Alright, buckle up, because this tiny Glendale bodega is a hidden gem with a little parking plot twist. I was almost scared off by the parking. it's like a cozy Middle Eastern-Armenian hug in supermarket form. Now, I will admit, I was a bit on the fence because the parking spots are tighter than a pair of skinny jeans at a hipster convention. But once you brave that parking jungle, inside is a whole other world. I stepped in, and boom! this delightful Armenian lady greeted me like an old friend. She was a cash register magician and a cold cut sorceress all in one. I asked for some deli goodness, and she whipped me up a masterpiece. plus, every snack in this place is fresher than a morning breeze. It's like a mini bazaar, the aisles are small, but packed tighter than a New York City subway. everything is just a grab-and-go dream. They've got a killer selection of cold cuts, flatbreads, and pickles. basically a snack lover's wonderland. And don't get me started on the ice cream it's like paradise in a little tub. I'm docking one star, though because the parking situation is a bit like a game of Tetris, but I'd still give them a solid four. This market has been very convenient. It's very close by in the neighborhood. Great market for fresh produce, meats, snacks, and things of that nature. The parking is also 50/50 some times there is no space at all while other times there are. However I'm unhappy about the customer service. You are never at ease here, the workers always have some attitude or snarky looks to give which explains the four stars. Furthermore it is the only produce store nearby so we'll just have to rough it out. read more

Guy sold me a tub of icecream, when I got to my house, I noticed that the lid on the ice cream was broken open. So like anybody would, I went back to the store and tried to get a refund (or even just a different tub.) To my surprise, the guy working there says "it's fine it probably just got dropped" so now I'm out $8 and had to throw the icecream away. It was not fine. It was freezer burned and covered with ice inside because it had been exposed to outside air for its entire shelf life. Disgusting train of thought. If that's the way he treats this one item, I don't even want to know what goes on with the vegetables. Terrible product and terrible customer service. I'm gonna have to say this would be one of the best Armenian groceries in Glendale. Their produce is always fresh but the store is so small they have to keep most of them in the back fridge so make sure to ask them what you looking for and they will bring it for you. This little market is probably most busy one and trust me when I say most because there are hundreds of markets like this in Glendale. I'm really not someone to trash another place...however I couldn't believe what happened during my time here. I did read the terrible reviews but since all I needed was to pick up Persian limes I didn't think there would be much harm. (Note - while I am not Persian, nor look it, my husband is Persian. I wish we had come into this store together). No one really helped me, nor offered so I finally found my limes in a pretty small and tiny, packed store. I decided to wander around and see what other fresh goodies they had. There was a cold aisle with fresh garlic spread/hummus on sale. The label clearly read "$1.99". I thought is was a good buy so I added it to my cart. I approached the counter, and again not really sure why everyone was so rude and hostile. I didn't take it personally however when she went to ring up my garlic spread, she spoke to someone next to her in Farsi, ripped off the $1.99 tag, and then proceeded to charge me EXTRA for the garlic spread. I was SO SHOCKED that she actually did this in my face and had no compassion. All I remember was slowly sliding her my credit card....I wish I had spoken up but didn't because I was so clearly out numbered I knew it was not going anywhere. That is why I am writing this review. I truly cannot stand when you are supporting other ethnic cultures/grocery stores and they feel they are entitled to treat you like shit just because you do not look like them. Its offensive, and very sad. While I'm not here to tell you not to support any given establishment, I am hoping the owners of these places hear me, and know that is not okay. Great Armenian/Persian Market... They have various armenian/persion premade & frozen foods that you can get and cook for dinner. AMAZING REAL TASTES of Middle Eastern Culture. They are quite small inside, but very popular and well known with the Middle Eastern Culture. They have fresh fruits, dry fruits, frozen foods, (all kind of TEA's) and much more. The parking is not all that great since their location is quite on the corner of a shopping plaza... surrounded by other stores around. They do get really busy, but the QUICK TIP I mentioned was amazing! I love it and will deff. recommend everyone to buy! Better than going to a restaurant. B+ 4 Stars read more

I'm always looking for an excuse to walk over here. It's a robust little grocer that has most of what you need day to day-- lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and it feels cleaner than many of the stores nearby. They also have a ton of refrigerated goods and a thorough deli case (plus a large spice section and great prices on cured salmon). Often there are beautiful seasonal fruits up at the counter. So far I've seen enormous raisins and fresh figs, Armenian apricots, and fresh almonds (still green with jelly-like insides). The staff has been excited to let me know what some of those are when I ask. The deli-case is a little difficult to order from just because it's piled so high with products and it's hard to find someone on the other side, but it's a sign of how much they have packed into this little store. read more

Great go to spot if you are looking for quick in and out transaction as opposed to doing your regular weekly shopping. Now this place is tiny and at certain times gets very crowded so don't get intimidated. Produce: Their produce seems to be mostly fresh as they have such a high turnover and they seem to get deliveries on a daily basis. Breads/Baked Goods: As far as bread, if you manage to get there by 5 o'clock, then your good, otherwise they always run out of daily fresh bread, however, I would stay away from the baked goods, as I have experienced, more than once, that they stay on the shelves for days, so its kind of a lottery. Cold Cuts/Cheeses: I would recommend getting the stuff that are sold the most, for freshness reasons, including the Mikaelian mortadella, Russian ham, and smoked turkey as well as the Valbreso cheese. The other stuff are kinda questionable as Armenians only tend to eat the above exclusively. Staff: The staff can be a hit or miss especially for people who don't speak Armenian, but any "weird" vibes coming from them are likely due to a language barrier rather than rudeness. If you are looking for deli items, make sure to let the cashiers know as there are no numbers or anything and before you know it, about 5-6 Armenian seniors or housewives would cut right int front of you. Prices: Kind of on the higher side due to "convenience". There is no doubt that you can save at least 15-20% by going to the big Armenian markets (Super King or Golden Farms), but unless you are going to do $100 worth of shopping, this place is a good alternative for picking up a couple of things in lieu of saving time. read more

This little hole in the wall marketplace is great. The owner I assume-who is a short middle aged man- is always there, making sure everything is in order, and customers are served. He has a great positive attitude at all times and makes sure everything is fresh and good quality. I have to admit, the store is really small, it might feel cramped due to its size, parking is limited, and check out lines might get confusing due to it's size. But I can assure you that you can practically find everything middle eastern that you might need at this store, and everything is fresh and clean. Store has fresh fruit and veggie varieties, deli section, milk/yoghurt etc, canned foods, nuts and dried fruits, and some cleaning supplies as well as fresh bread and limited pastry selection but no meat/butcher section. I used to visit this store and shop from there several times a week, when I used to live closer to the area. It's unfortunately out of my way now. However, I visited the store today to pick up couple things. They still have the same friendly service. They put new shelves up in the store and renovated it a bit it seems. It looks more organized now. They also have a deli area as well with good variety different kinds of meats and cheese. It's a great neighborhood market for last minute needs and surprising seasonal international delicacies. read more

The customer service is bad, the women working there are usually very rude and that kind of stuff doesn't really need training. The food isn't always fresh, it just depends on what time during the day you decide to go. This is probably the worst grocery store in all of Glendale. I parked on the right side of the building in an empty spot. As I was getting out, I was approached by a random man in the parking who aggressively told me to move my car. I told him that this is customer parking and that it doesn't say anywhere that it is reserved for someone in specific. I asked him to move away but he was blocking my path. I asked him who he was and he claimed that his job was to stand in the parking and monitor the lot - which is absurd. I got in my car and drove off from anger. I highly doubt I'll ever revisit this terrible store, but if I do, I'm gonna park in the same spot until a sign tells me otherwise. read more

If I can give this place zero stars I definitely would. My family and I have been shopping here for the past 13 years and for these past few months we've walked out more disappointed each and every time. It upsets me for being such a loyal customer to be treated like crap in the end. I had bought a yogurt dip and when I opened it I saw some disgusting web like moss forming inside (the date on it hadn't expired) I took it right back and asked for my money the old grumpy man told me he would give me credit and I definitely am not planning on shopping here anymore. I asked him politely and they kept pushing me with credit once I got a little aggressive with my words they gave my money back. I forgot to add that this was the fourth time something like that has happened with their products. I hesitated leaving a review due to customer loyalty but this definitely was the final straw.
