can to sauces up some veggies, and some frozen desserts. The sale items have great prices, I bought Roasted Sweet Red peppers for a great deal at $2.99 a jar!

Expired 4/10/25 bought on 4/14/25. Was definitely spoiled.

They're selling expired products. This expired 4 days ago and was definitely spoiled. Unfortunately it takes me an hour to get there so I will not be able to return it. I love this store's unique products but you have to be careful what you are buying.

The rotten cheese. I bought 4 cheeses. And this one was rotten. Although the expiration date is May 10 24. today is 4/23/2024!

Things they sell are not fresh! And when problem arise, customer service will be rude & disrespectful like it happened to me. I was a regular shopper up until now, the store is located right where I live. I purchased several cheeses and one of them was rotten. The store manager was rejecting everything i would say, and not wanting to listen to me. So did her manager when I asked for the store manager. He was just as unprofessional and not well business oriented. I broke it down to him that I spend over $500 a month at that store and he's going to ditch me over a $5 cheese?!?!? He was careless about everything. Wouldn't listen to what I was saying and spoke over me. They don't do good business, there's no trust in their products!

This is not the store it used to be. They have gotten greedy. Totally over priced! There are much better stores that are more reasonable.

Do they carry roasted water melon seeds?

Sure do salted or. Unsalted plus a whole aile of seeds nuts candies chips dried fruit

Is it true that the deli is open instead of selling deli all packaged?

yes i went 2 months ago and it was open

Why is the deli meat section sealed off with a white wooden board. I wanted to buy some prosciutto and it was packaged. I 2anted to taste a small piece b4 i buy in order to make sure it wasn't too salty?

I asked management about this. I was told that they had a lot of their clerks calling out sick resulting in long lines and people getting upset so they closed it and instead put pre-cut, pre-measured stuff in the refrigerated section.…

FOOD We found a lovely variety of fresh meats just ready to be cooked looking all kinds of delicious and my friend found the rabbit she was looking for at $11.99/lb. We got that and an assortment of herbs and spices to go with it. Everything looked so good we will definitely be going back. SERVICE Everyone was very helpful and gave great customer service. They even made some recommendations for other items we were curious about. Even the patrons were friendly and as we waited to be helped we shared recipes and talked about what we'd be getting and what we'd be making for dinner with what we got here. AMBIANCE It was a chill environment. The employees were kind and helpful. The place was a HUGE store with a grand variety of everything you could need. I saw some artisan honeys and international candy and pastry options. HONORABLE MENTION The entrance is along the backside which is the opposite side of the Main Street. I drove all the way from San Diego to get my grandma's favorite empanadas that resides in Walnut, CA--but not no more! The entire market is completely disgusting and disorganized! The whole place looked dirty and everything was like on top of each other. It looked like a mechanics shop rather than a meat market/restaurant. The 2 glass meat display refrigerators were not working and parts of the metal case had come undone. The floor was dirty and who knows when it was last cleaned. I ordered 12 chicken empanadas. To my surprise, when I got home, the empanadas were green and black (see photo). Since, they smelled funny, I threw them out since I didn't want my 80 year old grandma getting food poisoning! The owner should be ashamed of herself and needs to close down this dump!

I really wish I can gatekeep this place so bad, but at the same time, this place is so popular that…read morethere really is no need to gatekeep. I first found out about Handy Market on social media for their weekend BBQ about a month ago. As I had been craving bbq for a couple weeks now, I found today to be the best opportunity to give them a try. I placed an order for pick up the night before. I got kind of carried away with the order, as I wanted to try almost everything on the menu. The prices were absolutely insane! I think I ended up paying about 65 dollars for food that would easily feed me for a good 3 or 4 days. When I arrived to pick up my order at my pick up time, I had noticed my order was being packed. I asked the employees if I can leave my order with them for a bit so that I can pick up some meat inside the market. They obliged, and I went to the meat counter to order my beef back ribs to cook for tomorrow. For 5 pounds, I ended up paying about $34, which was definitely a bargain. They were also selling breakfast burritos and sandwiches in the store, which I found to be awesome. I took everything home and opened my bag of spoils. After I took everything out, I statted thinking of what I wanted to eat first and what I wanted to save for later. It was so much food that I thought I could feed an entire army. Definitely will be back for the breakfast burritos and sandwiches, and for the meats again, for sure!

As a loyal customer of this establishment for over two decades, I have consistently visited the…read moredeli and meats department at least once a month. However, I am compelled to rate this establishment one star due to a particularly unpleasant experience with a female deli employee whose first name begins with the letter "J." Despite my frequent visits, the overall customer service in the deli and meats department has declined. The season butchers have been replaced with individuals lacking the necessary experience and customer courtesy that were previously present. Over the past three months, I have encountered the same issues with this particular employee. It is important to note that the fee charged for slicing a Tri Tip into a carton container is not the primary concern. The issue lies in the employee's behavior and attitude, specifically their unwillingness to properly wrap the sliced meat. This has occurred on multiple occasions, most recently at the checkout counter when the cashier pull the foil-wrapped package from the plastic bag causing the juices of the meat to spill all over the counter. This has happened to me every time this employee has served me. The Tri Tip sliced meat is dry and devoid of juices due to this careless employee's failure to wrap the meat carefully. It is imperative that this situation be addressed. Management should provide this employee, "J," with proper training on how to wrap sliced food correctly. Additionally, it is crucial the ambiance that all employees, including the deli and butcher employees, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor. A salutation is always appreciated. Despite these concerns, the BBQ remains outstanding as always.
