Skowron Eye Care - The "magic" glasses! - Optometrists Near Me - Elmhurst, Illinois

I do not have enough space to write my experience. I will sum it up by writing, from beginning to end my visit was extremely nice, comfortable and very pleasant. From the assistants to Dr. Skowron. I must say I have seen many medical specialist, but Dr. Skowron by far was the best, and it shows that he cares about his patients. Thank you for you and your team and the care you provide. read more

I used to really love this place. My doctor is great, the follow-up on the correct prescription by their lab is absolutely horrible. It's been weeks and I still don't have the correct glasses. This makes me sad. read more

Great service! I had my annual exam and they did a good job to make sure my insurance covered it and I paid less out of pocket.

I brought my wife's several year old glasses in because one of the earpieces was breaking away from the frame. A very pleasant Marisol disappeared into some magic room and brought them back a few minutes later-- not only fixed, but cleaned as well. And it was free!!! Ya gotta love people and places long ke that, read more

I had the task of getting my elderly father out to be fitted for glasses for the first time in years. But due to his mobility issues, hearing loss and personality changes from dementia, even the simplest tasks require major effort and the patience of all involved. Because of his mood issues I hadn't made an appointment for fear I'd just end of breaking it. I called the same day, embarrassed, but they were able to see him. His frustrations with his limitations often make him not very nice. And this was no exception and even though staff was clearly taken aback by his behavior, they were professional, kind, patient and mercifully efficient. An excellent experience. read more

Dr. Michelle Skowron is amazing! She took the time to sit down and explain everything to me. I have been using glasses and contact lenses from a very young age and have never fully understood why I was having the issues. I never felt rushed and she had a great personality! Excellent eye care! I have used Skowron Eye Care for over 15 years. Professional, caring staff!

Actually had been going there for years , past visit glasses out of focus, went back a couple times , unable to talk to doctor to re-examine , technician was very bossy and insisted it keep trying glasses . Finally gave up so after 10 years went to another doctor, re-examined, was able to get the glasses I wanted and fully satisfied read more

For nearly 30 years Dr Skowron had been our eye doctor. You can check all the other reviews about the technology he has invested in and the care he provides - you don't need me to repeat what's already been written. But, I will provide a quick story. My wife could not get her contact out and was afraid that she would damage her eye if she continued to pry it out. This was going on at 9:30pm on a Friday night. She wanted to leave a message for Dr. Skowron, but the Dr. S picks up the phone and told her to meet him at his office at 10pm. Are you serious? Who does that anymore? Only one heck of a caring medical professional. We were blown away by his compassion and consideration. Needless to say we highly recommend Skowron Eye Care. read more

Great place. Been coming here for about 4 years. All of the optometrists are friendly, have a nice sense of humor and very thorough in their exams. All of the staff are nice and helpful. They have a pretty moderate selection of glasses . Enough styles for you to pick out the perfect pair in the perfect price range. The staff are helpful in adjusting and repairing glasses and they're always willing to give you extra wipes. read more

I've had three optometrists at Skowron eye care and all have been excellent. MY most recent experience was with Dr. Stiller who nailed a difficult prescription for progressive and reading glasses. I had a vitrectomy in August for a puckered retina and went to Costco for new glasses in late September. The first Costco optometrist got it all wrong. The second did well on the progressive lenses but not on the reading glasses. I went for my checkup to Dr. Stiller at Skowron and she nailed both prescriptions and evaluated my incorrectly prescribed glasses from Costco. It is wonderful to finally have glasses I can see out of although my left eye with the puckered retina will never be perfect. I highly recommend Skowron Eye Care. read more

If you enjoy clerks with an attitude and disrespectful, then this is for you. Daisy especially wins the award for unprofessionalism. While the doctors are probably good, don't go at the end of the day, the clerks will rush you out because they close promptly so you probably have to come several times. Keep driving there are other options, you won't regret it. read more
