Classic eye Dr. Reminds me of my small town shop back home. The gals that work there are super nice and helpful. I was waiting on contacts to come in for a vacation I was going to and when they didn't arrive when I thought, I gave them a call. They remember me from when I mentioned the vacation and immediately went into action to find them. They even had a back up plan where they would give me a couple of contacts from their supply in case mine didn't come in in time so I would be set for the vacation. Luckily, they arrived in time and the staff was super excited for me! As someone who used to work as a front facing person for many jobs, the energy you give usually gets returned; so be kind and kindness will follow. read more

This wasn't my first eye doctor because I have an eye condition called esotropia and so when i was young, i had to go to a specialist, but now that i have been coming here for probably a decade now, I really love them here. At first I had Dr. Randazzo because my mom and sister has been coming here much longer than me and had him, but with my eye condition, he prescribed too high of a prescription in my left eye which caused extreme eye strain right as I put the glasses on. Now I go to Dr. Maitino, and she's a sweetheart who is always so informative and who fixed my glasses prescription. She's actually the doctor who told me what my eye condition is called because I had others tell me mixed things, but when I looked it up, it's exactly what I have. The girls who fit glasses for you and who you order glasses from are all very nice and very helpful. They of course try to upsell certain things, but they mostly have the best intentions at heart. They have many cute glasses frames with many different brands such as Nike, Ray Ban, Kate Spade, In-Style, and 5th Ave. I bought a cute pair of glasses yesterday with premium lenses for $260, which isn't bad at all because the lenses are thing and glare-proof! I can't wait to get them in a week! My old glasses are from here too! read more

After putting off getting my annual eye exam, I finally made an appt. The optometrist who saw me went above and beyond to make sure he was giving me the best prescription. I somehow landed between two prescriptions, so we thoroughly went through different vision tests and determined that I should go with the higher prescription. I never have had that level of thoroughness from an optometrist from any eye care place I have been to ever since I've first gotten glasses. It looks like maybe For Eyes is under new ownership or management, so the interior looks more spacious. All in all, I am glad I continued to come back here for my visual needs. read more

I used to go to an eye doctor there so when my mom needed a recommendation for where to get her reading. In short, the sales representative Victoria did not correctly record the type of glass frames my mom wanted and rather than reading glasses, my mom got far site glasses. Then another lady, don't remember her name, refused to correct the mistake and asked my mom to pay the remaining​ balance for the glasses that were a wrong prescription. There are three people that I want to commend in this review. Firstly, Heidi & Victoria for going above and beyond in making sure I was able to get my prescription sunglasses and contacts. When I walked in the store was empty and I realized it was 5 minutes to closing time. Nevertheless, Heidi & Victoria warmly greeted me. I would expect most people to be flustered, if not annoyed, that someone would walk in at the last minute, but they were SO PATIENT and helpful while I looked through the selection at my pace. Heidi's expertise in optical fashion is key when you're unsure of what style will fit your needs. She was so accommodating and assisted me from beginning to end. Lastly, this is a long time coming, I want to rave about Dr. Randazzo. I have been going to For Eyes since I was a child, now I'm 30. Due to changing insurance throughout the years, I was forced to leave For Eyes in my teens but fortunately I've been able to return. I had an eye infection that impaired my vision for over a year. At the time I was under the care of another optometrist who was puzzled about my condition and simply offered drops that didn't help. I even wound up in the hospital when my vision became especially bad in the one eye and those doctors were also completely at a loss as to what was wrong and again prescribed drops that did nothing. Months later, I was able to return to For Eyes with Dr. Randazzo and he immediately diagnosed the infection, prescribed me with the CORRECT drops and my issue cleared up in a matter of days. This is the only place I go to for my glasses and eye exam even though they are not in my network . I have been coming here for a while and then I decided to try out another place and regretted it right away . I absolutely love the doctors and all the staff . Everyone here is nice and helpful . I have been taken care of by Janay multiple times and I always walk out 100% happy. She takes her time to fine what works for me and it's always time consuming.... my face is small with small bridge and not a lot of option for someone my age . I came into the shop to see Dr. Maitino who is THE nicest and most thorough optometrist to get my contact and glasses prescription updated. After I was helped by the lovely Janae to find the specs that best fit my face and taste. She was uber knowledgeable about what looked good and what would best fit my face. I came to the For Eyes earlier this year for an eye exam and two pair of glasses (one regular, one tinted). The eye exam was very thorough and never too annoying. The overall customer service was very good. I like simple frames, and I was never pushed too hard into looking at the more expensive designer-brand frames. I took a whole week traveling to several eyeglass places before I found For Eyes. I was on the verge of buying my high prescription glasses online when I found frames I liked. I'm very picky. And cheap. What makes me give For Eyes a 5-star review is their customer service. Tina has been there almost a decade and knows a lot. She was very helpful in finding frames that accentuated my features. She took a lot of time and was very patient. She was never pushy or disingenuous. She was supportive in my quest to find affordable glasses, too, and gave me some fantastic advice to save a lot of money. The eyeglasses came in 4 days early. I was ecstatic! I rushed over there and Tina was there - on Mother's Day! She took a lot of time to make sure my nosepads and lenses were properly adjusted for me. I was surprised some of the reviews had four stars. I purchased glasses three years ago. I went back several times for adjustments, and still it was never corrected. I couldn't see, it was difficult reading and walking. I would get head aches often. I just recently purchased a new pair at Pearle Vision the other day, and I can see again, and no more head aches, and my prescription was the same, no changes to it. How refreshing is it to be told NOT to spend money? That was my experience at For Eyes. It has been about a year and a half since I last got my eyes checked and I couldn't bring myself to pay a ton of money for contact lenses and glasses for my horrible prescription. The doctor not only gave me a sample of two different brands to test for a few days before placing my order, but also gave me eye drops and contact solution. What impressed me the most about my exam was that he explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. I was really impressed by the time and care he took to make sure I left satisfied with my visit. He even told me...now brace yourself....that my prescription didn't change enough to warrant new glasses I should keep the ones I had and just get new contacts. The place I used to go would have told me that plastic frames need to be replaced frequently and I should get a new pair. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My dad bought glasses at the same time and they were very patient in tweaking them until they were the perfect fit. I never felt pressured to buy more than I needed or rushed out the door when the store became busy. They even tightened the screws on the glasses I didn't purchase at For Eyes and gave me a new glass case for them! read more

After my first review I was immediately contacted by someone from For Eyes via Yelp and was told they would try to make my situation better which I truly appreciate. About 20 mins from the first messege the store manager Jané, who helped me the first time I had an issue with my glasses and contacted corporate after my first encounter, she's very nice and genuienly wanted to resolve my problem to the best she could. She Offered me to pick up a pair of contacts that same day and told me she would order me a complete new pair of glasses and we would in return send the defective pair back. It took about a week and I got my new glasses yesterday and I am happy to say there are NO specs. Feels good to finally have a good pair of glasses on and I appreciate all the effort they took into correct my situation. read more

Right now I am on a glasses kick. So these people came up in my memory bank of optical companies. I didn't get the eye exam here so I can't comment on that. However, they do have optometrists there for one. I went to this company in 09/2006, and have popped every so often for adjustments. ---- I did get a really inexpensive pair of glasses from them (since they are reading/ far sighted lens). They do have free adjustments( thank goodness cause I am forever dropping and stepping on mine). Nice selections and they do accept flexible spending accounts. I loved my pair of Cynthia Rowley glasses. Its the last bit of funk I have out here in the burbs. read more

Me and my wife did our eye exam here and the Dr was professional and thorough. She discussed services that was covered by our insurance and those that were not before carrying on. Did the contact fitting for me and the contacts fits great. The more important part is that my insurance denied my glasses becuase I did the contact lens fitting (long story) and the insurance drove me crazy on the phone without any clear explanation for the reason for denial. I wonder back to For Eyes to get an explanation of what they billed and the mananger Stacy went above and beyond to help me, again, even though the glasses were done somewhere else. She called the insurance and talked to them for almost 45 min trying to find the reason for the denial and differnt solutions to help.me out correct this. She went as far as retracting their contact lens fitting claim to insurance and charge me directly only $35 even though usually it is $50 so I can get my glasses approved again and told. I still need to work with the insurance to further but Stacy helped me speed things up. Thank you. read more

This review is for the manager ONLY! I have been getting my glasses for 15 years from there. I always dealt with the old manager. I came in to look at frames and I had a prescription but it was a year old. Their prescriptions last for two years. Since the last two times I was still having trouble seeing , I went to another place to get a prescription. She told me I had to get another one because that one lasted one year. I had no problem doing that and guess what, it was the same but the doctor lowered my left eye by -25 and now I have trouble seeing out that eye. She was so badly dressed and took no pride in how she looked and all the other staff was dressed so nice. There was NO ONE! In the store and I called my mom and I said a swear word. After the call she came up to me and said I will have no cuss words in MY STORE! I said I was sorry and then I said well, I don't like dealing with people that wreak of smoke. I saw her get mad in her eyes. From then on she was soooo rude. I picked out a pair of frames and she told me , I HAD TO GET THE MOST EXPENSIVE PACKAGE! I told her that I never have got that before. In 15+ years I have always got the basic plan. She insisted I get the most expensive plan. So I did. I called the next week and talked to the old manager (I had both their names written down but this was two months ago and forgot) The old manager knew who I was and told me she looked at my account and I ALWAYS GOT THE BASIC PACKAGE. I was fuming MAD! I own a dog grooming shop and if I treated a customer like that, I wouldn't have owned the storefront for 20 years in July! I never did this before but I called the company and For Eyes customer service was wonderful. They called the old manager to backup my story and I told them not only was she rude, smelled so bad of smoke, was dressed inappropriately and made me spend money on what I didn't need to buy and I had to add that she called it HER STORE! The company told me she would be on suspension for a month and they would refund my cash from the most expensive package to the basic and I got back $180. So this store was awesome for 15+ years and it is a crying shame they would hire a manager that thought she could cheat people out of their cash!! So look and if you see anyone that is smelling of smoke, dressed like she doesn't care and has MANAGER on her tag, I would recommend to stay far away from her. Don't worry she sticks out from all the other girls. Recently, I visited the For Eyes location in Norridge. It was a Saturday, and I was greeted by a very nice young girl named Wiktoria. She was so kind to ask if I needed any help and I had told her I was interested in getting an exam for my mother. She was so accommodating and showed me over to the doctors technicians to get my mother in as a walk in. The store seemed a bit busy which was completely understandable considering that it was a Saturday afternoon. We were able to get my mother seen by Dr. Randazzo. He was very informative and introduced us to Heidi, the optician who helped us. She was so informative and so helpful. She pulled many frames for my mother since she was not too sure what kind of frame she really wanted. My mother found frames that she absolutely fell in love with and deciding on the lens was such a simple process with Heidi. My husband and daughter had came in as we were paying and Heidi offered to look up our insurance for our family. We were able to have my husband and my daughter seen as walk ins as well, which was so amazing. Wiktoria help my husband and daughter and was so patient with them. She helped my husband find great frames and my daughter was so happy and excited for her frames as well. She was so knowledgeable with explaining the benefits of the recommended lenses that she discussed with them. I left feeling so confident in my family's purchases. And Wiktoria personally walked us to the door and was so sincere and welcoming being as it was our first time visiting. When the glasses came in Wiktoria was great with adjustments and another young blonde girl helped us as well. They were so friendly, making us smile and listening carefully to how we wanted our glasses adjusted. Everyone was so happy with everything, they all left wearing their new pairs. Went here a couple weeks ago for eye exam. The doctor was super nice but when I had to pick out some frames it was very stressful. I felt like I was being forced to pick frames and was rushed. I ended up picking out frames and they told me that it's going to be 5-7 business days. After a week goes by I give them a call and they then told me it will be 7-10 business days. It's been about 4 weeks and I still haven't received them because of a lab issue...?? I won't be coming here or don't recommend it to anyone. read more

I went to For Eyes for an eye exam for the first time yesterday and I was so happy with my experience. Dr. Randazzo was great! He gave me a very thorough exam and explained why I was having some issues with my current lenses, which I received from another practice. Picking out my frames was also a great experience. Jennifer had frames waiting for me when I came out of the exam room to try on and brought me many styles that she thought would suit me. She was just great and I really appreciated her help! Jennifer, combined with Heidi and Victoria, made me feel confident with my selections and made the whole experience quick, painless, and fun!
