What an amazing experience. It had been 7 years since my cataracts and my former pair of glasses. Smart Eyes came up 1st on the list for my vision insurance. Dr Yun is thorough and has the latest equipment. She does all the testing herself. There was a slight change to my Rx. Calvin was very helpful and assisted me with selecting the perfect pair of glasses. My insurance offered a great discount and I'll be stopping back for a new pair of sunglasses soon. My new glasses were ready in 8 business days. I need to have a secondary cataract removed next week and I suspect my vision will improve even more. read more

When I looked up where I could use my vision benefits I was met with a meaningless, labyrinthine listing of basically every eye doctor inside of the Chicago area. It felt weird to cross reference this with Yelp ratings to try to make some sense of where to go... But I've definitely done weirder things. This led me to Smart Eyes, which not only was close but also had five stars. Truth be told, I'd actually put off going to an eye doctor for almost the entire year because I didn't want to deal with figuring out how to maximize the vision benefits I actually do have. (This confusion seems to be intentionally engineered by insurance companies.) This was all compounded by my experience in a previous career in vision correction where I was made fully aware of just how hard you can get ripped off on a pair of glasses. Well, they basically did all the work for to get the absolute best pair of glasses I could get to fully maximize my insurance benefits. This ended up being a full eye exam, a bunch of contacts, and a killer pair of glasses. All the equipment they've got is super new, the selection of frames is great, and any weird thing you want they'll just order for you. I've recommended Smart Eyes to a weird number of people because my experience there was so good, and as long as I'm in the area that's definitely where I'll be going for future optical needs. read more

I made an appointment online which was easy. Location was easy to find. Showed up to a clean space with cleaning protocols (if you try on glasses you can't put them back so they can sanitize). They had my insurance coverage information on hand and explained everything to me as far as what was covered. Staff was extremely helpful and introduced me to the Asian fit glasses, as I'm half Korean and constantly struggle to find cute glasses that also fit well. I felt like they genuinely tried to get to know me as a person and help me. I didn't feel pressured to spend more money than I needed to. The exam was quick and not at all awkward. All my concerns were heard and addressed. Everything was easy and pleasant. I honestly didn't know I could enjoy the process this much. I can't wait to go back for my next exam. read more

I found Smart Eyes via Yelp and was looking for a new Eye Dr for my annual exam. I read all the great reviews and the office pictures looked beautiful so I gave it a try. It was everything the reviews noted. Very clean, well lit, professional staff, modern interior, up to date lenses and technology. The Dr was very courteous, knowledgable, and took time to explain things to me. She performed a thorough contact exam and fitting. My family was visiting office 2 years. Clean office, but thats less important when Doctor is "cold". She is busy, she wanted to finish her work, doesn't want to help to review insurance coverage, even if child is eligible for frame replacement if its damaged, and 4 years old is wearing scratched lens 1 year, she didnt want to replace it. Offered a treatment whats not covered, specialists who will help, a lot OUT OF POCKET MONEY. A lot of things, but OF COURSE, IN THIS SITUATION DOCTOR IS ALWAYS RIGHT. read more

Everyone here is the best of the best. They really care about YOU as a patient and as a person. I had a great experience during my annual exam, and everyone has complimented me on my new glasses. (They really walked me through and let me take my time picking out frames. They even reordered a pair of try-on frames and let me know when they came in so that I could try those as well! They ended up being perfect!) I will never go anywhere else as long as I'm in the area. And, as a bonus, they are VERY careful during the pandemic. They take all of the proper and necessary precautions. They didn't answer their phone for an entire day that they were open, then I went in to the store to try to get some frames and they wouldn't let me in without an appointment even though there was no one there (were also very rude about it). Dr. Yun and her staff are my new go-to vision team! They leverage technology in ways I haven't seen before in an optometrist's office, and were kind, patient and friendly. Dr. Yun also educated me that she can do more than prescribe contacts and glasses. I have other systemic health conditions including lupus and Sjögren's and have been seeing an ophthalmologist annually (in addition to seeing an optometrist) for my other eye-care needs (getting my plaquenil toxicity screening and managing my eye dryness), and I'm looking forward to hopefully consolidating my eye health management with their office. She also taught me about a non-invasive way of managing eye dryness that I'm looking forward to trying before pursuing more medical options (again, hopefully with her if I go that route). They also did not hassle me about getting my glasses online with their prescription; they just made sure I had everything I need (they have a solid selection of frames in their office, but I prefer going online). We are new to the area. My daughter, Addy, is 9 and has special needs. She had worn glasses since she was six months old. Recently, we lost Addy's glasses so we went to Facebook to a Naperville Moms group to ask for suggestions about where to go to get Addy some new ones. One Mom mentioned Smart Eyes. After which the Optometrist (and owner) of Smart Eyes, Dr. Yun, herself, posted on the same post! Dr. Yun was helpful from the start. After getting in contact with us she personally took the time to contact out insurance to get all of the information and then set up and appointment for us to bring Addy in so she received personalized attention. We arrived at Smart Eyes to Dr. Yun who took the time to help Addy get fitted with a cool new pair of Ray-Bans. Not only was Dr. Yun incredibly personable but you can tell she loves her job and more importantly her patients. She was incredibly honest with us that Addy didn't need all the bells and whistles which helped us keep the cost down on her new specs.
