Never go here!! They are very helpful until there is a problem with the quality of the product their lab provides that they cannot solve then they walk away. No longer their problem. Just your problem you wasted lots of money and time trying to go solve their labs crap quality products. Don't waste your home or money. And trying to contact customer service is a big joke. Pearle Vision Melrose Park is by far one of the most unprofessional places I have been to in recent, none of the front desk workers were able to get onto the same page. I had recently booked an appointment to be seen, but after having 4 people look at my account, none could find it, even though the person who originally found my account and booked my appointment had already said I was good to go for my appointment. After leaving the premises, I was called back shortly saying that they finally found my information, given this was approximately 30 or so minutes after my originally scheduled appointment. The disorganization is absolutely unreal, I have been going to Pearle for over 15 years and now they are struggling to find consistent costumers in their computer systems? Not only this but a friend of mine recently had to cancel their contact order because it somehow got lost in translation as she had waited over 6 months for her order, calling month after month with no resolution to the issue. I personally took that incident as a one off but now I understand why my friend had that experience. Whether it is a change in management or a problem with outdated computer systems/ point of sale systems, it seems to be that the Pearle Vision in Melrose Park is all about trying to make as many sales as possible on the commission sales of frames rather than truly making a painless experience for their customers and patrons. I highly suggest that if you are looking for Quality glasses and Quality customer service, you begin by looking at places outside of the Pearle Vision in Winston Plaza. read more

Dr. Lang is consistently exceptional--professional, thorough, and the sole reason I have returned year after year. Unfortunately, this visit was overshadowed by an extremely unprofessional experience with Lori that I cannot overlook. My daughter clearly stated she was looking for inexpensive frames. Rather than responding respectfully, Lori mocked her choice of words and then repeated and broadcasted her request to other staff members, using the term "cheapie" as if it were something offensive or laughable. This was inappropriate, unnecessary, and deeply unprofessional. A patient's financial preferences or limitations should never be ridiculed or shared with others, regardless of wording. Lori does not know my daughter's reasoning for needing inexpensive frames, nor should she have needed to. What made the situation worse is that my daughter was also told the office does carry affordable options--making the correction of her language feel condescending rather than helpful. This interaction was embarrassing and upsetting, particularly for a young patient, and reflects a lack of discretion and professionalism that I do not expect in a healthcare setting. While I have been a loyal customer and truly value Dr. Lang's care, this experience disturbed me enough that I will not be returning to this location. This is terrible place! I wish I had read the reviews before spending $500 (after the insurance). They will tell you how you have 30 days to return the glasses if you don't like it (I was not sure whether to try the progressive lenses) but they won't tell you the fee associated with that. Customer Service: Excellent. Optometrist: Excellent Frame Selection: Excellent Lenses: Horrible! I got a pair of glasses with the works!Progressive , transitional, lenses with every coating offered. Hands down the MOST EXPENSIVE GLASSES I'VE EVER PURCHASED by at least $300! Within the first month I started noticing abrasions on the lenses just from cleaning. Plus whatever I'd going on I have to clean the lenses about 5-6 times everyday because something is attracting dust and grime. Went back in and learned that there's no warranty whatsoever. "Sorry, there's nothing we can do." You know, I want to get angry at the employee, but it's not her fault. So now I'm just mad. So I kept using these terrible glasses for another cpuple months as more and more abrasions seem to be added weekly. Finally, I just gave up and bought a new pair from Costco. Paid 60% less for the same lens options, and absolutely zero issues at all after six months; not a scratch. I clean them once in the morning and on most days, that's it! I don't know what's going on Pearle, but hello, Costco, goodbye Pearle! read more

Not sure how they stay in business they give you prescriptions that force you into contact brands you didn't ask for. And when I try to go somewhere else they don't accept the prescription because they have their brand on it which is forcing me into lenses that I don't want. When you've been on a specific brand for so long changing isn't something that come easily. Cause if my eyes hurt then obviously they're not working the way they should. I go else where for my contacts which is my choice as pearle can't match my brand. But making my prescription showing only pearles brand is not right so I can't go else where. I call bs and waiting over 45 min for something the doc can fix in 5 min is crazy! As they close at that time so it's their way of not doing their job. Every time I have gone in there they have workers standing around. Like there's nobody in this place. No wonder it's always dead in there. Gabriela lied as well saying she will fix it. Go lie to others Gabriela. Emma do better with your employees. Oh and let me not forget when your employees forgot to make me sign for a paper last time and had to call and email me to sign the paper THEY forgot. Great job they also do not answer the phone within the first few rings til voicemail. Like that's a solid 30 seconds before voicemail. Making you call back multiple time Not sure who the doctors report to but they have to report to someone and they should know they force into their brand which make money yes but I've stuck with America's best brand for like 7 years I'm not changing. But give prescriptions as I paid for it without the brand!!!!!! what is the issue!!!!!!! I paid for this service which is crazy! I did not like the service from Lori, she was rushing my husband and I to pick glasses, I needed an itemized receipt bc our employer gives us a rebate for what we paid out of pocket and when I asked for a receipt she gave me a attitude and tried to smart talk to me like if it was going to come out of her pocket. She talks rudely and I did not appreciate the service at all I will not be returning as long as she's there Glasses were the most expensive glasses I purchased and they still suck I see glares and they get dirty every 5 minutes and I don't even know how if I don't touch the lenses. read more

Very good experience. My husband and I both got new glasses. Dr. Lang was wonderful answering questions that we had and was on time and efficient. The individuals helping us pick out frames and figure out our insurance & discounts were very good too. My only problem was that I had to be proactive in asking about the promotion discounts but once I asked they looked into it and found $100 rebate we were eligible for. The eye technician wasn't too clear that the retina scan was optional and an extra cost so my husband got it without knowing this. Just know your insurance ahead of time and you'll get great service and reasonable prices but be sure to let them know you're on a budget. Great experience overall! read more

The eye doctor and staff for the eye exam were great! Got me in quick to update my prescription and talked me through everything and felt super comfortable. They get 5/5 stars in my book. Then I know they send you up front to look for glasses and try to get you to buy things but to wait for almost an hour to talk to someone flipped my experience really quickly. I had some questions for the front staff about some frame options that I was considering but that quickly dwindled when the wait was too long and I just wanted to pay, get my prescription, and leave. Plus with the ability to try on frames at home from sites like Warby Parker I don't feel pressured to make a quick decision or like I'm being sold something and they were cheaper at Warby Parker than my options at Pearle Vision. read more

I've been coming here since I was 6 years old I am now 32 - so many changes and not for the better over the years but I've kept my loyalty. I came in for an exam on a Tuesday January 16th and put in an order for a years worth of contacts after advising my doctor that I have been on the same pair for the last 3 months due to moving to California - he did not have any in stock to hold me over but also did not take the initiative to expedite my order it is now February 5th and my order is still not in - I have called multiple times and everytime I do they change the story of how long it should take first it was 2 weeks then when the 2 weeks were up it was 5-10 business days then 14 business days then it is typically 3 weeks - was told they would keep me updated did not receive not one call for any kind of update - crazy that nothing could be done for me considering they should be worried about my eye health- will be looking to switching doctors after this. read more

My daughter also needed an emergency visit for an injury to her eye and Dr. Blase was able to taker her right away and he was able to treat her. When I went in for my exam the Dr never told me I had a Pinguecula on my eye (which I already knew about but he never mentioned it or how to help it) The assistant by the name of Monica was nice when helping me pick out glasses and stuff I needed. When asking about the transition and blue light price she said there was only one plan for it. She also told me my insurance doesn't cover my lens which seems strange because I checked and it said it did but Monica said the lens I needed they didn't cover. I also notice she added a polish and edging on there without my knowledge. The price before insurance was almost $1000 after insurance I had to pay almost $300. After leaving it just didn't seem right that the price was so high. I called my insurance and come to find out Monica was picking the elite prices for every thing I added (transition & blue light.) with the transition I didn't even need the blue light because it was including with the elite plan. But she never told me and still added the $80 for elite blue light. My insurance covered my lens but she told me that they didn't. After hearing all of that I went to cancel the next the next day but was told I couldn't because there was no manger there. The receptionist by the name of Jackie is the only person I would give 5 stars to because she was very professional and very polite with helping me get my refund. read more

AFTER my son was seen for his eye and contact lens exam we waited 15 minutes to be checked out to find out he was not eligible for his existing patient comprehensive exam, refraction and Optos Screening, because they had no providers that accepted my insurance. If i would have known this PRIOR TO MY SON'S APPOINTMENT AND PRIOR TO BE SEEN BY THE OPHTHALMOLOGIST, I would have cancelled my son's appointment to be seen at another location where they would have accepted my insurance. I am aware that contacts are not covered under my plan and i was actually planning to pay out of pocket for those. I find this truly unprofessional. I made the young lady know that it would have been great if they told me this ahead of time. She sweetly said "i do apologize for the inconvenience". I paid my bill and will be expecting to pick up my son's contacts soon. I've been with them for years for them to not make me aware of any change in their insurance policy is just super unprofessional. Thanks for putting a hole in my pocket. Everyone here is super friendly and fun! I saw Dr. Blase and he was extremely friendly and found something in my eye that my previous eye doctor either A never saw or B never mentioned and I'd been going to him since i was a sophomore in high school, but they don't take my insurance so i had to go elsewhere. So as soon as I walk in they check me and asked for both my vision and health insurance I've never been asked for both at the eye dr so I thought that was weird but went with it. I waited for a few minutes then was called to take the puff test, the blue light test and vision test. Shortly after that I was seen by dr. Blase which was really quick. He then had me take some further tests. I picked out my frames and had them the same day!! I thought that was the coolest since I used to have to wait a week to two weeks. The price of frames or pretty high here. I didn't really see anything cute or fashionable or that looked good on me below $140. I'll be back to see the specialist so hopefully that experience goes as well as the first! read more

Absolutely lovely staff and place. Clean and inviting. I went there for my first eye exam and the Dr. was knowledgeable and very polite. I made an appointment and had a very short wait time. Grace helped me put my order in for frames and she said that although the insurance requires her to say that the frames may take up to 10 business days they usually come in sooner. It took only three business days. They have from discounted to luxury frames. They also have sunglasses and offer great deals. The pick up was quick. In and out. I used insurance but they offered me 40% on sunglasses for the next thirty days which I plan on using. Will definitely visit again next time I need an eye exam. read more

Let me start by saying Dr. Blase is so nice!!! The staff is very friendly. The location is very clean and tidy and there is a nice selection of frames for myself and my son. My complaint has to do with the staff (not the doctor) and their knowledge. I first booked an appt for the day prior and was told when I came in that I had to wait one more day to use my Insurance. Not sure why I wasn't called prior to my appointment but I was like ok. I made an appointment for the next day for myself and my son. We came in and were taken on time for our appointment, everything went smooth. Now we come out to order our glasses. I am told my insurance requires our glasses sent to their lab.... well my eyes are bad so I decided to buy mine with the discount Pearl offered, all so I could have my glasses in an hour. Well it was late so I knew I'd come back. No big deal but I reiterated to everyone that I would need my glasses and would be back the next day. I was told ok they would be ready. I even asked because my glasses are progressive that they can be done in the stores lab and I was told yes. So I decided to order a back up pair, use my insurance for mine and my sons knowing they won't be back for two weeks. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to pick up my glasses this evening and I'm told they won't be back for 5 days because they are sent out for the anti-glare. I'm like what?! I said multiple times I was ordering a second pair for myself cauSe these would be ready today. All I was told is sorry but we can make you a pair without the anti glare and have them ready in an hour. Now it's 7pm and I'm sure they won't be ready in a hour. At this point I could have just gone to America's Best and had my glasses in 5 days, all three pairs and saved a ton of money. I am so upset and angry because I asked and explained these were important for me to have today. Now let's home they are in.... turns out that put a rush on the glasses and they are in. Also.... they found some other issues with another pair I ordered and were able to fix. The young girl who helped me was sweet as can be, but probably needs a little more training. Gone are the days of walking into a vision store or center and not feeling like you just got totally stiff handed and taken advantage of. I went in to have a vision exam, contact lens exam and get glasses All of which was covered by my vision insurance, or so I thought. Turns out you have to pay full price for the contact lens exam if you are only getting glasses, not a single person informed me of this until the end of the process when I was paying my copays on my glasses. You would think someone would have said "Hey since you're not purchasing contact lens through us today the exam will cost you the full $60 and your insurance won't cover it (so say). Also as we're working on paying the copays for my glasses, there were totally unnecessary add ons added to them, like feather the lenses to make them lighter. Look I'm no idiot, I KNOW my prescription is NOT that strong and it's totally unnecessary, I don't have coke bottle thick lenses. So I had argue to take these unnecessary things off. I still walked out paying way more than I intended for sure and totally am unhappy with the amount I spent. Oh and did I mention the absolute insane markup on glasses frames?! I could buy the frames direct from the brands and pay way less, only reason I had to stick with purchasing from Pearle is because I wanted to use my insurance since that's the reason I pay to have vision insurance! Only reason this review is getting 2 Stars is because of Dr. Lang, he was actually great and corrected a mistake in my previous prescription from another place. Also Dr. Lang was very informative, I never even knew I had slight astigmatism until my appointment with him and I've seen many eye doctors who have never mentioned it. I wish I could say I'd be back to see Dr. Lang next year, but unfortunately Pearle Vision ruined that and I won't be back. No one wants to leave a vision center with new glasses or contacts feeling buyers remorse or regret like this. It's unfortunate insurance companies and franchise vision centers ruin it for good eye doctors. Update/Response: Actually my VSP benefits shows that the contact lens exam is covered. This is why I was confused and do not understand why I was paying for it regardless of whether I received a contact prescription or not. My benefits on VSP literally says this below. "Coverage: $175.00 allowance for your contact lens exam and contacts" I tried letting the woman helping me know this but she seemed to not want to hear it and wanted to be sure I was charged substantially. read more

First off, the technician who gives you the initial exam, did not warn me that there would be Air puff into my eyes. Other larger optical centers advise you of the exam. When I asked why she didn't mention it she smiled.. My glasses was suppose to be ready in two weeks, no one called.. so I called. EMMA stated something about the lenses, and she someone call me the next day with the status, of course I did not recieve a call. So again I had to call back.. I spoke to someone, and they said my glasses has been ready for 4 days..wow. I asked to speak to the manager (Emma), and she stated someone called me and left a message, when she read the number to me.. of course they called the wrong number. This is unacceptable, you fill out a form when you arrive with your personal information, and once you choose a pair of glasses they ask for your telephone number.. so how is it possible to call the wrong number, this is BAD BUSINESS. Since it is franchised there is no consequences, I will not be going back...BE AWARE. read more

After I had been told by two las vegas pearle locations that my (3 month old, purchased for me, at the winston plaza location, by my mother when i was visiting for my grandmother's funeral ) frames which came apart while i was sitting still at my desk would only have been covered if i had purchased independent insurance ... I forlornly made one more attempt. I had the good fortune to encounter Sean who listened to my situation and within minutes had arranged for the company to replace the frame!
