Went to location to get my daughters fixed for a scratch under warranty. They took it in and used 2024 prescription. They incorrectly used the wrong prescription on file. I contacted corporate and they advised me that the store manager would contact me. All I was offered was a 60% discount and if not for me to use my insurance. They would not make the situation right on something that was not my error. tge customer always right was not in this situation. Beware and do not shop at this location. read more

From the minute I walked in to the minute I left this was a five star experience. The receptionist Lupe could not have been friendlier when I was greeted and she was also helpful checking me out when I bought new glasses. Dr. Stephan Hanowsky is probably the best optometrist I have ever experienced as a patient. His exam was comprehensive and he answered all my questions with knowledge. And parking was easy! Free and right next to Target. read more

The worst experience ever. I had my lenses changed at this location, and I asked about ten times if my old lenses could be returned to me. The staff assured me that they always return them to clients, and that I would receive mine after the work was completed in two weeks. They also promised that if anything happened, they would compensate me. However, after the work was done, no one contacted me. I called a couple of times, but no one returned my calls. When I finally visited, the assistant refused to discuss my order with me, and the supervisor came and simply said that they had thrown my lenses away. There was no further explanation or compensation. I would not recommend Visionworks to anyone--be careful, as they don't seem to care about their customers. read more

Visionworks at Harlem & Irving Plaza. I wanted to wait to see how my new progressive glasses worked out before leaving a review. The staff here is amazing and extremely accommodating. Lupe gave proper instruction on how to adjust and gave extremely helpful feedback. Dr. Gonzalez is wonderful! Made me feel like we've been friends for years. Easy to talk to and is extremely thorough with his examinations. He expeditiously pinpointed my problem and offered articulate solutions to my needs in minutes. Glasses look great and arrived far sooner than expected. I have since adjusted to them perfectly and can see normal for the first time in about 2 years! Overall phenomenal service. Highly recommended. Thank you for such a pleasant experience. Very best regards and warmest wishes to Dr. Gonzalez and the entire staff. Rick Ruiz read more

I will just tag on to some of the other patients! Dr. Gonzalez is definitely in the right profession and his bedside manner as described is one of the best I have experienced! Tayes was Awesome!! Well informed on her product and able to share this knowledge with me as a patient. Love my glasses, both pair!! I have 4 stars because I was not as impressed when I picked up my glasses and Tayes was not in that day. I was also shocked that there was not a cleaning cloth in either of my glasses cases. Weird. Other than that little hiccup in service. I am pleased. read more

The staff at Visionworks-HIP are absolutely AMAZING!!! I stopped in on a whim to have my glasses fixed and was pleasantly impressed by the outmost care every single member demonstrated. From Fabi at reception, to the techs William and Although the staff at visionworks on a Elston was quite pleasant, I was highly disappointed with the run around I experienced when correcting an order which NEVER even received action or follow up. Upon hearing of my unfortunate situation with a different store, the staff at the HIP attempted to correct the wrong. My recommendation is Go visit visionworks at the HIP -for your vision needs read more

For several years we have gone to see Dr Gonzalez for our eye care needs and have always been very happy with the time and care he shows us during our appointments. This Summer my young daughter requested contacts for the first time after being frustrated for years of sports with glasses. She was excited, yet very nervous, for her fitting that happened to be on her birthday. Anna and Veronica made her feel so special from the moment she walked in the door. Their gentle patience and kindness toward her calmed her nerves, instantly making her more comfortable and relaxed in what can be a frustrating task of getting contacts in and out for the first time. They made the experience so wonderful that she looks for them and gives a quick wave anytime we might pass by the storefront. They made her transition to contacts an amazing one and for that I am so grateful. read more

Terrible customer service. Will be going to Warby Parker for my eye exams from now on. Great customer service & lenses w/ frames only $95!!!

I walked in here on Thursday night and was looking for new frames. I tried on several as I waited for assistance. Not one but two girls 'working' couldn't bother to say hello or ask if I needed help. I walked out. If my business is not going to be appreciated I have no problem taking it elsewhere. If you have Davis vision for your insurance you should try Sarena Eyecare. They are fantastic. read more

I love this place and I remember it thanks to the best doctor Miguel Gonzalez. He is so professional and patient. Honestly I recommend it to everyone to go there and get this beautiful experience. After two years I had to return there and again left this place with a smile. Stuff is also really nice. Thank you so so much. read more

Dr. Gonzalez is the only reason I scheduled my eye exam, but he was not there on the date that I picked two weeks earlier. They could have notified me and I would have re-scheduled for when he was back. The fill in doctor had no knowledge of the contact lenses she prescribed and set me up with contact lenses that nobody carries; not Costco, Walgreens, 1-800 Contacts.....nobody. Sending an email to customer service got me nothing more than a canned response and no updated prescription I can actually use. I now have to pay for another eye exam with a competent eye doctor who knows the products they prescribe. read more

The doctor made the experience perfect. Informative and polite. When I picked up the contacts one of the lady's made me feel like I was a bother to them. I want to say the one that sits on the main desk. I don't know. I rather deal with a automated system then deal with the rude comments. I'm sorry I don't like making peoples job hard but I think good customer service goes a long way. Unfortunately my old optometrist retired. Looking for a new one soon read more

Had an amazing experience from start to finish after a horrible experience the day before with eye deal eye care. I called and got a same day appointment. Easy, New location inside hip mall. After filling out paperwork went straight in for my eye exam. Dr. Patel was excellent and quick with finding my prescription, what took hours doing with a previous Dr at another facility that wasn't even to get me a prescription I can see through. Reyna then was a great help with choosing frames. She chose a couple she thought I would like and gave me my personal time and space to choose and look around. I bought 3 pair! After getting my first pair I was pleased with the prescription. No more headaches or heavy eyes. Definitely a go to place if looking for new glasses. Not many brand names but definitely a huge selection to choose from. :D read more

My experience here was beyond reproach. I have visited optometrists about 10 times in my lifetime. Those visits scaled from bad to mediocre at best. Here Dr.Gonzalez and Eric were Beyond giving, with their time, patience and professionalism. Dr. Gonzalez had an amazing bedside manner, was two to three times more thorough with his testing than any of my prior eams. He also took some time to explain what he was doing and even help me find glasses that works for me. From there Eric spent an hour plus with me going through every frame that I thought was good and also provided insight on frames that I would have not considered. I wish I took a picture when he literally had dozens frames lined up for me to try and offered his personal insight on each pair. I highly recommend taking your eyes here as the staff will go above and beyond in every way to provide the best experience possible. read more

I love this place and the staff was very helpful and resourceful. Dr Gonzalez's bedside manner was very professional and sweet. His examination was thorough and precise especially since I am a diabetic. His recommendations were key to my eye health. The young lady who took care of us was very knowledgeable and professional as well. Tayes was very helpful as she explained everything our insurance covered and answered all of our questions. My husband and I were very well cared for at this site! Thank you all at this store for your help!!!! We will be back!!!! Paul and Elizabeth Rodriguez read more

You have to wear a mask when entering, which is totally understandable. They accept my insurance so it basically covered everything for me. People were very nice and helpful when it came to choosing my glasses and adjusting them. I recommend this place if you're in the area, very fast service too. read more

Today I was headed out of town for a conference and in a rush I realized 10 minutes away from O'hare that I had forgotten my contacts at home. So I looked up the nearest Visionworks in the hope that I could purchase a pair. From the moment, I walked in the store the customer service or over and beyond. Anne was so nice and helpful. Without hesitation to worked to help me come up to a resolution. In the end, I ended up with contacts and solution for my trip. I hate that I live over an hour away on a good day from this location, because I would happily come to this location just for the pleasant customer service alone. I will be sure to recommend this location to my friends and co-workers who live nearby and tell them to see Anne. Thank you so much Anne for everything. You rock! read more

I had an incredible experience at vision works this week. I had the pleasure of working with Anna and she exceeded all of my expectations. From common product knowledge to general info. She provided everything that I needed during my visit. Doctor was very nice with and courteous. I definitely recommend this location and if you happen to stop by please ask for Anna. read more

In the last 25 years I went thru two dozen or more eye examinations at few different optical outlets including Visionworks at different locations. Overall my opinion about eye examinations and optometrists performing it is not very positive. My estimate based on my own experience is that about 30% of people are wearing wrong prescriptions and wrong eye glasses. My own prescriptions were wrong about 1/3 of the time and I had to go thru second sometimes third eye examination. So where is my 5 star review coming from? From Visionworks at Harlem Irving Plaza and Dr Gonzales. I was impressed with this place starting from Anna at the front desk to the chair where Dr Gonzales performed my eye examination. Dr Gonzales patiently listens to everything you have to say about your vision concerns, doesn't rush thru examination takes time, as much as needed to generate prescription. I wish all optometrists had similar approach. I would definitely recommend Dr Gonzales as your first stop for eye examination at Visionworks at HIP read more

Visionworks - Well she did not write my review, I did it - Optometrists Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Horrible horrible service. I've walked in numerous times and they're just so insensitive.

I decided to go here for a contacts exam and was not happy. I was given a prescription that was not correct. I told the doc that I still cannot see clear enough and he said I shouldn't go any stronger because I'll go "cross eyed". I thought that was rude and unprofessional of him to say. I was given ONE PAIR OF TRIAL CONTACTS with my new prescription. I was not told they were two week contact so I threw them out after one day since I assumed they were daily. When I went back to see if I could get another pair so I don't have to wear glasses while waiting for my shipment of contacts to arrive, I was told I can't get another pair. If I am a customer that paid for an exam, why wouldn't you give me another pair? It's ridiculous that you'd let a customer leave unhappy about something so simple. I will be taking my business elsewhere! I do not recommend this place. read more

Great location that is closer to home. I stopped in to briefly look at frames and was immediately greeted by a young lady. A few caught my eye for my future pair for next year. Only one star dr great but front staff was bitchy and judgemental. Don't be prissy when in reality it's a mall and not high end either. Attended to blah! The guy was rude and had his nose up at everyone. It's a people business why not like people ? read more

I had an amazing experience here. It started when Michelle helped me pick out frames. She was very patience and so helpful. She took the time to help me find exactly the right frames that would work the best with my glass prescription. It was a great start. When I returned to pick them up, Ann was there to assist. She fitted them for me and was so kind and funny too! She took the time to make sure I was happy and satisfied. I highly recommend this Visionworks location. The staff is really wonderful. read more

I walked in two weeks ago and was helped by Malik. He was very professional and was informative. He had my business. Here's a tip to book if schedule is full. Pick a date but have notifications and texts on. I was lucky someone canceled and I was able to get in with Dr. Gonzalez. Professional and makes you comfortable. Back to see Malik to figure out what I'm buying. A young woman helped out making selections for me. I didn't get her name. This special they have buy 1 get 1 is a no brainer. They have Ray Ban. That is the top of the line there. they have been making glasses frames for a long time. High quality and modern look. I also did a pair of sunglasses prescription with polarize. Amazing! I bought a third pair off brand for back up. Everything under $900! You can not beat that! Mixed with the service and you have the perfect spot for eye care. It took 10 days from my exam to purchase to picking them up and being helped by the same woman that helped me before. Great staff! It's in the mall which is a nice walk with your new glasses on. read more

My insurance benefits were exhausted so I decided to check places in search of better selection of frames and a more competitive price. Visionworks was my last resort (I didn't want to go to the mall). But after leaving 3 other places because of price, I decided to give them a try. Excellent customer service - both ladies that took care of us were so helpful and professional! And they worked with me to give me the best deal possible, since my benefits don't kick in for another year. Saved a ton of money and can't say enough about the staff here!. Great selection of frames - almost three times as many as the Lenscrafters I used to go to - and love the brand selection... Decided to make an appointment at Visionworks due the great reviews, called and made my appointment with Dr. Gonzalez. The gentleman on the phone was very professional and efficient, asked him how long an appointment normally takes and he responded 30 minutes. I was impressed when my phone dinged and received a text message confirming my appointment...quickly replied back with my "Y" to confirm. Was equally impressed when I received yet another reminder the day prior. Thought to myself, this place is "on it" and time was (and still is) important to me since I was using my lunch break for the appointment. Now it is the day of the appointment, arrived, filed out some quick paper work and was instructed to the sitting area untill I was called. 30 minutes later and I'm still waiting (I did check out the frames and picked out a few just to be proactive..planned on buying 2 pairs of glasses). No one gave me an update, so I asked how delayed the Dr. Gonzalez was and was told "oh your next!". Now it is 12:15 (45 minutes after my scheduled time...so much for those text reminders) and decided to head out and take my business elsewhere. I would have gladly rescheduled if they were transparent from the start on how delayed the doctor was. Note to Visionworks and Dr. Gonzalez a patient's time is just as valuable as your time. read more
