I almost gave this a 4 star review rather than 5. That is, the average of a 3 star on the product and 5 star for SunChaser company. BUT, because this review is about the company SunChaser, who mainly does installations, maintenance, repair, etc. Then I'm going with the 5 star because SunChaser and Brandon is absolutely top-notch. In my case, I got an extra long solar pool panels and evidently the vendor had a problem with that long size or there was an issue during their manufacture. Anyway, they started leaking after only a couple of years. Brandon's crew came out and plugged up the tubes that were leaking and after a while, he started replacing all of those that were leaking. He worked hard to assure the vendor supplied the replacements under warranty. His charge to replace the panels was low (just a service call charge - more than reasonable). He had good communication and follow-up. Overall, you can't go wrong with using SunChaser for your pool solar. Just be cautious about using extra long panels that may put extra stress on the tubing (at their top connections). read more

Brandon is the owner and came out to give his quote. I felt he was honest and quoted me for the system that I needed for my needs and the size of my pool. I would give Sunchaser 10 stars if I could. We hired Sunchaser to replace and install new panels in 2014. Had them out in 2018 for a repair and just recently had them come out and replace a leak/replace 1 panel. Brandon installed my solar when I had my pool built in early 2020. He did a great job and I paid what I feel was a fair price. His crew worked fast, cleaned up after themselves and were very respectful of my space and time. Fast forward 2 years and I needed roof work done which meant the solar had to come down then be reinstalled. I called up Brandon, he fit me into his schedule and again, did a great job. Most recently, we had something go bad with a temp gauge and Brandon responded quickly to come out and get it repaired. He has always been very good at communication. However, I want to make it clear that I spoke with you on the phone, advised you that I left the gate unlocked for you, and watched you enter my backyard through my security cameras. I Also made multiple attempts at getting your bid after your visit and after I watched you enter my back yard with your measuring tape in hand (via the security camera). I called, texted, and emailed and did not get a response. I did not know i was not able to come home until last minute that morning, due to the fact that I was stuck at our fire station due to a very busy hot summer season. If I had a choice, then I would have been home to meet you. Recuse from giving a bid. My review was due to poor communication and call back and I stand by my review. Previous Review: My review is based on my communication with this company. Had them come out to bid my roof solar for my pool. Called multiple times after their visit. No call back and no bid. Either they are too busy, or they don't do pool solar on Spanish tile roofs. A courtesy call , text or email would have been appreciated. Wow. Is there a Zero Star rating? I typically don't have time to review companies but when service + communication is as poor as it was with SunChaser solar, I feel obligated to take a moment so others will be warned, especially if they're hiring SunChaser solar to inspect a property they're considering buying. Perhaps SunChaser solar will improve their performance when they go out to perform a job or receive a complaint for negligent service after the fact, and don't treat others the way they treated us. Here are the details of what happened when we called SunChaser Inc. to come out. 1st - we suspect a leak in our solar system and call SunChaser Inc. to come out to check and potentially repair the leak. This was the same company who came out about 6 months earlier when the previous owners suspected a leak, but SunChaser Inc. reported there was no leak at that time. SunChaser Solar sent two people out when we called, but the one guy spent more time just talking about the system we had without ever actually getting up on the hill to inspect all of the solar pipes, which I thought wasn't a thorough inspection. The other guy walked around the perimeter of the pipes to glance at our system, and commented how steep the hill was. Maybe that's why he didn't want to check the entire system thoroughly? After a brief observation, without a thorough inspection of all the pipes, they tell us we do not have a leak, and give us an invoice that says everything is fine, just like it was fine during their last visit about 6 months earlier when the previous owners hired them to come out b/c they suspected a leak in the solar. We pay them immediately. The one guy tells us the signs to look out for if we continue to suspect a leak: dead plants where the water would be coming out with chemicals from the pool. As he is talking, I point to a spot behind him, and ask, "Like the that area with all the dead plants behind you?" They walk over, but still never do any type of pressure testing and retain their position that we do not have a leak, and they process our credit card payment. Paid in Full immediately. But about 4 hours later, we have another company come out to do an inspection, and they find the leak within 10 minutes. (we can provide the video to show this was a significant leak). At this point, we're not only disappointed that SunChaser Solar didn't find the leak when we called them, and had to pay another company to actually perform a thorough inspection to find the problem in the system, we are further frustrated that this was the 2nd time they came out within the past year where they accepted money for their poor inspection and each time report everything was fine. Important NOTE: If they did their job properly on their first visit, and actually found the leak with the original owners, we would not have further incurred the expense to fix the leak, b/c this entire problem would've been fixed before we moved in. But when we were buying the property, the previous owners showed us that they inspected the Solar 6 months earlier, and showed us how SunChaser Inc. reported everything was fine with the system. However it was not fine. And then it gets worse. I call SunChaser Solar and report what happened. Instead of apologizing for missing the leak, and offering to refund the charge they processed for a service that was not performed properly, Brandon responds by arguing with me, and tells me they missed it because their technicians "are human". WHAT?! Is that acceptable response by an owner? They missed the leak TWICE -- on two separate paid visits, because... "They're Human"??? And that's ok for an owner? When I ask if he's going to refund the charge for the service not performed back on the credit card that was charged, his response was, "Will that make you sleep better at night?" :o wow. #NoWords #AggressiveResponse Then Brandon tells me that if I want, I can submit a request for a refund by email, and to send him my physical address if I want to ask for a check to be mailed. Which is weird because he already has my address, and we paid instantly by credit card. Why not just refund the card that was just charged? But then - it gets even worse. (If that's possible.) After I submit the email as instructed by Brandon to give him the address he already has in order to request a refund, I get a bounce back email response from their email host stating, "Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) " I guess their email provider is also human? Obviously he has no intention of refunding the charge, nor apologizing for missing the leak twice. To which I'm left wondering, "Is it fraud or negligence when a company comes out, does not perform the necessary service visit, yet accepts payment in full immediately?" read more

dishonorable and incompetent - had them install a solar hot water heater last November (2019), it took them 3 tries. In July of 2020 it started to leak. They refused to come out to look at it and told us it was a warranty problem and they don't do warranty work, they told us to contact the manufacturer and handle it ourselves. We got another company out, and the technician said it was one of the worst installations he had ever seen. There were many problems with the installation. However, the technician fixed the leak and the other problems all of which should have been addressed by Greg in November. The second company charged us $359.62 which should have been reimbursed by Sunchaser. We have not heard anything from them, perhaps they are out of business - wouldn't be a surprise. Save yourself grief - don't use this company. read more

I used Sun Chaser to install a pool solar system in March 2020, I have a tile roof and its fragile but they said it was no problem. They installed the system and around the solar mats it looked pretty good after an extra visit to fix the tiles around it. But under the solar mats it was completely wrecked. I ended up with 130 broken tiles and now have estimates to fix it from 2600 to 3200. What really makes me angry is that they didn't say anything about the problem with my roof, I would have been glad to kick in a little extra to get the job done right and not have it leak on the first rain. Last year Greg came out and installed a pump for us that went really well so based on that we used them when we wanted to add solar heating to our pool. Well this time there was a small problem, during the install they might have cracked a pipe on a flush valve. I say might, because with the age of the system you just can't tell if it was their fault or not. BUT, after noticing the leak we called them and Greg showed up the next morning, replaced the piping at their cost, even made a special run to get a part so we'd have the system working over the weekend. I've been in the service field for a long time and the true measure of a company isn't when everything goes perfect, it's how they treat you when there is a problem, and these guys excelled. Friendly and knowledgeable crew guys backed by great management. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Sun chaser Solar came out and looked at my existing pool solar and said it had too many leaks to fix. They gave me a an estimate of $5000 to $6000 to install a new system. They then gave me an invoice of $185 just for looking with the kicker that they would take $50 off if we had them put in a new. System. Two other companies said the panels are good and they would charge $200 to $ 500 to repair my system. I am very disappointed that my outstanding pool technician recommended Sun Chaser. My solar/heater valve developed a leak plus the actuator stopped working. Greg at SunChaser did an excellent repair job. Their work is exceptional plus they go the extra mile. My system is a Pentair and I found they ate the experts in this system. I developed two other unrelated problems that GREG was able to resolve for me with a simple phone call and he didn't even need to come out. My only regret is that I didn't learn about these guys sooner. SunChaser is now my "go to" for anything in my system. They are responsive, extremely knowledgeable, efficient and worth every penny. I shopped around a bit for a company to install a solar pool heater for us. Their quote gave us a lot of panels for the money. He also identified that some of the pipes from our old gas heater had bent from the heat, and offered to replace them and the valve at our filter. I was concerned as well because we have unfinished ceilings in our house, and they had to be careful not to drill through where any screws would be seen. I got the feeling he was confident about it and understood how to adapt to our roof. They scheduled a day and a half for us, but the team was done in one day, which was great. The weather is just starting to warm up enough to start using it, but even in this chilly weather the pool temp has gone up 15 degrees so far, and a few times has been warmer than the outside air, so it's definitely working. We hired Greg to install our pool solar in April 2018 after I read numerous reviews from different companies. He was on time, friendly, professional and made sure we understood his layout design and number of panels needed. The team worked quickly, did a wonderful job and cleaned up everything before they left. He even offered to correct a pipe near the pump that was installed correctly from previous owners at no cost because he said it needed to be done and it was the right thing to do. Update (5 months later) - We had the plaster redone in our pool and sadly noticed the solar didn't seem to be working anymore. I sent Greg a text and surprisingly he called back within 1 minute! He had me send him a picture of the valve and talked me through how to fix it and stayed on the line with me until the issue was fully resolved. What customer service! Most companies would come out and charge you a service fee for a 5 minute fix, but this just proves Greg cares about his customers. Sunchaser Solar has been great to work with! Minimal issues with our system since we bought our house 3 years ago. Always responsive whenever we call for anything. In fact I just spent 30 mins on the phone with Greg having him walk me through checking the system that he was out to inspect yesterday (our pool company fixed an issue and put the solar valve back in backwards which he fixed while he was here). I thought for sure the system wasn't working. That there was no water moving through the solar. As it turns out it was just running so smoothly for the first time without any air that it just LOOKS like it wasn't working lol!
