Please stay clear of this practice. Once you get an evaluation - they literally don't care. Calls don't get returned. I got a prescription checked which did not work - left voicemail - no answer. Even stopped by practice again - was told Dr is busy and will call back. Yet no one returned call. I have updated my insurance company as well. read more

First time customer and went in for annual check up. When I got in the exam room and was using the phoropter my vision kept getting worse instead of better. At the end of the exam I was given a worse prescription I came in with and told the doctor this is now worse. He made some adjustments, but eventually just looked at my contact box for the prescription I was currently using and gave me that.. After when I was trying to redeem my rebate for the contacts I was going back and forth with the assistant who kept giving me the wrong information and made errors on my receipt. The location is in a nice area with very nice store fronts. The office inside is nice! The selection of frames is good. Dr. Prasod is a very nice guy and so is his wife. I had no problem with the eye exam. He did it very professionally and we even shared some stories. Unfortunately, now for the bad part of my experience. There is a lady named Tracey (on her name tag) in the front office that gave me an attitude for some reason. I did not do anything wrong, but while talking to her she was always glaring at me with a mean face and had a sarcastic tone in her voice. Wow! If the owners only saw this, they would have another opinion of her. Another thing she did was talk bad about customers with her co-worker while people were in the store!! You never air out your dirty laundry when customers are around. It makes the business and the staff look very bad. It also VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I hope Dr. Prasod and his wife occasionally review their security tapes sometimes and see what their employees do when they are not around. If you are reading this, perhaps they just need some training and perhaps a good lecture! read more

I actually drive all the way to Naperville from Chicago for my eye exams with Dr. Prasod. He's the nicest optometrist I've ever met, and the office staff is just as pleasant and helpful. It's a small office, but they still have a ton of choices, with everything from contacts to prescription sunglasses. They always have deals (buy one, get one free, etc.), and the prices are great! Also, they do a lot of their own lens cutting right on site, so your turnaround time from eye exam to wearing your new purchase is really quick! I recommend Maxivision to anyone who needs some optical assistance. read more

I went here to get a prescription for contact lenses - the lenses are a little more complex than normal. The doctor was very nice and helpful, but the amount they were charging me was more than twice what I would pay elsewhere. At this point, I decided that I just wanted the prescription and did not want to get the lenses from them. They refused to give me the prescription unless I bought the lenses from them. It took multiple visits and about 3 months before I got the prescription. Seems like they overcharge like crazy for lenses - I'm never going back there again. read more

My first time to this place was on Friday 11/18. I was a little early for my appointment and they still took me early. They staff is very friendly and courteous. Dr. Prasod was very nice and thorough. I have recommended others to this eye clinic already. I would definitely go back for any eye care needs. A nice 5 stars for the Dr.He is very professional and took the time to answer my questions and he practiced infection control by wiping down all of the equipment before it touched my face The receptionist did not wipe down the eye pressure machine. When it was time to pick out my frames she pulled out 4 trays for me to look at,1 min later some customers came in so I guess that I was no longer allowed to have time to pick my frames...she came back to stand over me.I felt rushed. read more

I had never visited an eye doctor in the US in the last 7 years. Got this doctor's reference from one of my friends who has been going here his consultation for more than 10+ years. Dr Prasod is really good and he explained to me in detail everything after the examination. He was also very patient in answering all my questions. After visiting this eye care office, I found that I didn't believe my prescription went up by .75 so I went for a second opinion and they found my prescription to be unchanged. I consulted with my son as he went there last year, only to find out that he was over prescribed as well(by .75). He had headaches for about 6 months with his contacts. After getting the correct prescription, his headaches went away. I don't know that they are qualified to prescribe anything. read more

This is the place to go for your vision needs. Dr . Prasod was our Dr. when we moved into the area and we never had a problem. In 2011 we decided to shop around and spent the next few years shopping around. This week we went back to Maxivision and felt like we were coming home. The Dr. is great, the staff is great, the results are great. Don't waste time shopping around. This is the place to go for your eye care needs. The Dr. is very thorough and patiently explains what he's doing and why. His preliminary exam is the most extensive I've ever had. read more

The worst service...ever. The doctor is great but their staff (Stephanie) is terrible. My daughter and I had an appointment. Instead of calling me and telling me that they were unable to verify my daughter's insurance, they wait until we are there after rushing to pick her up from practice. So we call the insurance and they state that she is in fact in the system and eligible. But because they aren't able to verify via a program they used, and wasting our time, she still couldn't be seen. The visit was on 6/22. I just got off the phone with them asking where are my glasses. She stated well we tried to call you because it stated that you weren't eligible until 7/1. I asked how so because when I was there the system stated I was eligible and my daughter wasn't. I was seen and she wasn't. She switches up on the phone and states that my daughter was eligible and I wasn't. How so, when I was the one seen...Just cover up lies thinking that I am gullible enough to believe them. But I called the insurance around 7/22 to see if a claim was even filed. They stated....NOPE. Yet Stephanie tells me that they had to wait until 7/1. Then switches it off and states that they have alot of people....blah blah...no, if you were doing your job correctly, this would not have happened. Stephanie, please stop telling lies thinking that no one is going to check them out. I would never ever go back here again....NEVER!!! And guess what, still no glasses!!!! read more

I couldn't agree with Mike D (one of the reviewers here) more. Dr. Prasod is a perfectionist. I've been going to Maxivision for 7+ years and have recommended the doctor to a lot of my friends. A few years ago, a friend of mine, a basketball player, lost most of the vision in his left eye. Since he had no depth perception, he had a tough time on the court. At times, while playing, he had to close his eyes, and rely on muscle memory (and instinct) to shoot. Apparently, his vision had been deteriorating over a couple of years, and after consulting with several optometrists and ophthalmologists, and taking repeated tests, he didn't have an answer. I recommended him to go see Dr. Prasod. He was skeptical at first. Long story short, after a thorough eye exam, the doctor diagnosed him with a rare condition (it was the first the doctor had himself seen) and most of all was able to cure it with (refraction) a special pair of glasses (and hard contacts) and no surgery. I remember my friend was more shocked about the diagnosis than he was happy about being able to see again. read more
