2 Minute Read: Back in the 1990s, Ina Merlo, a very good friend, would ask me to drive her here and there. Ina was born in 1892 and when I met her she'd just turned 92. She reached 104 yrs/o. Why do I mention Ina? When she wanted to grocery shop, she'd ask me to drive her to PAVILIONS in Hollywood. She told me, "Pavilions is a little more expensive but everything is the best!" So, PAVILIONS it was and PAVILIONS, it stays. Two days ago, I went to the aBurbank PAVILIONS, as I was a'hankerin' to make Turkey Giblet Gravy from scratch. As usual, it was a pleasant visit. Any questions you have, they Staff is always ready to help out. At the Deli, I was treated by a Lady with a nice smile. I ordered rare roast beef, and turkey. I requested they'd be sliced on the slicers number one thickness. I told the lady I'd be back in a few minutes. So I went to the meat department A young Attendant greeted me very happily. I asked her name, "YAJAIRA", she replied. YAJAIRA went out of her way to help me get what I was looking for, and did it wit such gusto, that I was impressed. Anyway, Ina was right! The service is terrible! I have been trying for 2 1/2 hours now to order groceries to be delivered to my house. 1. Your AI doesn't recognize my password 2. Or my email address although I have been picking up groceries since before the pandemic ! read more

They have high end cuts at the butcher counter, but their actual butchers are useless. How does a butcher not know what brisket is? And their go to when they haven't heard of a cut is "we don't have it". How do you know you don't have it if you don't even know what it is? One guy tells me they can order it, next guy says they can't order anything. Portraying yourself as a "premium" brand (for premium prices) while having crappy customer service is not a good look. read more

And this is why I get so frustrated with this Pavillions. Just left the grocery store and it's October 5 and I bought two cans of these. So now I'm inconvenienced to either take these back or just toss them because I don't have the time to deal with this. So frustrating. I've actually never been here previously, and actually had to figure out where it was because I couldn't remember where I'd seen it, but I have been in this parking lot previously for a couple of other locations. I just don't live anywhere near this grocery store so it's not my go to, but I was looking for something very specific for someone and it said it was here, but it turned out that it was not in stock. You can tell by the items they stock on the shelves that it's a higher salaried neighborhood in the store is laid out well, plenty of space in the aisles and it's immaculately maintained. read more

I am here because of Shannon and the wonderful lady who worked the morning shift with her today 06/09/25 in the floral department( so sorry I forgot her name). The whole store is staffed with helpful people who do not hide or run from you when you need help. However back to floral seriously the best place to go for flowers now days. What a great store! Not my regular pavilions but had an appointment in Burbank so popped in. The store is very clean with a beautiful flower section. Bakery section is fabulous as well. So much wonderful items and the staff was very very helpful in looking for an item we couldn't find. Check out gal was very friendly as well. So much great food and groceries to choose from. I could be in there for hours! Great selection of wines as well! Wish their prices were more competitive though. Ample parking! read more

Sushi section, vegan and organic foods, fresh baked pastries and delicious sandwich deli. Tons of fresh items, lots of parking out front. They have a huge kombucha selection, cheese and wine area. I had a very frustrating visit to Pavilions today. I was waiting to order some chicken to go and when the person in front of me was done, the lady behind the counter asked the person who arrived after me if she could help them. When I pointed out that I was there first she very rudely said, "well then, what do you want?" Someone like that shouldn't be dealing with customers. Additionally, I had ordered a coffee at Starbucks which I put in the cup holder in the cart. When you leave the store, you have to walk across these yellow bumps that make the cart shake violently to get to the parking lot. As I was walking across the yellow bumps, the top of the well secured coffee cup bounced off and half of the coffee bounced out of the cup and all over two of my shopping bags. Needless to say, I was frustrated that I lost half of my coffee and am coming home with two coffee soaked shopping bags. The coffee even got all over the contents of one of the bags so now I get to go home and clean my groceries before I put them away. I LOVE Pavilions $5 Fridays deals. Today I got lamb chops for $5 a pound and eight pieces of habanero mango chicken for $5, but my experience at this store was infuriating. I looked on the app for a way to give feedback but I couldn't find it so instead I will complain in this public forum. Note to Pavilions: you should have a sign outside warning people to remove cups from the cup holder before they exit the store. Oh yeah, and on my last two visits I found things that were beyond their expiration date (deviled eggs that had a sell by date of 2 days earlier) and moldy (pretzel bites which can found in the bakery). When you shop at this Pavilions be sure to check expiration dates and to look at the contents of anything you can. This is not the experience I expect to have at an expensive high-end grocery store. read more

Had to leave a review specifically for the Easter egg hunt event they held at their store today. I heard about it and thought, hmmm, an Easter egg hunt at a grocery store... I don't know why, but I'm intrigued. Took my kid there expecting to do a quick 180 back out the door, but was pleasantly surprised. I could tell the people who set this up put a lot of effort into it. Oh, the eggs. So. Many. Eggs. It wasn't really a "hunt," but the kids did not mind at all. There were some really friendly associates there assuring the kids there were plenty of eggs and to take as many as they wanted. Other friendly associates were even walking around handing out some legit goodie bags. All in all, it was a really nice event for kids, and kudos to all who had a hand in making it that way. Really enjoy shopping at this store even though their prices are higher than anyone else. Today I don't know customer service was a little lacking with the Clerk. The managers seem to be nice enough but not clear what was wrong with the checker. This person couldn't get it when I was using coupons on how to apply it I guess. Then when I paid putting my bags in the cart acted like I was running out of the store when in reality the payment told me thank you on the screen but hadn't posted on their side so they thought I was stealing everything. That's fine I understand. Might be different had I not had my payment method out the whole time and stood there answering everything waiting for it to go through myself . At one point when I asked a question was also a little snippy telling me one thing at a time. I guess you can't try to be friendly to anybody on some days. And so sorry that I had a coupon to use I'm almost certain the storefront said Pavilions and wasn't a personally owned store by the clerk. I'm sure Pavilions could afford that coupon and they'll get reimbursed by the place that gave it to me. Unfortunate that a person has such negative interaction with their customers or maybe just hate working today hopefully they'll have a better day tomorrow. I go to this pavilions every week at least three times a week and I work out at the gym that's right next to it, but tonight I was judged in a very wrong way. They asked me for ID for buying an alcoholic beverage. Not only I look 45 but yesterday I was here also I bought a pack of beer and nobody asked me for ID and the last six months. Nobody asked me for ID so none of their employees are doing their job. and all of a sudden one employee asked me for ID and the man got involved and made me look really bad in front of everybody. If you guys are gonna use a policy, you must use policy every single night for all employees. It is very unfair to be asked and not asked back-and-forth last six months. I have not been asked once for buying alcohol more than 15 times. read more

Usually understaffed, the thing I hate the most is their boiled fried chicken ... or at least that's how the chicken is when it gets to my house, only 10 minutes later. You're charging 12 dollars for 8 pieces of chicken, which is reasonable, but that plastic bag basically steams the chicken. It's always soggy. It's always mushy. Today, the chicken wasn't even completely cooked. You have to do better. Vons uses paper bags for their fried chicken and it's always crispy and crunchy. If Pavilions stores are supposed to be nicer and higher-end than Vons, then this store's management didn't get the memo. The nearest Ralphs is much better but not as convenient for me. The produce is consistently subpar (zoom in on the bananas photo to see the state of them - and that's AFTER they were just restocked), and some shelves are messy and have a lot of open slots that haven't been restocked in a long time (see pics of canned booze and pretzels/chips). Don't they sell more and offer more selection when the shelves are fully stocked? All in all, it's convenient and most employees seem nice. Been coming here for a while to get my lunches. Pre-made Salads and sandwiches were a great price for what they were. Recently the salads have been completely disgusting. Constantly getting chicken that is either pre-cooked then frozen and then thawed and placed in the salad or if it is cooked on-site then they are using sub-par chicken which is abhorrent. It makes the chicken texture feel uncooked or completely frozen. Portion size has diminished and they still charge the same price. This has been happening with every Vons and Pavillions location I've been to in the last year or so. Whatever this place used to be, it is no longer. I assume the same quality control issues that I've experienced at the Kroger locations near me is happening at all locations. I will be moving on from ever shopping at vons again. Just wasted another $12 on a terrible salad. So disappointing read more

This is specifically for their delivery service. The app and website both have loading issues. When I finally did get checked out, I was overcharged, and not given the verified discounts or delivery option. There really is NO customer service. Spent 45 min attempting to reach someone to help. Customer service phone number and chat take you to poorly trained representatives that are outsourced and gaslight you. (Chat also kept refreshing and over phone there is no manager.) To be clear: any customer service representative saying no one else will do anything more is poorly trained. Filled out online form. Rep transferred me to store - the auto system couldn't recognize and key selections. Called store directly, just left on hold. Leaving this review in Hope's that a representative will reach out and make this right. (Going into the store not an option due to illness.) In addition, they use Doordash. I tipped well but the driver didn't read or get the delivery instructions. The only thing that was good was the speed of service, but that was a special deal from what I could tell. read more

I just had a really uncomfortable experience. I visited this store as they have great fruit salads for gatherings. I proceeded to check out at self check out while I was there. I had to wait for an attendant whom was not rude, but also not very welcoming. As I was waiting for her assistance, a man walked by pretending to be on a phone call speaking very loudly, saying racial slurs. I asked him to please not be rude. He continued to say things to me. I brought it up to the attendants attention once she came to me. She just stared at me in my eyes and walked away said nothing. It was just an uncomfortable moment. It was really upsetting and made me feel unsafe. read more

This is a super market which has a wide variety of foods you can buy and ingredients to prepare it is a friendly environment that you really want to come back more often and in sise is a Starbucks you can have your favorite coffee while you shop. read more

I enjoy Pavilions quite a bit. Parking is convenient and plentiful (as with most grocery stores), and they have some cool items. They have those pink pineapples (which I actually don't really like - they're not that good), giant "gourmet" cinnamon rolls, a large amount of different tomatoes (which I love), cool varieties of produce (like apples), a small cheese section, etc. Overall, it's a cool shopping experience, and I'd recommend a go if you're in the area and looking for groceries. ;) read more

You know you are Adulting real hard when you walk into a grocery store and find yourself in awe. This happened to me Saturday. We stopped in Pavilions on the way to my brothers house to pick up a couple extra snacks to bring to our tailgate. I was blown away at the selection here. This used to be our home grocery store growing up, but this is not the same Pavilions it once was many moons ago. This place was super nice! I couldn't believe it. If you're looking for a very extensive selection of wine, beer, cheese or other goodies I'd definitely recommend this store. I had some business in Burbank so before my trip home , I swung by Pavillons for a few specific items. I was quite surprised by the size of the store ( large) and what looked like a well stocked supermarket. Unfortunately, it was a pretty superficial impression as going after my items, I was disappointed that the shelves were empty missing some of the basic food items. The difference between Vons and Pavillons is that supposedly the latter is higher end , a little bit like Whole food and Bristol Farms. But here, no Kraft cream cheese except the one that no one wants ( with honey), no De Cecco spaghetti or penne, Not much choice in the famous Rustichella d'Abruzzo. Joshua could not believe it and I had to take him to show him the empty shelves : He didn't have an explication and a passing customer mentioned the ships waiting to be unloaded in Long Beach. This explication does mot pass with me because Ralph's is very well stocked. I wasted a lot of gas and time coming here to find myself heading to Ralph's. What a shame! read more

we came to pavilions to buy takis and they didn't even have it so we just grabbed 2 Pringles. when we went to check out we didn't realize we didn't have enough (plus it ate one of our dollars) (we used self checkout) money and they said they couldn't void the purchase. So we had to stand there for 30 minutes while they figured out they had to call their supervisor and it took another 10 minutes for him to walk across the store, i thought it would be some pathetic grandpa but no it was a fit black male by the name of josh. so they ended up giving us back the WRONG amount of money since the machine ate one of our dollars . the people who helped us are named bob and george. Man this Pavillions is no joke. (Uppity Uppity with your pinky finger pointed up). I love this Pavillions (I know it's really Ralph's undercover cause I used my phone number to get a discount lol). So use your Ralph's reward card/phone number. So here's the deal they have your regular grocery store and in the middle they have a huge food type of court with no chairs it has a deli (with all kinds of sandwiches); sushi (that someone prepares on the spot); hot food (fried and roasted chicken and fried food); all types of gourmet cheese; two salad bars and a huge very good looking wine area (that's under lock and key). I mean if you stop by the gym next door on a weekday you can come by and get you some healthy food such as Poki bowls or some hot food from the salad bar. One of the salad bar areas is mostly salad and the other one has hot food such as roasted chicken, veggies, lasagna and hot soups. If you love meat they serve the Boar's head brand. They also have a Kombucha fountain where someone was handing out free samples (pretty good I must say). Hmmm I might just trade this Pavillions for the Whole foods up the street. If you stop by on the weekend it's party time!! You can pair your cheese with some wine and get you some delicious food. Oh yeah there's a Starbucks and Pharmacy inside (it's like it's own city lol). I got a Poki bowl the other day and I loved it! It was huge and tasted super fresh, healthy and delicious (given that its not made at a sushi restaurant). My absolute favorite grocery store, it's the only grocery store I actually enjoy shopping at and leave less stressed than when I arrive. It's incredible clean, has spacious aisles, and has excellent produce, cheese, and bakery. Every single person working there is welcoming and kind and they bag your groceries with kind greetings and polite conversation. Even the security guard noticed I looked lost and pointed me towards the toothpaste. No one there ever makes you feel like you are inconveniencing them (from the deli counter to the bakery to the pharmacy) regardless of how busy they are. I go out of my way to drive to this location weekly because it's the best. read more
