Awesome eye doctors - Dr. Robert and Dr. Bauer are fantastic. Great, empathetic, and personalized care from them every single visit. My family of 4 followed Dr. Robert here when he started his practice about 12 years ago and we love the eye doctors at Midwest eye. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Optical Department. Very disappointing. I happened to be in the area and arrived right after they opened one morning, not one customer in Optical or in the waiting area. Asked for a 2-3 minute adjustment to my frames that had been purchased there. Overheard front desk asking Lisa in Optical and she said no, I'm busy, she needs to make an appointment. She didn't walk 15 feet to come over to see what I needed or speak to me herself. I had even said I had no problem waiting if she was busy. They just told me to make an appointment and come back another day. No thanks. I'm not going to take time out of my workday and drive 20 minutes each way to come back for something that should take 2 to 3 minutes. This massive lack of customer service is not on brand for the treatment that we receive from Dr. Robert or Bauer and was highly disappointing. Midwest Eye Optical will not be seeing another dime of my hard-earned money. If we didn't love the eye doctors so much I'd be finding a new one for all 4 of my family members. Loyalty & respect go both ways. It's not hard to treat people well. This interaction was not it. read more

Terrible experience as a new patient with Dr Robert. After trying to understand my insurance and whether the Dr was going to require a dilation, which was never required by a previous eye doctor, the Dr introduced himself and told me to find another practice. Turned around without explanation and left me to walk myself out. I hadn't even made the decision or heard the Dr's opinion. Stunned and in disbelief of the unprofessionalism and hour wasted to see him. read more

Do NOT go here!!!! They are not true to their word! They give you blank forms to sign and then put check marks (not your own!) next to services you never agreed to! I specifically told them I did not want any services not paid for by insurance. They went ahead and gave me those services anyway and then charged me! Even sent me to a credit reporting agency and ruined my credit / for a whopping $48!!! that they could have easily just credited. They lost my business forever! Do not go here! Very unscrupulous business / no ethics!!! Horrible people ~ horrible place!!!! I don't usually write reviews - but feel it important to let others know about this business. read more

She was friendly, explained what she was doing and answered all of my 6 year olds questions that he could come up with. It was a great first visit for him! read more

Dr Roberts is great. They do a detailed exam to determine the overall health of your eyes. Everyone treats you well.

I got a prescription at Midwest Eye and wanted new glasses. I was told they could put new lenses in my old frames but they emphasized the they would not be responsible if the frame broke as they were putting in new lenses and I'd have to pay for the broken ones plus the new frames and lenses if they broke. After they took a look at my old frames they said the quality wasn't great and that I should get new frames. I didn't really love any of their frames nearly as well as my old ones, but I got some anyway, fearing the alternative. The new frame had an issue with wobbly hinges and they replaced them at no cost. The replacement also had an issue with wobbly hinges. I had never experienced this with my old frames which were of "lesser quality". It was only after I went to another eyecare shop closer to my house they I discovered that I had been mislead. I told them how I really still liked my older frames best and they said no problem we can put new lenses in them. I asked about them breaking, and they said it almost never happens. In fact they could only recall one case after being in business for many years. I'm still so angry about how Midwest misled me that a very small insignificant potential issue was a very large issue and kept emphasizing it. I will never go back, even though I thought the eye doctor was top notch. read more

My husband and I were I today for eye exam and new glasses with Dr Roberts. During the Covid pandemic I want to say how professional dr and his staff all were! I felt safe as well as cared for and respected! My favorite part? I always hate picking out glasses. With all the safety procedures in place, Deb gave me 5 choices to pick from after asking many questions to get my wants and needs. I bought the first pair she picked for me! I had my eye exam and ordered new lenses for my existing frame. I ordered lenses. I only found out when I called six weeks later that they never put through the order for my lenses. I ordered the lenses and was content to wait for them to arrive. I was not notified when the lenses arrived at their store, and did not find out they were in until I called to check about it. After coming in, I found that they had ordered the wrong lenses that did not fit my frame (even though my frame is a brand they carry in-store). read more

I went to Midwest Eye Inst. for the first time today. I am new to the area. I researched the optometrists in the area and believed Dr. Robert's qualifications to be exceptional. The outside building is very deceiving. The office area, once you walk in, is new, clean, modern, well-laid out and large. As you sign in everyone is very friendly. BE SURE to fill out the paperwork they send online BEFORE going to the appointment- it is very detailed and makes your first visit much smoother. There is a vast array of beautiful new frames to glance through until your optometrist is ready. You can later buy frames, if you choose, with their in-house optician. The assistants (I met two) are very kind, courteous, professional and knowledgeable about their job of taking your eye measurements and guiding you easily through the different machines needed to assess your eyes. I saw Dr Roberts who was, again, kind, patient, concerned and I was able to understand a great deal about the health of my eyes from his explanation. Also, Dr. Roberts was a very knowledgeable and professional optometrist who guided me through the process of examining my vision and helped with some difficulties I was having concerning my eyes adapting to glasses vs. contacts. He was very careful to examine my retinas and assess me for glaucoma and cataracts. I am very happy to have found Dr. Roberts and look forward to putting all of my eyecare in his hands. read more

This is a great eye clinic. My entire family goes here. The office is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly, and the doctors are both excellent. You will receive a very complete and thorough eye exam and they always tell you exactly what each test is looking for. Dr Robert was very patient friendly and capable, taking time to get to know me as well as providing excellent care. I was impressed with the overall operation although somewhat dismayed at how long it took start to finish. There were numerous start & stops and maybe some double booking(triple?) may have led to that. Great selections of quality frames to choose from. Does take over a week to have the glasses ready so be prepared. Prices are competitive with other private eye care. Friendly and professional staff. Sometimes you encounter less experienced staff that doesn't understand the value of treating patients like gold, this is not the case here. It seems the staff was picked from the cream of the crop in the industry. Everything was explained clearly, communication is a well honed skill here. Had such a great experience at Midwest Eye! Friendly, professional and warm staff. Dr Bauer found the perfect contacts for my severe astigmatism and horrible seasonal allergies. He was also great with my 5-year-old for her first eye exam. Both Dr Bauer and Andrea, one of the technicians patiently answered all of my 5-year-olds incessant questions about the eye and the exam and were also very patient with her squirminess.
