Everyone knows to look straight ahead and avoid eye contact when passing kiosks! That's Mall Shopping 101. After complaining to my friend Leo about my ongoing sunglass plight, he suggested Sunglass Hut. "Sunglass Hut??? That 80's store?? With those Oakley Eyeshades??" I immediately felt doubtful, but since I'm frequently in downtown Naper and I could avoid Rt 59, I figured I had nothing to lose. Whoa. This place is legit. Gucci, Versace, Dior, Tom Ford, Valentino, Prada, Armani etc... So many sunglasses. So many styles. And yes, even a few styles that looked good on me. Choices. With a $150-$400 range, this isn't shopping for eyewear at Target, but you'll look magazine ready in these. And those $15 plastic frames aren't doing anything for your face, honey. Plus, they have a great policy that they'll replace your broken sunglasses at 50% off for 12 months after purchase. So go ahead. Do it. You can eat instant ramen for the next month if need be.

As my supply of contact lenses dwindled, I knew I was overdue for an appointment at the optometrist. My wife and I've been coming to this MyEyeDr on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook for a couple years now since it's close by and they have a reasonable copay for exams, as well as prescription renewal with a mail-in rebate. I'm honestly surprised at the low rating here (2.2 out of 5*, ouch!) In fact, 15 of the 24 reviews have been 1 star! People seem to grouse about poor communication and appointment scheduling, as well as not accepting certain insurance, but my experience couldn't have been more pleasant. I scheduled online with Dr. Vairagi Patel and they called me the day before my appointment to confirm. I was a bit late to arrive but still within the grace window. Dr Patel was very friendly and I felt treated as a valued client, and a previous visit with Dr Kasmer went equally smoothly. Come to find out, my prescription didn't change (I still have the same lousy eyesight) and they recommended monthly contacts instead of bi-weekly ones. I even got to stick my face inside a U.F.O! (it was actually a retinal scanner whosamabobber, resembling a larger version of the neuralyzer from Men in Black) The checkout process took a little longer than normal, but afterwards I picked up a free pair of sunglasses (new aviators, sweet!) and was on my merry way. * TL;DR * Why so much shade for the optometrist? They're just trying to help you see stuff better. I've given Lenscrafters and Pearl Vision my business in the past, but they both pale in comparison to MyEyeDr. I can count on professionalism and honest opinions without trying to be sold a pair of Burberry glasses. Despite what others may say, I highly recommend MyEyeDr for your vision needs. Take good care of those eyeballs, folks! Be seeing ya ;)

A quick…read moresearch on my vision insurance's website pointed me in the direction of MyEyeDr. Their online scheduling system was easy to navigate and their appointment availability was very good. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted kindly and didn't have to wait hit more than 10-15 minutes while an exam room opened up. Dr. Saras was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a year's worth of contacts for less than I paid for two boxes of contacts through 1-800-CONTACTS so that was a huge win. I also got a pair of FREE sunglasses before I left! I loved the experience and will definitely keep coming here for my yearly eye exam.

Their Teams know the product , explain it well- and let's not forget - THEY DONATE A PAIR for every pair sold! Stellar. That's a lethal combination to not only set them apart from the competition, but rule over it gracefully and just let all the clients come to them. Itis not the amount that bothers me, its their system for charging a credit card. If you take 70 cents to every customer, that would add up quickly. I will rerate my review after I get my glasses in 2 weeks. Part 2 I received the glasses and they were not even close to my prescription, as the vision was all fuzzy and I returned the glasses. The staff double checked the lens and they matched their prescription. Then they checked my current glasses and they found they were different than theirs, so I asked for a refund for the glasses and the exam. They refunded just the glasses, the prescription is unusable as written as it does not match my needs. I would never come back to Warby Parker, as I feel like I have not received anything for my money.

I was specifically looking for those hip, trendy wayfarer Ray Bans that all the sexy hipsters wear (yes, I think hipsters are sexy). He had gotten a knock off pair in Croatia for 20 Kuna ($5 bucks) and they broke exactly 6 days later on our first day back in the states. This location had a crap ton of Ray Bans to choose from in all different colors and styles and everything you could think of. There was one young girl manning the store and she promptly came over to help me but without being pushy. She told me about their special on polarized lenses and how most of the Ray Bans can be considered unisex, etc. I thought I'd be able to pick out a pair for him on my own but there was just so much to choose from. I had to call the BF and tell him to help me out. When we both returned the bf was super excited and surprised. The same lone girl came over to help and assist with any questions and when we had none, she was good about staying out of the way. I made him try on tons of glasses in a variety of colors before he settled on a pair. I go up to pay and the girl tells us that if anything happens to the glasses in the next year, that we can bring them back and get them fixed or replaced for 1/2 price. She said anything short of losing them and they can still replace- awesome! Cause if I know the BF, they'll be run over, melted, or stepped on in no time. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of is that the pair you take home is the pair from the display. I was thinking they'd have stock in the back but instead they cut the sticker off the floor model and wipe down the fingerprints and facial grease of everyone else who has ever tried them not. I mean, sunglasses don't take up that much space; I'd like for an inventory of new glasses to take home for $130, ya know.

I went back to the store the very next day and told them what happened. The response? The girl asked me if I bought the protection plan, Which I didn't. (I take care of my things so I never need such plans) She then told me they are broken and she cannot take them back, (They are in perfect condition, they were DEFECTED) So why was it okay to sell them to me like that? Absolutely horrid customer service. THEY WILL SELL YOU DEFECTED GLASSES THEN TELL YOU THEY CANT HELP YOU WHEN THEY FALL OFF YOUR FACE! THE SAME DAY! Do not shop here. I honestly feel like I was scammed. I now have brand new 200$ glasses that I cannot wear. Yes it did say "2 hours" to get your email to confirm my order would be ready but I didn't get an email until 2 days later saying the item I bought was out of stock and would be sent to the store for pick up soon. So why allow me to order then? So before I knew about the email served 2 days later, I opted to try to pick up the Sunglasses. It said in Google the store opens at 11am. I waited a good 20 minutes and nada. I ended up calling later that day to find out no one was around to open the store until 1p. So I asked to cancel my order. I'm not 100% sure it was because of the email saying it was coming to the store soon for pick up. What a mess, never again.
