    AZ chicken wrap.

Tuesday afternoon lunch with practically no one in the restaurant. Very peaceful especially outdoor seating but also very slow for food delivery. Not sure why the kitchen took so long to create a wrap. Avocado was delicious on the wrap, nothing else was noteworthy other than the wrap being stale. Chicken was cold, it didn't specify on the menu but was hoping it would be warm. Also ordered the apple cheesecake which was delicious albeit a bit small. $32 for lunch and it was meh.

We ate at Sundance Cafe twice during our stay at the El Conquistador Resort. This is a large restaurant that is conveniently located inside of the resort. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxing, and comfortable. Our server was Mirah both times. She was a good server, very friendly and attentive. As far as food goes, it was hit or miss. Sadly we did not try the buffet as everything looked old and dried out, but the food off their menu wasn't terrible. I did the Chipotle Chorizo Eggs Benedict the first day. It wasn't very good. The dish was very basic and bland for the price, and it didn't taste very fresh. The other guests got Omelets and the Eggs Your Way, which were very good. The second time we went, we all got eggs along with their pancakes, which are excellent. Overall, this is a decent restaurant, with good ambiance and service along with sub-par food. I've definitely had worse breakfast food, but for the price, the food just wasn't very good. By the way, I would not recommend you stay at this resort. Our casita had black mold in the vents, along with stained sheets and dirty carpet.

    Burger and fries

An excellent staff and atmosphere! The burger is delish and the Swiss is recommended, the meat is seasoned well and the bun slightly toasted. The Caesar salad is a healthy portion/entree size. Bailey made some great meal choices and our waiter Jim was pleasant as well Would come again!

    Nuevos Rancheros - wow

As I was staying here I decided to try their breakfast menu and see what items were in this side of the country. Hostess was friendly and quickly offered me a table. I ordered the huevos Rancheros which were above and beyond of what I was expecting. Really good and it was a large portion. I could not eat it all. Service was regular for a place like this. Place was at around 60% capacity and they serve buffet...but I had to wait for the server to bring me the check and my dish was never taken from my table. I left and it was still there... Food quality is good...service regular.

I started with the ube mocktail mule (choice of ube or prickly pear flavor). It was delicious and had a strong ube flavor! The entree I chose was the Herb Seared Salmon. It is not labeled gluten free, but can be made gluten free by swapping out the barley for a different side- I chose the citrus rice. It was all delicious! For dessert, there are actually two gluten free dessert options (unusual!) and sorbet! I chose the Maple Chai Torte and it was incredible! So flavorful and delicious! Lots of gluten free options here, and menu with the GF options labeled! And the views! Pretty strings of lights on the patio, and gorgeous mountain views!

We enjoyed the zero proof Pom Pom Press, and the complimentary jalapeño corn bread was really delicious! We shared the chips and salsa and the short rib tacos (we added on a 4th taco, but because they were so generously filled we could have just shared the 3!) The tacos were great - but the avocado salsa had absolutely no flavor. We added a generous squeeze of lime and a little salt and it was better. We loved the convenience of having a nice restaurant on site and we would definitely eat there again next time we're in town.

A warm greeting up entering, always a plus. It wasn't all that busy for a Saturday afternoon, I'm thinking we missed the lunch rush and the pregame final four rush. Perfect timing. We started with the Pulled pork/mac and cheese balls. Delicious pulled pork mixed with Mac and cheese rolled in cribs and deep fried to a golden brown served on top of cheese sauce and green onion garnish. What a special treat perfect opening appetizer. My son and I both had the three meat plate with pulled pork, brisket and beef sausage. It was served with an outstanding tangy coleslaw, a pretty darn good piece of cornbread and I had the baked beans which were perfectly sweet although very slightly dry. The pulled pork was flavorful, juicy and melted in your mouth. Paired with the tangy bbq sauce it was a treat that was hard to beat. The beef sausage, most people would have said was burnt, but let me tell you, that is how the ends of sausage should be. Great beefy flavor, well seasoned. The beef brisket had ONE good quality, it was juicy, after that is where it went completely down hill. ZERO flavor, none, it was extremely thin, almost 50/50 meat to fat cap ratio. No smoke flavor, no seasoning, nothing. Almost like it was boiled to tenderness. This is where this review went from 5 stars to 4. Brisket is meant to be heavily seasoned and put in the smoker. All in all Fork and Fire still puts out great food although be prepared to pay. Over $100 for lunch for 2 with tip. But with beef what it is today it's getting harder and harder to find good deals. A- Happy eating
