When I called her about a large bill I received for that appointment, she claims that she would never say what she said, insinuating that I am lying. I was given options to pay a cash rate but every time it came up, the cash rate got more expensive. It started at $300, went up to $350 and now the bill has been sent to collections as $400. I shouldn't have to pay anything as I was told the insurance was straightened out. If it were I would've had a $0 copay. Dr. Phillips, while nice during his appointments, will not get involved in billing issues. Apparently, he would rather just send disputes to collections, wrecking his patients credit. Furthermore, every appointment I have had here, I waited over an hour past the appointment time before I was seen. I highly recommend finding care elsewhere.

Not many places carry Silhouette frames (rimless) anymore, but Naperville Optical has a full selection, which is what brought me there in the first place about 8 years ago. They have been willing to, at no extra charge, customize the size and shape of my lenses. They have not tried to talk me into buying new frames when I have old frames (previously bought there) that I'd rather use. As an extremely picky glasses wearer, I have refused to even consider buying anywhere else since buying my first pair of glasses with them. They are very responsive and treat me like family. He took his time and did a comprehensive exam; unlike what you get at chain locations at the mall. He took the time to explain the exam not only to me, but the children as well. There's a no pressure approach to purchasing glasses, or other services. They have a nice selection of frames to fit every budget. Making the appointment was quick and painless, and we didn't have to wait weeks to get in. This office is about a 25 minute drive for me, and was absolutely worth it. We'll be back for sure.

The intake form made it sound like these were just part of our regular covered visit, but they weren't. Throughout our appointments, there was constant upselling of additional products and services, which made for an uncomfortable experience. Nobody mentioned the extra costs until AFTER all four appointments were completed (3+ hours later). When I questioned the bill, they refused to reduce it or work with us. I asked to review charges with my insurance before paying, but they submitted the bill to insurance that same day anyway. ADVICE: Before your exam, explicitly ask about ALL potential non-covered charges. Cost info is buried deep in their paperwork. Find a more transparent practice that respects informed consent and clearly discloses all fees upfront.

We are so smitten with the ease of making appointments, technology is on point (I'm always down for NOT having my eyes dilated), all staff interactions have been tolerable...so these are all wins in my book! I can tell he's very passionate about eyes and it might make me excited enough to wear my glasses more often than not.
