I called Pavilions Burbank to find out if their fruit platters and vegetable platters were made everyday, (both priced decent and 5-stars produce choices). The answer was "yes" from 3am in from our Produce Department. Immediately, I was upset to find out they started work three hours before opening. I was happy that I didn't have to go in today for tomorrow. And I wished they were on DoorDash for a second. My next question, "What are your July 4th hours?" When I much, much younger, the grocery store was closed. When I was about ten, our local grocery store was open 11am to 4pm... And it was like a tragedy. Back to this Pavilions Review, this guy's answer seem to be with a smile. I sensed this through the phone conversation. He was proud to say, "We'll be open 6am to 10pm like normal". That heartbreak feeling overtook me. If I don't pickup a vegetable platter, maybe, the supermarket would close earlier for their employees to enjoy some of the holiday. Wishful thinking. Best cheese and wine selection at any grocery store in the valley. The covid has kept the wine bar closed and the talented G Sommelier in retirement at the moment. I dream of a time when we could shop mask free and frolic in the isles care free and fancy like. Wonderful organic produce glistens in the mist. This could be the best Pavilion location in my opinion. Produce is fresh and market is clean. Great sales on food ETC. Big space too.

The people are nice and efficient. The store is clean. But for even the most basic goods you're paying more...and on a regular shopping trip, ask yourself if it's worth the extra $15 bucks (give or take). Or, take a look at the Safeway Select pizza I made, which turned into a black hole. I've never had a pizza cook this way before: just sinking right through the rack! Oof! Great place! Very fanceh and one of the most upscale pavillions I've ever been to. Their new buffet and sushi section is great. They make noddle bowls to order. The food by pound section has a lot to choose from but I can get very pricy. My addiction is their cheese area!!! Omg so much to choose from and to my convenience it's next to the huge wine cellar ! Very nice pavillions and a lot of options. When I come to do my weekly groceries just on essentials it's an easy $150 so it is pricy and things cost $2-$3 more than the ralphs just a few minutes down. My only reason for not giving them a solid 5 it's their seafood and meat. They are good if you eat them and cook same day or next but not to leave for end of the week. They spoil very fast. Last time I paid $27 on salmon and it had a very bad foul smell. Brought back and they exchanged it. Yet it yourself... hey they have a Starbucks inside and a gym right next door. read more

Worst experience ever in customer service Used the pick up option had to go into the store to grab said order and no one knew where it was or where the worker was. That being said after waiting forever since the customer obviously doesn't come first here I went home to find most my items missing to make dinner for my family this evening, When I called the store the most incompetent teenager (overly chatty) talking over you) answers the phone and wants to repeat herself on the items I did not receive and argued with me about receiving said items. The ordeal was already a hassle but to have to deal with a child that obviously just got off a Mary Jane break is ridiculous and she wanted to proceed to try to correct me and be extremely rude which made me laugh more because she was proving my point. Lastly I asked for the manager while the kid who answered the phone proceeded to continue speaking for no other reason than to hear her own voice finally got said manager which shouldn't have been a hassle. after the minutes of ridiculousness spewing from her mouth passed the manager HE answered the phone to prove he was even more incompetent than the teenager he employed who answered the phone to handle a customer service call. Honestly this store has the most ridiculous employees. They are rude, they don't do their job well and the store is poorly ran. I'd rather go across town than ever shop here again and will be reporting this to corporate because I've never been met with such immaturity and disrespect in my life at a grocery store of all places which is also incredibly laughable because it's just that they are just workers at a grocery store acting as produce nazis like calm down hall monitor no one's trying to rip you off especially when the customer is the one who didn't receive the items. In a course of over a 12 month period we had to return shrimp twice and this is the second time I had a bad salmon fillet. Yesterday I went to the pharmacy of this store/market, to receive a Covid boostershot. It was an excellent experience. The service was polite and very attentive. The place was impecably clean. I was provided with a very comfortable chair, privacy, and the opportunity to ask questions. It id not my favorite thing to be vaccinated, but the experience was as pleasant as it ever could be. I know, for in the last few years, I have received more vaccinations than ever before. For each vaccination I have scheduled, I have gone to a different pharmacy. All of them have been located somewhere in the San Fernando Valley. The differences between these various pharmacies, in terms of customer service, cleanliness, and professional behavior by the person who administered the shot, has been a real eye opener. I generally like this store, have shopped here for years. The new renovations are nice, I've gotten used to them, though I preferred the last layout of the store. I'm specifically addressing in this review the filthy vent in the ladies restroom. I have complained about this vent for years, asking that it be cleaned. This vent was not cleaned even though the restroom underwent an overhaul during the latest renovation. I have spoken to the store manager several times. This Pavilions has recently undergone a pretty detailed renovation so it rivals a Whole Foods (one opened up nearby too) and they brought back the self checkout lanes! They now have a huge wine area that seems to be hopping with regular tastings and cheese pairings. They've also stepped up their health conscious offerings, adding sections devoted to organic produce, probiotics, and cold drinks. While their prices can skew higher if you don't use their savings app (and Club Card) which regularly gives you $5 off $25 and special offers, you can still find deals if you focus on their numerous promoted items. Their staff is usually friendly and attentive, there is one worker who seems to just socialize rather than work so I avoid her lane. Parking is easy and they have a somewhat hidden clearance section in a corner by the US Bank and near the toiletries. read more

For some reason, this store prefers their shelves to always look full, even though that is a disservice to their guests. Often, when a specific variety of item, like a cheese or milk is out of stock, employees will put other items in the same location to give the appearance of a well-stocked shelf. But this just makes it harder to shop for what you are looking for. Worse, I've often seen outdated product on shelves and I think this drive to make shelves look full is a contributing factor. My Burbank buddy & fellow Yelper John H. had always taken me to this Pavilions for shopping trips for the last 10 years, and so this stop has always been one on my path. As it happens, it's also the first time I've been back here since I started yelping. THE SETUP Of late, I've become quite frustrated in my lack of success in finding Pepsi One. It would appear that places like Safeway and Raley's no longer sell the 2-Liter Bottles of Pepsi One. And now not even my Safeway options in Sacramento sell the cubes of Pepsi One. [I can only find them in my searches at distant Raley's for the moment.] SURPRISE But imagine my surprise upon hitting Pavilions in Burbank (which I should point out is in fact networked to Safeway on some mysterious corporate relationship, and by that I mean my Safeway No. gets me the same discounts at this Pavilions), and I find my cubes of Pepsi One! The employees in the service deli no longer change gloves in between tasks. I asked the dept manager to change gloves before slicing my deli meat because I had just seen him emerge from the storage locker and put his hands on a dolly to move it. He didn't change gloves because as he explained "I just put these on". So is the protocol now to only change gloves every 15 minutes or something? I find it very unhygienic. read more

I just want to give a thanks out to Natalyn, Antonio, Jeffrey, who went OUT OF THEIR way to help me recover my expensive Galaxy S20+ smartphone after I dropped it in the middle of the cart section outside. This happened on Monday, April 6. I attached a picture of where the phone dropped. Needless to say, they took time carefully removing carts and were worried the phone would be damaged even more. I felt so bad (and yes, I assisted them), but they assured me it was no big deal. We ended up getting the phone safely out with no damage. I REALLY appreciated this. Although I like this store and it's perfectly fine, this review is mainly for BOB (the customer service guy) and JR the manager. First off, BOB is ALWAYS helpful and has a smile on his face. I see him working hard all the time even though there is usually a line at the customer service desk. He never gets flustered even when I can overhear grumpy old ladies yelling at him over something trivial. *shaking my head* ... thank you bob for your hard work, when he's not there I'm almost disappointed. Sadly the pharmacy continues to have rude staff. This was my third and last visit to the pharmacy. The first two visits were in 2021 for the Covid vaccines. It was always the same two ladies each time and I gave them a lot of grace since everyone had a lot of stress during the pandemic. Today they were just as rude. I came for my booster today and left without it. I will head to friendly Costco for my booster. What a shame that these employees are so unfriendly. This is my favorite grocery store in La other than Bristol farms. But there's no Bristol farms near me. Pavilions has almost everything I want. Even bean sprouts. Which a lot of grocery stores don't have. They even have feee flavored water when you're shopping and also complimentary wine tastings some days. The people are nice, and the sales are great too. We've spent so much money here.. and made it our primary grocery store. They have great cheeses, an amazing liquor and wine selection, although sometimes I wish they had more of a grocery selection. Their grocery selection is on the smaller end. That would be my only complaint. Open late and they have a good prepare food selection as well. Better than Whole Foods. read more

We don't even live in Burbank, but with the current situation this has become our regular grocery store. It's always clean and mostly stocked. Everyone is really nice, and they have a great selection of Alcohol and Cheese! There's also a Starbucks inside, but best part is the Cup holders on the shopping carts! There are no more hot food and salad bar counters that my family often enjoyed for lunches and breakfasts. Thanksgiving turkey was so well-prepared and delicious in the hot bar, I still remember and miss it there. I know I have complained in the past with probably small issues, but I wanted to update my review today. I have been in the store quite a few times since, and it was nice to see familiar faces again. My shopping experience was very good. Today I used the pick up service, ordered online, made my selections (don't forget to pick alternative items in case they are out), my order was ready an hour early, parked in the appropriate spot, checked in and the most wonderful employee Susanne (?) delivered my groceries. We had a great chat and she was so helpful and nice! Another 5 stars for value, when you order for pick up online, you do get the sale prices, unlike using Instacart which has gotten too expensive with fees and marked up grocery items. I look forward to using Pavilions online ordering in the future when I can't shop in the store as I take of someone who is disabled and sometimes cannot make the trip. I'm writing this review for the bakery in Pavilions. I had my daughter's Bday party a few weeks ago and was really happy with how accommodating the ladies in the bakery have been. They made these super cute Storm Trooper cupcakes that I was able to make into a Darth Vader cake stand. First off all of the prices are way higher than any other grocery store. You are better off going to Ralph's in Studio City... much cheaper. My main complaint is the meat section. This location's meat is priced higher than anywhere around so you think you are getting high quality. You are not. I bought a pound of ground beef on Sunday, by Wednesday it is gray and smells. I buy a pound of ground beef on Sunday from Ralph's, fresh for at least a week, as it should be. I bought a ribeye from Pavillions on a Saturday, it smelled spoiled by Tuesday. A friend of mine and a former employee of Pavillions told me once to always check the dates on food at this location. And even then they may not be right. My only other beef (no pun intended) is the gentleman who oversees the alcohol section. Way too cool for the common shopper and a bit too creepy to have your daughter around. Also very smooth asking "who paid for the flowers" to look over her receipt considering she'd already shown it to you for the monopoly tickets.
