My wife and I went to this PEARL VISION store located at 4259 N Harlem Ave, Norridge. We were first seen by Juan, who then put us in touch with Dr. Kart, Alisa for eye examinations, who after examining my wife and I, we returned with Juan to have the bifocals measured for the new lenses. Unfortunately, Juan couldn't do it, and the other saleswoman (I forgot her name) started measuring my wife's bifocals first and then me. After 3 weeks they called us to go pick up our glasses. When we went to try on the glasses, we were surprised to find that they were blurry, and I don't think that was the size of the bifocals. By the way, they never gave me a receipt for what I paid. We left and she said she would call us when they were ready. 1 week later she called us and said they were ready. We went and were surprised to find that the glasses were still blurry and my wife's were worse. We told this woman that they weren't right and that she would refund us the money we paid for the 2 lenses. She refused to give us our money back, so I told her I wanted to speak to the manager in charge of the store and she told me she wasn't there but that she would leave a message for me to come and talk to her, but she never called me. We went to the location, and I spoke to her explaining that I wanted to speak to the manager of the store, and she explained that the boss had hurt her leg in an accident and that she would call me when she returned to work. She never called me.I contacted my insurance company, DAVIS VISION, and explained my problem with this store and made a complaint, but I never got a solution to my problem. They never called me to review the problem with my lenses, much less give me back my money, which by the way I paid about $1,250 for the two lenses. The problem with our lenses is that they have aberrations. I had them checked by a professional lens technician, and by the way I paid $100 for the check. In this letter they explained to me that the owner of Pearl Vision optics was another company with the name of ENCORE OPTICAL INC, and that the owner of this store was none other than Dr. KART, ALISA, who examined our eyes to obtain the bifocal measurements, and she always was there every time we were in the location, and she never said anything? unbelievable. read more

I had my eye exam here and they tried to scam me by saying I will have to pay $110 for my eye exam if I dont buy their glasses. Told them thats wrong, since my insurance covers it. They tried to convince me that it is a new thing- insurance dont cover eye exams unless you buy new glasses- its a bundle and nothing they can do. I cant leave unless I pay $110 our of pocket. When I told them I work for my own insurance company and I will give my manager a call to take a look at this, suddenly their tone changed! Voila, my eye exam is now covered by insurance for $15 even if I dont buy glasses. If anyone else had this experience, pls report at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/. They also wouldnt give me my receipt, gave me a hard time getting my eye prescription after paying for it. Came here to get contact lenses. They never told me the fitting must be done before they can release the prescription but they were ready to sell me contacts. I checked FTC.gov for regulations and guess what... What if my patient asks for a copy of the contact lens prescription before the lens fitting is complete? The Act and the Rule do not require that you provide the contact lens prescription to the patient before the fitting is complete. If you are prepared to sell your patients contact lenses, however, you cannot refuse to give them a copy of their prescription on the grounds that their fitting isn't complete. If you're willing to sell them the lenses, that means their fitting is complete, and you must give them a copy of the prescription. In any case, going somewhere else. These guys don't know what they're doing. read more

I just want to say I was very unhappy with the service at this location. The eye doctor was ok and did her job but the salesperson was not up to par and tried to exploit me in the purchase of glasses. I get $400 from insurance. He said the glasses were over 1k plus. Then he danced around with a bunch of figures that made no sense. Tried to confuse me and I finally saw the light. I told him no to an additional charge of over$300 from me. Then he said he already put it through to insurance. I hadn't paid however and I told him it wasn't going to work for me to pay an additional $300+ Reluctantly the manager said she'd nullify the sale. I left and went elsewhere paying $4.30 in addition to $400 insurance. I guess Pearle likes to try to rip off an unsuspecting Senior. Sorry not this one. read more

I went to Pearle Vision in Norridge Illinois to Purchase glasses because my eye doctor told me I needed different lenses so I brought my Doctors eye exam with me and I picked out a new frame for my glasses talk to the sales lady who was friendly I then asked her what was the total and had to pay everything up front about two weeks later she called me to pick up my glasses which came in then asked her how long are they Guaranteed for and she once you pay for them you can't get a Guarantee even though I just picked them up and didn't were even put them on This so ridiculous because I Paid for them two weeks prior she even said when I bought the glasses that I have been wearing for four years I didn't take out insurance so what I wanted insurance on the pair I just bought I would never buy anything from Peale Vision in Norridge again and will tell everyone that I know not to buy anything from that Store read more

All I can say is that Vivian is fantastic and helped me out with adjusting my frames. She did this even though I did not purchase them at PV. I did not have a positive experience at my old eye dr's after having just started needing prescriptions. I will be using this location long-term now, thanks Vivian! read more

They are five stars or you were not patient. They take utmost care with everything and everyone. stop in when you messed up your glasses and the adjustment feels like new. Some times an order takes a longer period: bc it's specific to you. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

Poor communication, inaccurate eye exam, did not tell me before my cards were charged a total of $360.00 that there are no refunds only exchanges. Glasses took 2-weeks vs the 1-week I was told to wait for the glasses AND when I put them on and told the counter person it was wrong he then proceeded to tell me that this was my RX and that the next step would be bi-focal glasses. When I called them 2-days later to tell them that in fact these were incorrect and I wanted a refund, I was told absolutely not; that there are no refunds, that there is only a store credit AND that I could not use them at a different Pearle Vision; now I was miss diagnosed for vision - and the only other Dr. there would be there on Thursday only. I explained to the lady on the phone that I was never told about the policy and in fact when I picked them up I would have 30-days to return them for refund. Again, before my card was charged this was never explained and this SHOULD HAVE BEEN in writing somewhere. Nothing. I recommend not to go here and find someone else with better practice, service and communication. read more

Very, very over priced! I took my daughter in for an eye exam and new glasses. When I got home I looked up the frames that I purchased at Pearle Vision and absolutely every store had the same frames for half the price. Half the price! I paid $429.00 for the same frames that everyone else sells for $270 and cheaper. Be careful and take your time before you make your purchase here because they do not price match and have no returns. Mine appointment on 3/28 was very good with the doctor but Asian worker with employee number 004 didn't have any motivation to explain the options. The worst customer service I've ever received. They charge an extra $60 for an eye exam if you wear contacts. But, they didn't tell me until after I paid and left! Surprise :( The promotion they say is buy one pair get one pair free, but not really. It's only the frames, There are tons of fees and you still need to pay for the lenses. Not worth it! Dr.Shapiro is awesome- although I've had previous eye exams I'm always impressed by those doctors that take the time to thoroughly explain step by step and even address my concerns! The good news was that we got excellent service from Rose, the optician.My hubby had never needed glasses before and was clueless about frames and styles. She helped him pick a pair that showed off his beautiful green eyes. I got new glasses and contacts and was never pushed into more expensive designer frames,like many places( I got a pair of kids' frames,I have a very narrow face). The Optometrist was very thorough and professional,sorry, I can't remember his name... I would have never chosen this place on my own, it was one of the closer ones through our insurance plan. I had to post this comment so bad. I purchased two pairs of glasses several months ago, and it took almost two weeks to get them. They don't even call you when they are ready. You have to call them. I went over to Costco Optical last week. I ordered exactly everything Pearle Vision had, frame, lens and all. Pearle was about $550.00 with insurance. and over at Costco Optical, it was only $200.00 without my insurance, and the glasses were ready less than a week. And the service was excellent. Pearle Vision is way over priced, even using my insurance. I recommend Costco, if you want to save a whole lot of money, and you get better service. read more

By mistake or not, from what the receptionist told me a owe $55 because I had the eye exam, but don't want to get the frame and lenses right away!!!!!!!!! The don't do refunds.. and they let you know after you have purchased the glasses (printed in the receipt). I ordered progressive lenses and after the third pair they couldn't get it right. I purchased the same kind of lenses in other store with no issues whatsoever. My story is pretty simple and out of all places is norridge, this place is amazing !!! A hidden gem, I used to go to schaumburg Pearle but new owners took over and took away my awesome opticians, long story short I need a place that I feel comfortable going and they actually pay attention and take their time with, I mean when you expect to pay 2 pair glasses for 99 and free eye exam, you get what you paid for, let's be realistic, here I found this awesome brand called Silhoutte and I love them they are so perfect for me, light weight, sleek and profesional for my job and I got them for a great price, the doctor was really helpful and knew was she was doing, I will def bring my friends and family to Doctor Kart and what can I say about the sales person Vivian she knew was doing and she's the one that showed this perfect brand ...... thanks guys ! fyi They are gonna send me a postcard to remind me about my yearly exam, with my busy life this is really helpful.... again 1000 time thanks ps. whoever reads those other reviews i would say see for yourself walk in and you will see profesional staff (wearing blazers) a place neat and clean, the atmosphere is very exciting I feel VIP! read more

I was a customer of this store for a few years... But will never step foot in this place again.. I had my eye exam there in early January, but couldn't find any glasses i liked.. So i did some shopping around, found a pair i LOVED, at a different store, (the cost there was $329),so me being a loyal customer i brought all the info of the frames to pearl.. I was in shock that for the same frames they said they could get them and it woukd be around $489, i declined and shopped around and found the Pearle on lincoln and Belmont and the owner was amazing, not only would he order them but he was only going to charge me $320... So i gave them my prescription from my original visit from the Norridge location.. And after about 2 weeks of wearing and getting used to the glasses i realized the prescription is so wrong. And im having worse problems seeing now. So i called norridge Pearle to tell them and they said they'd be happy to re do my exam for $45 since its been past 30 days... Really??? You guys screwed up my exam and now u want to charge me again for your error? Sounds like its becauae i didn't buy my frames from them.. Called Pearle Vision today in quite a panic as my puppy chewed up my only pair of glasses! Gimo answered and was very professional and was able to find my lens match for me and held the last ones until I could make it there! When I arrived he remembered our call right away. He was busy with another customer but made sure to check on me in between. Gimo was very knowledgeable and I ended up walking out getting not only the glasses I went in for but sunglasses and contacts as well for a very decent price. Dr is great but service is very bed. Prepare to wast your money. I went there to change lenses and spent about $250 on them in August. In less than 2 months they scratched in the middle. I went there expecting they can change it because I bought scratch-free and thought I have some insurance on them. The girl that works there told me they are 'scratch-free', but not 'scratch-proof'. I explained that I am an adult person, and that I take care of them and I expected they could change them especially because it happened in less than 2 months. Anyway, I did not get new lenses. I had an appointment last weekend and I saw Dr. Kart who was fantastic. Super friendly and very efficient. The sales associate that helped me out was great too. My only concern is that I ordered glasses and contacts and two things I didn't like with the service after my appointment: 1. When they called me to tell me my glasses were ready, they didn't leave me a voicemail. I'm not one to pick up a random number I don't know so voicemail is key. The only reason I called back was because a similar number called me the day before my appointment (which I also didn't pick up and who also didn't leave me a voicemail) and I wanted to know why a random number kept calling me. When I told them to leave me a voicemail next time they called, they said ok but didn't do it. They just called me twice and that was that. 2. I didn't think to ask if my contacts were ready at the same time as my glasses when I went to pick them up and they didn't think to tell me so I have to go back a second time for my contacts, which is inconvenient. All in all, I'll return to this pearle vision in the future, but I would like a supervisor to clarify this aspect of customer service with their employees. read more

The worse customer service ever! Came in to spend $400 on a new pair of glasses. They assured me that I would receive a new pair. When I received the pair, they were the ones off the shelve (on display). I specifically asked if they would order a brand new pair because I did not want the ones on display. The representative Angel said, 'well if you go to a retail store and pick out a shirt you would get the one on the rack right?" I said, " this is not a shirt nor do I choose to pay for full-price for a display item that is in complete bad shape. So in order to get rid of me he said that he would order a new pair. When I came in to pick them up, the frames and the clip were the used ones on display. I was so disappointed that he lied and thought he could get away with it. When I confronted the lie, they gave me two options. They said you can get another pair that we have in the store or a $60 in store credit. WOW! So my options where you are screwed and you can't do anything about it. Their modo is sell everything on display no matter what! They are scratched, used, and in bad shape. The manager of the store who happens to be the doctor didn't express concern nor did she step in to offer a better solution! I have NEVER experienced this type of service at an optical. Terrible service. So i had an issue with my glasses and i went in one day and the gentlemen was nice enough to order the screws that were needed without questions asked. Fast forward three weeks later, I didnt get any call regarding the screws so I decided to give a call and sure enough, they have arrived (who knows how long that has been already). So I go in to get the screws put into the glasses but apparently part inside broke so the hollow screws are not able to latch on to anything. So the lady (I don't remember her name but shes the front desk lady with highlights) says "Oh, this screw doesn't work because the part inside broke. You're going to need to buy an entire new pair of glasses." So without me knowing any better at the time, i say okay and walked out. A few minutes later while I'm in the car, I call rayban customer service and tell them the situation and they suggested to tell the provider of where I got the glasses from that there are spare parts that can be ordered and that they should be aware of what parts are needed. So I go back into the store and tell the lady exactly what was told to me on the phone and mentioned "the temple arm isn't what is holding the screw, its the logo so if you can order the logo that would be great." She then said " There's nothing you can do, the logo is one piece with the temple arm (with an annoyed facial expression and tone of voice) but sure let's see." So the eye doctor comes into the main area and checks out the glasses but then her and the front desk lady both go into the back with my glasses. After a few minutes the front desk lady tells me, "The doctor checked in the back to see if you can order the parts but they don't make any more spare parts for the glasses anymore. But lets check when you got these glasses. *sees that its been 2 1/2 years ago* Since its been so long, we can order new glasses but it'll only be 30% off." So then i replied "So what you're telling me is that rayban makes the glasses still but they DO NOT PROVIDE ANY SPARE PARTS FOR THEM?" And she replies with "Well yeah they just make enough parts for a pair of glasses and that's it." It would be nice if they were actually trying to help me out and knew what the issue was instead of making stuff up that they don't make spare parts for the glasses anymore and telling me to just buy new glasses when they are still in great condition. Will never do business with this place ever again. Plus, they are very expensive compared to other eyeglass stores. read more

Very poor service. Ordered glasses with anti-glare coating and when we received the glasses the anti-glare coating was not working. Took the glasses back to the store to have the problem fixed. The young lady with dark hair was saying she was a manager was trying to then upsell us and charge us for an "upgraded" anti-glare coating. Would not fix the issue. Had to do a charge back. Find a different location or other retail establishment. read more
