Hundreds of times. Hundreds of times I have passed Sunglass Huts and walked on by. Often located in…read moremall kiosks with neighbors such as phone covers and toy helicopters, I'd barely given them a passing glance. None at all in fact. Everyone knows to look straight ahead and avoid eye contact when passing kiosks! That's Mall Shopping 101. After complaining to my friend Leo about my ongoing sunglass plight, he suggested Sunglass Hut. "Sunglass Hut??? That 80's store?? With those Oakley Eyeshades??" I immediately felt doubtful, but since I'm frequently in downtown Naper and I could avoid Rt 59, I figured I had nothing to lose. Whoa. This place is legit. Gucci, Versace, Dior, Tom Ford, Valentino, Prada, Armani etc... So many sunglasses. So many styles. And yes, even a few styles that looked good on me. Choices. With a $150-$400 range, this isn't shopping for eyewear at Target, but you'll look magazine ready in these. And those $15 plastic frames aren't doing anything for your face, honey. Plus, they have a great policy that they'll replace your broken sunglasses at 50% off for 12 months after purchase. So go ahead. Do it. You can eat instant ramen for the next month if need be.

She was so sweet and kind and provided such wonderful help to me for picking out two new pairs of glasses for my vacation coming up. Would definitely say this sunglasses hut will always be my favorite and have a special place in my heart. WOULD RECOMMEND!!

I had a very disappointing experience with this office, specifically regarding how my phone call…read morewas handled. I scheduled appointments for my daughter and myself for September 17. When I made the appointment, I provided my insurance information and specifically mentioned that my daughter had Medicaid. I asked whether they accepted Blue Cross Blue Shield, and I was told yes. I was also told that if there were any issues with the insurance, someone from the office would contact me. I do remember providing the X number too but this was last week so I can't say I'm positive about this. I received a link to complete the paperwork . When I tried to complete a separate form for my daughter, the link kept taking me back to my information, so I called the office to ask for a second link. Richard answered and told me that the paperwork I had already completed should be fine for both of us. During that call, I again mentioned that my daughter had Medicaid through Blue Cross Blue Shield Community, and he then told me that they do not accept that insurance. Since I was in another waiting room for an appointment at the time, I decided to cancel my daughter's appointment. Afterward, I decided to call back because I wanted to be 100% sure before finding another office for my daughter. It was convenient for both of us to be seen on the same day, and I was confused because I had specifically asked about the insurance when making the appointment and was told they accepted Blue Cross Blue Shield. Unfortunately, when Richard answered the phone again, the way he spoke to me was extremely rude and dismissive. I was simply trying to explain that I was calling to make sure there hadn't been a misunderstanding before completely canceling the appointment. Instead, he responded in a very condescending tone, saying, "Honey, I've been here for 15 years and we have never taken that insurance." I explained that I was only calling to confirm because this information had not been mentioned when the appointment was originally scheduled. He continued to be defensive and repeatedly told me that he had already confirmed it. When I asked why he was giving me attitude when I was simply trying to clarify the situation, he told me that I was the one giving him attitude. I want to be fair and acknowledge that I may have over-explained myself because I was trying to make sure there wasn't a misunderstanding. I also work in healthcare, so I understand that not every phone call is easy and that people have stressful days. However, there is still a way to communicate respectfully with patients and their families. Being told "honey" in that tone and being spoken to so dismissively was completely unnecessary. Having 15 years of experience should come with knowing how to communicate with people respectfully, especially when someone is simply trying to clarify an insurance issue. I ended up having to cancel this appointment since I had trouble with my insurance but honestly it was probably for the best I was not looking forward to go in since the phone call was very upsetting . I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the way someone speaks to a potential patient can make a lasting impression.
