Eunice (owner) is very fair about pricing with and without insurance, and her friendliness and expertise make it a pleasure to get glasses. Not many places carry Silhouette frames (rimless) anymore, but Naperville Optical has a full selection, which is what brought me there in the first place about 8 years ago. They have been willing to, at no extra charge, customize the size and shape of my lenses. They have not tried to talk me into buying new frames when I have old frames (previously bought there) that I'd rather use. As an extremely picky glasses wearer, I have refused to even consider buying anywhere else since buying my first pair of glasses with them. They are very responsive and treat me like family. After being a loyal customer of Naperville Optical for six years, I can no longer give them a 5-star rating following today's experience. I wish Eunice had been honest and upfront with me in April about changes to my prescription. From April 12th to July 30th, I visited Naperville Optical five times because the new lenses for my previously well-functioning frames caused dizziness. Each time, Eunice insisted that I would get used to the new prescription. Although Naperville Optical did adjust the lenses, they were unwilling to acknowledge their initial mistake or thoroughly address the issue. Both the doctor and Eunice repeatedly claimed that my vision was deteriorating, but my old frames and lenses were fine up until April 12th. How could my eyes deteriorate so quickly in just three months? I suspect the issue might be related to adjustments made to my old frames during lens installation and the optical center not being aligned correctly. These problems might have been avoided with better transparency from both the doctor and Eunice from the start. Ultimately, replacing each lens and purchasing a new pair of frames did not resolve the issue. As a last resort, I had Eunice reinstall my old lenses to my old frames. She seemed flustered and quickly pressed the old lenses into the frames, leaving noticeable oil and fingerprint smudges. Now being short with me, Eunice instructed me to return the new frames and lenses for a refund because she will now discard the lenses. She also wrote down my prescription as to imply that I do not return to her business again. This experience left me with a bad impression and my scuffed-up old lenses, as Naperville Optical was unwilling to resolve the real issue or admit to their initial mistake. read more

The owners are really nice and helpful, and they repaired my glasses for free when I needed a quick fix a month before I could get new glasses! That being said, it was a very small fix, so please respect their business and don't expect to get free work done, I wish I could have paid them for the help! Naperville Optical honestly gave me the best customer service experience I've received in a brick and mortar store in years! I came there with an updated prescription from a popular chain store, as I wanted a new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses and to update my existing eyeglass frames. The chain store told my eyeglass frames were to old to update lenses only, so I'd have to buy a new pair. Naperville Optical told me absolutely not and I literally had high-quality, updated lenses in my old frames within 30 minutes! For my new Maui Jim sunglasses, they were beyond accommodating, gracious, and helpful when I didn't like the first pair I received and wanted to make some changes. Every single person that works there is kind, friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. I appreciated their help in guiding me towards what frames look best on me. From the initial conversation to the fitting of my prescription glasses I felt very comfortable and taken care of by each one of the employees. The initial reason for going was for my five-year-old child's check-up. The optometrist was very kind and gentle with her. I was comfortably chatting with the woman behind the counter, Eunice, when I began to ask about my own possible appointment.
