I desperately needed a large grocery store open at 2am recently and saw Vons at this location was open. This was the first time I've shopped there. After awhile I started to find what I needed and picked up a few other items as well. Was very surprised at how many shoppers were there at this time. I can't say enough about the cashier. She was very helpful and patient as I was fumbling through the checkout. The produce was good, as were the prices and the cashier made sure I received all the discounts available, which were significant. Overall an experience that was better than expected!!! read more

They sold me a counterfeit gift card for $100. I went back to them and the bookkeeper took my gift card and said they would call me in a few weeks to pick up my $100. Never heard from them and so I returned in a few months and talked to Carlos the manager who was extremely rude. He said to call corporate. I called corporate and they referred me back to Carlos. Well, I figured that was a waste of time. I been going to Vons in Burbank for years and spent a lot of money there. Guess what? Now I go to Ralph's and Trader Joe's. This is my go-to grocery store. I love their selection and their rewards program through their app. I've never had any difficulties finding what I need. It has a great selection, it's clean, and the employees have always been friendly. I also appreciate that this store values inclusivity and gives meaningful employment opportunities to people who might not always be given the chance elsewhere. The only thing that has been a bit of a hassle has been renting their rug cleaners. The wait is often long (been stuck waiting for assistance for more than 30 mins on multiple occasions). I was also given a faulty rug cleaner that I had to come back and have replaced, which was kind of annoying to have to lug it back to the store and then once again wait to get a properly working one. But, all that aside, this continues to be my favorite store. read more

I've been going to this vons for years but it's taken quite a dip lately. The other night, I was verbally accosted by an employee who looked like he was about to snap! First - as a store there's nothing terribly wrong. It's an average supermarket. Priced more fairly than Gelson's or Whole Foods, sometimes the quality is lacking but you get what you pay for. It's clean and well organized. The parking lot gets a little crowded but always has space. Typically, I use the Vons app to purchase groceries and go pick them up. I find the Vons employees know their own products better than instacart shoppers. Also the service is free. Which is nice. This location has no dedicated parking spots for online orders, they recommend you double park up front in the red to grab your stuff. The downside with the vons app is that if they do need to make a substitution and you try and chat with them via the app they basically ignore you. Two nights ago I used the app with a big thanksgiving order. I kept trying to schedule pick up times and kept having to push them later. I guess because the size of the order? The app didn't make it clear. Anyway. I had to go at 8pm to pick up. Fine. They did say they were out of one item (which I later went in the store and found on display right up front! Boo) but other than that I got what I needed. Here's the fun part! I get home an they call me and say THEY forgot three bags can I please come back and call this number and they will get them to me. Annoying but fine. I go back and call the number. It's to some main line and I have to wade through a menu and I get customer service. The person that picks up says they have no idea what I'm talking about and they put me on hold... for like 5-10 min. So I hang up and decide to just go inside and sort it out. The person at the front handling the self check out is there and I ask him. Turns out he's the customer service guy that picked up the phone. Shorter Caucasian man, skinny with a scruffy like beard. I didn't catch his name unfortunately. He looks at me with this glare of disgust and again says he has no idea what I'm talking about and if I left groceries it's MY fault and I should just leave. I said something to the effect of "you can't talk to me that way" (his tone was giving) and he doubled down, if a look could kill I was murdered, and in a few paraphrased words told me to "get lost" (his words weren't so nice) What also didn't help was all the other employees nearby basically burying their heads in the sand. I could see them glancing as we almost got into a fist fight. But not a single person, not a one intervened. Now I'm a fairly large in shape guy and I think that probably saved me any further damage. Luckily the guy ran out with my groceries. I demanded to speak to a manager. Talked to some night assistant manager who did little more than say he would talk to the guy and his boss. I'm telling you. Look I get it. It's thanksgiving time and the employee was probably spent. But that doesn't give you the right to talk rude or down to others. And while he did NOT threaten me with violence, he seemed unhinged and it's only a matter of time till this guy snaps if he doesn't get his personal stuff in order. I won't be going back here until corporate reaches out to me and they let me know this individual no longer works here or is at least enrolled in some kind of anger management course. And I suggest anyone else shopping here at least be careful. Bummer. This used to be so. Okay place to go to. But the staff just doesn't handle customer service right at all anymore. read more

Employees and general atmosphere. Can't maneuver the isles because of stocking the shelves at any hour of the day. Shouldn't the shelves be stocked at night. Everything clean and in its place. Floors done, etc. The store is 24 hours a day. This has been our store for 40 years. We were here for the last remodel and it needs another. My bf and I have been to this location multiple times over the last couple of years. Although it's a bit out of the way and a little bit of a drive for us, they have a great whiskey selection. I'm not a whiskey drinker but my bf has confirmed that this location has stuff you don't really see anywhere, such as rare finds. We decided to take another trip this past weekend since we found out from friends that this specific location had a Pokémon Center Vending Machine. We were shocked to hear it and had to make an immediate trip to see if it was true. We were SUPER stoked to find out that it does in fact have one!! Unbelievable and hoping this lasts a long time. We don't have these things out here, let alone an actual, physical Pokémon center store, so this was the closest thing. I'm hoping this is one step closer to having an actual store one day! I used to shop here. And I keep trying! But they allow solicitors and there is a solicitor outside every single time I try to go here. Not their fault, it's mine, but I don't have the spine to say no to people, and I can't afford anything. So when I see someone outside selling something, I get back in my car and find another grocery store. So they are losing my money. And I know it is MY fault I have no backbone, not theirs, but I am bumping them down to 4 stars due to allowing solicitors. This is a nice Vons with a lot of parking, a Starbucks inside and even have someone give out samples of wine for people to taste. I stopped by this Vons on a Friday night because I was going to grab dinner with my friends at a place inside the same plaza. I was early and remember I had to get more ramen noodles so I went inside this Vons to see if they have them. They didn't have the shrimp flavor one that I wanted so I went with the beef flavor one they had. I wish there was an option of a zero to give this location. I visited this location for lunch meat from deli and instantly got a severe attitude from the deli clerk gentleman. Telling me "To wait a min" after finally acknowledging me after waiting for 5mins. I then requested sliced turkey maple glazed. He proceeded to give me ham. I requested again glazed maple turkey. He then gave me the turkey but covered the package he was cutting so I could not see it. I went all the way home got there and it was Mesquite TURKEY but the wrapped package with ticket said maple glazed turkey. I went back to the store and requested to speak with a Manager. The Manager Claudia who was also working register 3 told me to just go back to the deli they would fix it. I told her if you were able to take the time to listen to my story you would understand why going back to the deli won't fix this issue. Then she immediately gets an attitude and starts talking to the other customers about me being irate, when all I wanted to do was to explain my situation. I now understand where the employee get there rude behavior to customers from. Management should definitely be more professional and understanding with customers. I will NEVER spend my hard earned money on any establishment that is extremely rude and refuse to help the customer. I have been at this Vons few times before and enjoyed my shopping experience. Paula at the deli was amazing. She was so friendly, helpful and overall cheerful. I usually hate dealing with the deli department at stores but todays experience was different thanks to Paula. This store is always organized and well stocked. Unsatisfactory. Being rude is a requirement to work at this establishment. I waited 10 minutes at the deli. Two associates passed by, I asked both of them for assistance. They said they would call for someone. After waiting another 5 minutes, I went to the front myself and asked a cashier for help. She put her hand out and said "give me a minute". I asked her if I could get assistance at the deli. She then rudely and sarcastically asked "so you want me to call someone at the deli?". Obviously... anyways. After another 5 minutes of waiting, I asked the manager Claudia if she could get someone to assist me, that I had been waiting for 20 minutes. This Vons is my favorite place to shop. They have great sales and they often have amazing cakes at the clearance section in the back. The Friday $5 sushi special is delicious and Ma behind the counter is incredibly sweet. But I think my favorite thing about this store is their night manager Claudia. Carlos the manager is rude to customers and the staff working. I came in to see if I can get store credit because the night before I purchased salmon that was bad. I had a receipt and he asked if I had the salmon which I replied with I didn't because I didn't want to carry smelly salmon around. I didn't get to check it out the night before because the butcher had wrapped it up quickly. Instead of getting an apology I get a rude response that next time I have to bring it in order for them to do anything . I encountered the rudest manager at checkout. The rewards program has completely changed. I used to just take a photo for a digital coupon, but now I have to 'clip' it, which I didn't know. When I showed the manager the picture and asked for help, he was rude instead of just showing me how to do it. What's frustrating is that the program takes points away as you're trying to accumulate them, and if you don't instruct it properly, it does things on its own. You'd think they would inform their employees about these changes instead of shrugging their shoulders when asked. It wasn't even crowded, so they definitely could have taken a second to explain it. This place sucks! From rotten produce to incompetent staff. Came here a few nights ago slipped on something thick and white on the floor almost fell and staff couldn't be bothered to help. I asked for help to clean the mess off me and the guy working the cashier just kept swiping groceries and ignored me. Asked again and he said I heard you and kept swiping. Even another shopper was like wow that is dangerous you could have been seriously hurt. Not a single staff member gave a crap nor came to help. Had to find myself something to clean the mess off me. Believe the Latino female manager was there at the time and she was over at the Starbucks counter ignoring me as well. Guess nobody gets paid enough to stock fresh product and care if someone falls/almost falls in a large spill staff stepped over themselves. I'll give it one star because I generally like Vons, but this is the most unpleasant grocery store I've ever experienced. Not only are the prices high, but the people working there are very rude. I generally try to avoid it, but sometimes late at night, it's the only option close by. On multiple occasions they've posted special sale prices under the items on the shelves, but when you get to the register, they charge you full price. When you bring it to their attention, they get aggravated. The checkers also have a tendency to ring the items up before you have a chance to put your check card info into the reader. They don't stock bags for whatever reason at the self-checkout stations, and the self-checkout clerk won't bring you one while you're scanning your items--she expects you to stop everything and walk over to her. A few times late at night, I've had stockers roll up their carts right on my heels while I'm getting something off the shelf, acting like I'm inconveniencing them. I don't get it. It's in a very nice area with prices like Erewhon, but the ambience feels passive-aggressive as hell. As a result, despite its convenient location, I consider it my last resort shopping spot. read more

Went in for digital cherries 2.99 and had 2 clearance items. 1.49 50% off. Angel rings total 14.00 around. I had the digital coupon Scanned my phone and item wouldn't scan!! Charged me 4.99 for the two items that should be .57 cents. Couldn't get it right after 4 times ringing this up! Carlos said he would take care of it. That was a mess. He couldn't get it right he can up with 8.00 something. He rang up a couple of time. He was very rude. I asked for the mangers and he said he was the manager. I said I am a customer and he shouldn't be rude. He said he didn't care. I asked for the district mgr name and he said he wouldn't give it to me. So I told him I was calling corporate office now he said he didn't care. As I was walking by the desk I asked another employee if they knew the name of the district supervisor. Gabe said I'm the store manager. I said to him Carlos said he was the store manager. Carlos yelled over that I swore at him. I did not!!! Told Gabe the manager what had happened he said he would take care of it. I told him I was still calling corporate office I called corporate. This location is not only completely intractable and far from kept, it has absolutely no respect for its shoppers. I recently visited Vons and witnessed a young lady being harassed and racially profiled at the self-checkout. As an ally and a board member of several other leading allying organizations in the state, I am mystified at the lack of care handled. So completely inconsiderate to the other shoppers witnessing such an offense! Not to mention there not being a single manager around at the time this was going on. The employee accosted this young woman over one, literally one bag, and tried to withhold it. She made her pretty much beg for a bag and announce her financial situation to receive it.
