From out of the past comes this review. I'm not sure on the year but let's say circa 1997 I took…read morethe family to Toronto for long weekend. Headed home on Sunday and had a local Toronto AM talk radio station on and they were doing a show on LASIK. Being myopic I was interested in the technology for possible use on me. They had this doctor on who was so interesting and so knowledgable. The fact is he practically invented modern Ophthalmic surgery. As the show went on I was stunned to find out this man had his office in Hinsdale and hell's bells I lived in Oak Brook. I made the appointments to get it done. Dr. Foulkes was even more engaging in person and we talked shop and also talked about an array of topics all of which he was seriously prepared for discourse. This is one smart man. I told him after the exam that if he could get me to 20/40 I was in. He fixed me with a penetrating gaze and said: "If I can't get you to 20/20 I won't take you." Well he looked at my tests snd said he could 20/20 me. I did the procedure and went home, napped for four hours and KAZAAAM! I could see again. It was a religious experience. Then I found out Dr Foulkes failed to get me to 20/20. I tested at 20/15. An in the park Grand Slam. My vision is still 20/15 and I'm 64 years of age. Of course I wear readers, but nothing prescription. Just Dollar Store magnifiers. Dr. Foulkes is a bespoke health care provider and you will pay a small premium to see an industry legend. Pay the two dollars. Get your Lasik from the best, or go blind like the rest. That's a little hyperbole. Are you seeing like looking through runny egg yolks? You need an appointment with the good Dr. Foulkes! It's all so very basic, go see Dr. Foulkes for your Lasik. I needed a seeing eye dog when I went to see him. I entered his reception area and grabbed the dog by the tail and swung that dog all over the room. Patients were diving for cover. Dr Foulkes intervened and asked what I was doing?I explained I was just taking a look around. I got a million of them. How many doctors do you meet in your lifetime that decades later you talk about in ways reserved for the veneration of saints? Dr. Foulkes is that Doctor, though he is a totally friendly guy who I bonded with in minutes. Oh yes Dr. Foulkes is a saint. He is just too busy to know it. He literally changed my life.

After continuing to find Foulkes Vision online still, I felt I needed to leave a review. 1st of…read moreall Dr. Foulkes is no longer practicing since he became ill, the new Dr. Dhaliwal MD, Jasmeet S. (known as Chicagoland Eye Consultants took over Foulkes Vision Business and I give them 1 star. Their staff was horrible, no respect and lack of empathy for patients and my husband seen the new doctor and was not pleased. There will never be another Richard Foulkes MD, this doctor was so caring and loved by his patients and A+ for his staff they were so respectful and kind. Dr. Foulkes and his staff definitely deserve 5 Stars and more. But do not be fooled Dr. Richard Foulkes Business name is still there but not this amazing person Dr. Richard Foulkes.

My family of 4 followed Dr. Robert here when he started his practice about 12 years ago and we love the eye doctors at Midwest eye. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Optical Department. Very disappointing. I happened to be in the area and arrived right after they opened one morning, not one customer in Optical or in the waiting area. Asked for a 2-3 minute adjustment to my frames that had been purchased there. Overheard front desk asking Lisa in Optical and she said no, I'm busy, she needs to make an appointment. She didn't walk 15 feet to come over to see what I needed or speak to me herself. I had even said I had no problem waiting if she was busy. They just told me to make an appointment and come back another day. No thanks. I'm not going to take time out of my workday and drive 20 minutes each way to come back for something that should take 2 to 3 minutes. This massive lack of customer service is not on brand for the treatment that we receive from Dr. Robert or Bauer and was highly disappointing. Midwest Eye Optical will not be seeing another dime of my hard-earned money. If we didn't love the eye doctors so much I'd be finding a new one for all 4 of my family members. Loyalty & respect go both ways. It's not hard to treat people well. This interaction was not it.

Hi, I'm Caleb Stewart. I originally had Wavelight Optimized LASIK with Dr. Andrew E. Holzman at TLC…read moreRockville's location on August 6th, 2021. Initially, I had a great experience. Every staff member was sweet and I was confident that the surgery would go well. Unfortunately, there were a few red flags that I will list below. 1. The technicians there claimed that my prescription was stable when it wasn't and my vision quickly regressed after a year. Furthermore, I had prior dry eye disease and the technicians lied and stated that it wouldn't be an issue...now I have a severe case years out. 2. I didn't get to meet with my surgeon to discuss risk of complications, if I'm a true candidate or not etc. 3. The staff didn't explain other alternatives such as ICL and didn't give a solid recommendation on what path to take. If I was told to wait until my mid 20s I probably would've had a better outcome and less chance of regression. 4. TLC decided to change the location of the surgery from Tyson's Corner to Rockville last minute also modifying the laser as well which could have had an effect on my overall outcome. Suddenly, when I developed all these complications TLC offered little to no help in contrast to how I was assisted pre-op. I now have day-time starbursts, haloes and severe dry eye which induces irregular astigmatism...causing awful ghosting that can only be possibly fixed through scleral lenses or extensive dry eye treatment. I've had to quit many of my hobbies and it made my quality of life way worse for a while. They only offered "enhancement" surgeries to improve my vision which are not FDA approved and make complications worse for many patients. I'm still not comfortable with my vision at 23, a little over two years out and feel like I got scammed and betrayed by the center. They also didn't give me a refund as well despite my efforts to be polite and courteous about the situation. What makes the situation worse is that I had to go out of my way to see my original surgeon since he opened up his own company just to see what occurred. I was given pupil-shrinking drops and was shrugged off and told that everything was in my head, it was very disheartening. I've had to take so much initiative seeing all kinds of specialists just to get help, it's very draining for a young man to go through and I'm thoroughly disappointed with my experience here. I'll attach some photos below of my prescription before and after and various photos of symptoms that I suffer with to this day. This surgery has ruined my early 20s due to the complications that I face daily. I'm stuck with poor vision that does not hold a candle to how it was before surgery and I am stuck with fluctuating ghosting vision. The center asked that I provide a $200 payment to sign up for a "lifetime plan" to get a second surgery which is not FDA approved. They are a joke. The center only has one line of communication (patient care manager team) and have no ounce of empathy and compassion in their bodies whatsoever. If you develop complications and issues, expect to be on your own and not get any assistance at all from TLC. Whenever I would reach out for genuine help and the ability to obtain a refund or at least some compensation they couldn't do anything. It's hilarious because whenever I mention making a payment towards my surgery they are enthusiastic and respond quickly but other than that, crickets. Please do not get refractive surgery if it's not needed, my life is now ruined thanks to these people. I can't enjoy my hobbies 100% like I used to or start to drive. My vision is like this day in day out 24/7 to give you an idea - https://imgur.com/a/gZnTHj8 https://imgur.com/a/2swivr9 I'll be posting pictures below of how my vision was and my general interactions with both Dr. Holzman, his company and TLC.

But when it came to the procedure, he was super quick and efficient. It's been 1 week since I had my Lasik procedure and I got the contura, I can see way better than I ever could with my glasses or contacts!!! Definately recommend coming here for anybody who is considering it. The cost was significantly less than I was expecting. When they told me, I asked "per eye?" They said, "no total." I guess it all depends on your prescription, everyone's eyes are different.

Went to an optometrist and got my numbers, had her fill out the form, and paid, the office had decided that only my left eye needed to be corrected as I could still achieve 20/25 with my right eye if I strained to see the eye chart. Dr. McGlothan deemed that it would be best to do PRK in my left eye and see how it goes. It has now been about a year post-op from my PRK enhancement and my left eye is blurrier than ever, I feel like the measurements were done incorrectly or that there might've been something wrong with the data that was input into the laser. I now have double vision in my "enhanced" left eye, and more issues than ever with night driving, starburst, and halos. I will be attempting to get another enhancement done in both eyes with a different Surgeon to ensure the best results and to achieve the same 20/20 (or better) that I initially had after my first Lasik procedure.

I brought my 17 month old son in, and after check in the medical assistant nonchalantly informed me the wait would be 60-90 minutes because the doctor "travels between offices." I did a full double take because surely I misheard. But no, I was just distracted by my toddler climbing the eye exam chair that looked like it was out of a 1940s black and white silent horror film. They told me I "should have been informed when I made the appointment," because apparently this is standard practice. In what world? It felt like the old Seinfeld bit: they know how to take the reservation... they just don't know how to hold the reservation. I told them I'd come back in an hour, because trying to entertain a toddler in a waiting room packed like a cattle car and on its fifth episode of Dragon Tales, was not on my to-do list. Their box of broken crayons can only entertain for so long and last I checked I wasn't a magician and can't pull 90 minutes of toddler entertainment out of thin air. To be fair, the medical assistant and doctor were polite, efficient, and clearly doing their best. The front desk staff, however, seemed to be locked in a competition for the Most Unapproachable Human. It was a photo finish. I left with my son's eyes checked and mine rolling as a 2-minute exam turned into a two hour ordeal.
