My bf and I have been to this location multiple times over the last couple of years. Although it's a bit out of the way and a little bit of a drive for us, they have a great whiskey selection. I'm not a whiskey drinker but my bf has confirmed that this location has stuff you don't really see anywhere, such as rare finds. We decided to take another trip this past weekend since we found out from friends that this specific location had a Pokémon Center Vending Machine. We were shocked to hear it and had to make an immediate trip to see if it was true. We were SUPER stoked to find out that it does in fact have one!! Unbelievable and hoping this lasts a long time. We don't have these things out here, let alone an actual, physical Pokémon center store, so this was the closest thing. I'm hoping this is one step closer to having an actual store one day! Great and convenient machine to fix your pokemon card needs. Same prices as the website but you get it immediately rather than waiting like a week to ship/deliver. So far this grocery store location is getting better and better! IG: @ammysalamii

This is a nice Vons with a lot of parking, a Starbucks inside and even have someone give out samples of wine for people to taste. I stopped by this Vons on a Friday night because I was going to grab dinner with my friends at a place inside the same plaza. I was early and remember I had to get more ramen noodles so I went inside this Vons to see if they have them. They didn't have the shrimp flavor one that I wanted so I went with the beef flavor one they had. I also walked around the grocery store and look at the meat and seafood options, the deli, the cakes and overall store.

I wish there was an option of a zero to give this location. I visited this location for lunch meat from deli and instantly got a severe attitude from the deli clerk gentleman. Telling me "To wait a min" after finally acknowledging me after waiting for 5mins. I then requested sliced turkey maple glazed. He proceeded to give me ham. I requested again glazed maple turkey. He then gave me the turkey but covered the package he was cutting so I could not see it. I went all the way home got there and it was Mesquite TURKEY but the wrapped package with ticket said maple glazed turkey. I went back to the store and requested to speak with a Manager. The Manager Claudia who was also working register 3 told me to just go back to the deli they would fix it. I told her if you were able to take the time to listen to my story you would understand why going back to the deli won't fix this issue. Then she immediately gets an attitude and starts talking to the other customers about me being irate, when all I wanted to do was to explain my situation. I now understand where the employee get there rude behavior to customers from. Management should definitely be more professional and understanding with customers. I will NEVER spend my hard earned money on any establishment that is extremely rude and refuse to help the customer. Note: I am hopeful there are better managers at this location but its unfortunate Claudia isn't one of them!!!

Yadira on her phone ignoring customers

Yadira has horrible customer service, was extremely rude, shoved my receipt in my face without even looking at me. Ignored all of her customers while two women kept interrupting any of us being able to be checked out. And then proceeded to ignore the next customer until he grabbed his stuff and went to another lame because she was on her personal cellphone. Fire her honestly. Ridiculous

Basically the only 24 hour supermarket for miles, which is a godsend. Great for people-watching too if you come really late at night... the SFV certainly has no shortage of characters.

I have been at this Vons few times before and enjoyed my shopping experience. Paula at the deli was amazing. She was so friendly, helpful and overall cheerful. I usually hate dealing with the deli department at stores but todays experience was different thanks to Paula. This store is always organized and well stocked. The cashier that helped me was also friendly and energetic. I love a store with great service. There are so many options to chose from but the ones with good customers service bring you back.

I've been shopping at Vons for years. This particular location has always been clean and the service friendly. Unfortunately, Vons has been contributing to the "Shrink-flation" we all have been experiencing. Wow! A week earlier, I bought the mixed greens which came in the 1LB package for $5; The week I was shocked when I went to buy the same pack and found this...the same greens for $5 but the package only contained 11oz. What can I say...... Very disappointed.

$5 Fridays.

From the moment I walked in, the customer service really stood out. I was approached by staff at least three different times, each one kindly asking if I needed help finding anything. It didn't feel forced or overbearing, just genuinely attentive and thoughtful. When I did have a question, I ended up speaking with the store manager, Justus, and he was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough in helping me. You can tell he really cares about both the customers and the store experience. That level of service is rare these days, and it honestly made my whole visit feel easy and enjoyable. It definitely left a lasting impression and makes me look forward to my next visit. Big thank you to the team for going above and beyond.

Those are good too but not as good as a handmade one. Pro-tip they have cool kid lunches. Perfect for a field trip. Sprouts also has a self serve nuts/candy/dried fruits sold by the pound. Lots of organic and good for the soul stuff. I am a fan.

When I selected that option, it rang up as $2.49 instead. I called over the attendant to fix it, since you obviously need an employee to delete or correct an item. I explained the situation, and he looked at me like I was asking him to do something outrageous. He even looked at my friend to say, "Is she really asking me?" It was honestly uncomfortable and unnecessary. Who else would I ask.. All I needed was help correcting a pricing error. It was Sunday around 3 PM and the store wasn't even busy, so I don't understand the rude attitude. If you're assigned to self-checkout, assisting customers with issues is literally part of the job. Customer service makes a difference, even during small interactions. This one just left a bad impression.

This store has greatly improved. This place was so bad for a moment when I started coming here…read moreagain almost 3 years ago now. But what has changed is the rude staff are all gone (in my experience), everyone who is there now is friendly or at least neutral to me. Better than rude or awful. The speed at which checkout moves is fast or at least acceptable now. It used to be extremely slow, but it's greatly improved. You also used to close the self check out relatively early which now I notice you do NOT, which I am VERY appreciative of. Frankly I just can do it much faster than anyone and I prefer it to get in and out quickly, so thank you for keeping it in place and open later than you used to, that keeps the human cashier lines manageable. I'll buy wine so that's why I may need the human to help me out. But nothing more annoying to me than it being 10pm and there's 1 mile long line with full carts and all I need is 2-3 things, well that experience pretty much doesn't happen anymore which is very much appreciated. I find your evening staff to be notably most friendly, they're talkative but not obnoxious or slow and I feel comfortable coming through the line if I have to. There's a couple annoying things, like a few annoyingly narrow spots you have in extremely busy areas, I can't figure out why you have so much stuff directly in front of the cereal + chips aisle. People cannot pass through there easily, every single time I come here I bump into someone, like easily a 99% success rate that I'm going to crash into someone. That's not good. Same goes for too much stuff down the middle of the cheese/deli meat section near the bank, makes passing nearly impossible at times, then again near the self checkout you always have a lot of liquor which makes passing difficult. Customers don't like having to pretend it's a stop sign intersection to pass by, we just want to shop not have an island of liquor impeding progress. Another thing that bugs me is this is the only Ralph's that doesn't put clearance tags on the frozen food section stuff. Why? I've gotten mixed answers. One guy told me it's because the tags don't stay on because the packaging is wet from the freezer, well that's BS because other Ralph's stores do it just fine and the stickers aren't coming off. But another time I saw a guy at the self checkout take something from a woman who said she didn't want it anymore, so he went directly to the clearance door and just chucked it in there. So basically he didn't have time or care to find the true location (fair, he's working self checkout not restock) and so it ends up in the clearance spot, when it's not actually priced as so. Which makes people just buy it because they think it so on sale when it's not! A third time, I asked how to even know what the clearance price is? The guy told me "you find out it at the register". Well I want to know now, not when you ambush me into it and then we find out it's not on discount and you just throw it back into the discount section to repeat the cycle. Isn't that insane? Ultimately though the 2 gripes aren't going to keep me out of here anytime soon, I just thought it may be worth explaining.

Imagine rows of radicchio, rainbow chard, exquisite endive, squash blossoms, sunchokes and artichokes, fennel with their fronds tangled in long red chilies surrounded by pungent herbs like perilla, lovage, tarragon. An extra star just for that. But... My only gripe is their weekly Saturday BBQ. Through the years I have enjoyed both kinds of ribs, the brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken that they cook and smoke right outside in the parking lot. Even if you don't see it, you'll smell it within a couple blocks. I can't think of a better way to promote a bbq business and Handy Market knows it. They're counting on all the new customers who get lured in by the intoxicating scent of grilled meats on live fire to try this sad, sorry excuse that they call BBQ. All the meats are dry, tasteless and overcooked. They do not season any of the meat, not even a lick of salt. They want you to buy their sugary bbq sauce and baste them on the grill. Meaning you still have to finish cooking it at home but it was tasty enough and the price was low so it was worth doing for many years. Lately though, it's been expensive and inedible. The quality of all the meat has become sus and I was sold the driest beef ribs with texture like leather, that they probably dug up from the back of a freezer and a smelly turkey leg that's left over from like, Thanksgiving. My homemade bbq sauce could not save either meat and suffice to say I will never order barbecue from here again. What's happened to you, Handy Mart? I just can't believe you've slipped so far. This is the worst bbq in all of LA and I cannot recommend anyone eating here. Those brave souls who do not heed this cautionary tale cannot say you haven't been warned. Good luck.

A lot of the premade food is also great, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into the selection of their items. The flavor of most of their items is as good as anywhere else, and there are serious savings to be found there. That said, the other side of the coin is that the store is not always efficient. It takes them a long time to update their pricing once they're out of an item, and when they're running great deals, I'll regularly get excited to see there's a huge sale, look for the item the sale is referring to, and find that the item's been out of stock already for days. This has happened to me at least 10 times. There was also a period of several months in the past year where the entire dairy aisle was off limits due to an issue with the building, which made it impossible to buy any dairy from them for months at a time. Not to pile on, but it would be much appreciated if they kept one more person on register at any given time. The lines can get really long. All that said, I really do like ALDI, and I hope they can correct a bit and take some of the constructive criticism from a person who's a big fan of what they do. I'll be back soon!
