Sunglass Hut - Sunglasses Near Me - Brea, California

Very poor customer service practices and very shady business practices. Purchased my glasses from Sunglass Hut in South Coast and went to this store after my new Meta Ray Bans stopped working after 2 weeks, because Brea is closer. First, the representative said you need to do it through Meta and file a warranty. I informed them that the Meta website stated I have to go to the original retailer I purchased from (which was sunglass hut). When I told them that, they then changed the story and said I need to replace them or file a warranty at the Sunglass Hut I purchased from because all the Sunglass huts are different (which sounded really weird). Went to South Coast to return and they said no problem they can exchange, but they didn't have stock at the moment. Brea or Orange has stock though. They helped me call the Orange store, and I helped me reserve a pair. They said any Sunglass hut can do an exchange, but they have gotten many customer complaints about the Brea store. When I went to the Orange store, they also said the same thing about this particular Brea store and that they often have to process returns from Brea customers. It appears as if because of the commission system, stores make more or less depending on sales or returns. Overall the worst experience at this Brea branch which caused me to drive all over Orange County just to get this done when they could've handled it themselves, instead of blatantly lying about their "return policy." There's no such thing. If they say they can't return or exchange for you they are not telling the truth. Management needs to improve and update themselves on their own policies instead of trying to push Sunglass hut customers away. Awful customer experience here. read more

The employee on the second level store with glasses, dark and curly hair, who worked around 1:30-2:30pm on January 19th was very hostile with my situation. He did little to hear about my receipt issue. He did not present solutions and was incredibly dismissive. I ended up getting help from another store, and when I went back to the store to educate him about solutions that he could propose to future customers, he was very disrespectful, confrontational, and hostile. I suppose he let his pride get in the way of providing adequate customer service. Insanely offensive service from Sebrina emp #774260 today. I came in with new, unworn, Ray Bans (a valentines gift from my GF) that were very crooked from the manufacturer. I had my original receipt and original box and only wanted to exchange them for the exact same pair. Sebrina accused me of wearing them. Accused me of lying about wearing them. Told me it was obvious I had. And said because they were 'wider' they were unsellable. Sadly this is exactly how they were sold to my GF so that means they pushed unsellable glasses to her to give as a gift to me. They never sat on my head more than 20 seconds and to be repeatedly accused of being a liar instead of being helped with a baseline level of dignity is why I will now use Sunglass Hut as an example of failure in business and service in any conversation I have with business peers. Literally only bought glasses because Nancy was such a gem! Due to Covid, you can try on glasses but then you put them in a tray after to be cleaned. I'm not sure how I feel about this store, I visited twice and I had online returns because it just didnt work out. The first time I had no problem, the second time, it took forever to complete the transaction!! I had my receipt, unworn, unused, completely brand new, just did not like the style. Despite that I had a receipt, credit card I paid with, they were still not able to return. It took them over 30 minutes to complete the transaction! nobody has the time to waste so they need to have the knowledge because I am sure not every customer buy items in store, there are online also. Andrea and Anthony were outstanding today. I walked in with a bland mood at best, and walked out very happy. Andrea helped me pick out sunglasses which were a birthday gift almost went gift card until she reminded me that the gift itself shows much more thought, so I took her advice. She looked at the picture of my sons mother and suggested a pair of glasses which looked much better than the ones I thought would have been a good gift. She had a great sense for the style sense and glasses shapes that would work best and was very informative and very helpful. Anthony also stepped in to help as the store became busy. He made me aware of the specials and promotions which made me consider glasses for myself. He too was very knowledgeable and aware of matching glasses with preferences, and after asking several questions I decided to pickup a pair for myself. Last night the manager of this store, Terry humiliated me. I bought a pair of sunglasses at Disneyland Ca Adventure and decided they weren't for me. I never wore them i kept them in their box even in the Disneyland bag, i first went upstairs to return them where the store manager initially seemed like she was going to help me. When i started looking through my wallet for my misplaced atm she picked up this pair of NEVER WORN sunglasses and started claiming they were completely scratched and she couldn't take them back, the "disneyland employee sold me bad sunglasses" mind you he took them out of brand new packaging in front of me! and she just kept doing air quotes saying "so he claims" she told me i'd have to buy a ticket back to disneyland to return them. I was baffled, there was nothing wrong with them. So i went downstairs to see if this sunglass hut could assist me. From the door this extremely unprofessional store manager started yelling, "the sunglasses from upstairs bought at disneyland?! nope nope their all scratched up we're not taking those!" I wasn't even at the counter yet, i asked her to look at them and show me a scratch and she walked away! The young sales associate next to her looked at them and rubbed them with a towel over and over holding them to the light struggling to find an issue. I was being treated like i was some sort of fraud for no reason! Why exactly did the manager from upstairs need to call down here? If she trusted the glasses were so damaged wouldn't that be evident to any employee i tried to return them to? I am disgusted by how i was treated and in complete shock. This manager even recommend i take them to downtown disney to the sunglass hut by a starbucks, you know where i could pay $35 just to park. On top of that, i thought they had to go back to the same store? isn't that what you just said? so ultimately she let me know someone else might help me but not her. Are you for real? I've been eyeing a pair of Michael Kors sunglasses that were priced at $99. I saw them online but it said it was only available in stores. Apparently there are three Sunglass Huts in this mall. I don't know why they just don't jumble up all into one but yes there are THREE. I first stopped by the Sunglass Hut on the second floor. I asked if they had Michael Kors sunglasses and they said they didn't have it on their store. He told me to go downstairs to the other Sunglass Hut. I was welcomed but dude didn't even know what I was talking about. He told me that Sunglass Hut doesn't carry Michael Kors and to go look at the store next door. Mind you, the name of the store next door is Michael Kors. That store is FILLED with handbags but what the heck I'm not looking for handbags! In disbelief, I had to show him the link that showed the pair of sunglasses from their official website which stated I can only find them in stores. To make matters worse, he didn't know where I could find them. He randomly told me to check out Nordstroms. Why would I go to Nordstroms? I came to Sunglass Hut for a reason. I left that store and decided to check out the Sunglass Hut in Macy's in that same mall. That would be Sunglass Hut #3. They actually had it! And it was priced at $99. So my bf bought me the pair and we were done. We probably should have stopped by Macy's first but really now? I couldn't believe the two actual standalone stores didn't even carry that and the one that was embedded into the department store actually had it available. When you hit any mall, forget everything else. The first thought has to be the food court. Got it? I asked her for a $25 discount for a mailing that I got but didn't bring with me and she gave me some BS answer as to why she couldn't give me a lower rate. Still, I wanted these pair of Persols and wasn't going to drive to Downtown LA near the Toy District to buy them for cheaper. Cha-ching = SOLD. Seriously, for me, it's really hard to find a pair of good sunglasses. Koreans have fat heads. C'mon my people. Most of us have some huge noggins and things like hats or glasses doesn't always fit. We need to super size. My overall thought, expensive but they have a good selection. They even have a smaller store downstairs if you happen the miss the one on top. Terrible place to go to. Bought my Oakley sunglasses, used it once, didnt like it because the lenses are grey, not Black Iridium that I wanted. Came back to return 3 days after sunglasses were purchased (Sunglass Hut offers 90 days return hassle free). The 18 year old male associate helped me do the return. However, he needed to check if there are any scratches to the sunglasses. He checked it for a good 10 minutes rubbing the lenses and checking a couple times. -_- He then asked me if I like to exchange it, or just return it. They didnt have any Black Iridiums, so I wanted to return. Some buyers came up to the register, and he asked me to step aside so that they can help those people first. I thought I was in line and been waiting first....but being the nice guy I am, I stepped aside. Anywho, within th 6 minutes of them making the transaction, the young male associate is in the back continuously rubbing the lenses and checking for scratches. When the other customers finished making their purchase, the young male associate finally came back to say that I cannot return the glasses due to a small scratch on the lenses. -_- The guy been rubbing the lenses for at least 15 minutes constantly, I wouldnt be surprised if it have any scratches. NOOB! Anyway, I complained and he called over his manager and of course, she stated that its my fault. I explained that he have been rubbing the glasses and also I only had it for 3 days. I also told her I wanted Black Iridiums. She told me that Black Iridiums only come in Polarized lenses (Stating shes been with the company for 6 years and knows what shes talking about), which is a straight out LIE, or she does not know what shes talking about. A simple Oakley.com search will show you that Black Iridiums and Polarized Black Iridiums are different. I didnt want to argue so I just ignored. Anyway, they finally gave me the refund, but also gave me an unwelcoming vibe. Never coming back to Sunglass Hut, especially the Brea Mall one. read more

Young staff but they were super friendly and helpful in my quest to find the perfect shades. Lots of inventory and not too crowded. They usually have a model of just about everything, and if they don't have the color you're looking for they can easily order it and send it to your doorstep. I think the biggest downside of this establishment and most others in the mall is young staff who don't have a lot of experience and knowledge about store policies, but if you understand that and work around it you'll be just fine. read more

I had an awesome customer service experience with Alan who went over the top in assisting me with exchanging a pair or Ray Bans I wasn't completely satisfied with. My thoughts were to at first return them and buy something else another day. However he took the time to ask me what was wrong or why I was returning them and addressed my issues. He then showed me several options that I could select and was very patient with me trying them all. In the end I ended up getting another pair that I really like. Thanks to Alan who went above and beyond, not just to give me a great experience but to also retain a sale rather then to accept a return. This review is for the Sunglass Hut location on the second level of Brea Mall. I have never been so insulted or surprised, as I was today by this stores manager JAMIE. Today, May 9th 2018 around 1730, my boyfriend and I were browsing this Sunglass Hut as he has been looking for some Persol's to buy. After not finding anything we left the store and slowly walked past neighboring stores. We got as far as Oakley's, when I heard a woman walking fast behind us asking if we "liked the Persol's and Gucci glasses we were trying on?" I responded, yes...? She then said "well good, you can give them back!" Looking at both my boyfriend and I, she again said, "YOU STOLE THEM. Give them back now." My bf and I are in shock at this point at how aggressively she was acting. This woman turned out to be JAMIE (the upper stores manager who refused to give us her last name). We both denied stealing anything and my boyfriend held open the one shopping bag he had while I held open my purse (first of all we shouldn't even have to do that.) and after seeing that we clearly did not steal anything she turned around and attempted just to walk back to the store without an apology or anything. Not that easy lady, we followed her back to the store and demanded her regional managers number, my bf used to work at a Sunglass Hut in high school and is still familiar with the regional manager who is receiving an email about this event as I type this review. Also, we NEVER got an apology. A few tips for JAMIE: 1. Do not chase people who may have stolen outside your store. Not only could you be wrong (just like today), but speaking as a concerned nurse, you could be seriously injured by someone. 2. DO NOT ACCUSE anyone of stealing unless you saw it with your own eyes. You could have simply approached us (if you really wanted to follow people) and state you're missing a pair of sunglasses and ask to check our bags (like a professional would?); had you done that we both would have understood. 3. Check your attitude, soccer mom. As a manager you are an extension and the face of your company, and today you let your company and store down and I seriously hope that you are reprimanded for your behavior today. So please my brother and sister shoppers, for us, DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION! Came here to pick up glasses I had ordered online. My first interaction was awful at the location downstairs as the older blonde woman looked for any excuse not to help me- before I could even ask a question about how my sunglasses fit she said they couldn't do any exchanges or adjustments in store - even though the shipping receipt clearly says to go to a sunglass hut for any questions or concerns! I was so glad to come across Roben downstairs and Matt upstairs who were great and provided the kind of service you would expect from sunglass hut. This review is for the store downstairs customer service. Today around 11:30am after my yoga class (I was wearing yoga pants and a long sweater) went to buy a pair of glasses. The male at the store welcomed me, but when I was looking for the glasses that I wanted, he did not stop looking at me and being right next to me, like if I was going to steel. I asked him if it was ok I could try them on, he said not a problem, but he is still right next to me and making me feel very uncomfortable. Wherever I walked, he walked with me.
