They did a good job of putting the tint on BUT, the heat that is coming off of the windows is not good. Talked to the Manager and after he gave me a "detailed" explanation that if I wanted it replaced to a higher grade, it would pretty much cost me the same amount I paid originally (because of labor and materials). I am not paying twice. That was a bit disappointing. Why do they even offer the "classic" tint if they know there is so much heat coming off the windows from that. I sweat even more now than I did w/out the tint. He offered for me to come in so he can observe the heat, but what is the point if I have to pay it all over again? Get the feeling he didn't believe me. Be sure you know what you are getting/want as there is no "customer service in making it better" other than paying for it all over again. read more

Went to get some old tint removed and install their F1 Pinnacle. Took a reasonable amount of time and the cost was fair. The staff is approachable and professional though when I had picked up my vehicle there were some scratches into the clearcoat on the trunk lid that look as if something was dragged across it. They were quick to provide a solution for the scratch and to assess the damage. The location I was referred to at no-cost repair was not too far from the tinting location and they did an outstanding job of fixing the scratch. The tint looks great and they offer a lifetime 'no-fault' warranty is a plus for this level of tint. read more

They actually do the PPF work out of another location on Buell Ave. Applying PPF is definitely an art, one which René Perez has mastered. He even recommended a mobile PDR (Paintless dent repair) guy when I got into a little trouble and needed some touch up work after a run in with someone's door that damaged the newly applied film. I had an appointment at 10 am and was told it would be a two hour job. It's after 4 pm and my vehicle has not even been started on and they close at 6pm. They went to go check and said it will take "30 minutes" and that they obviously had been busy today. So the two hour job was only going to take "30 minutes" for a car that was still outside where I left it?! And they were so busy that they were delayed to the point that they couldn't complete a 10am appointment? So logically there would be a backlog of the 11am, noon, 1 pm and so forth appointments?!! So there would be a line behind me if people wanting their vehicles?!! Where was the communication that my car was delayed for 6 plus hours so I wouldn't be waiting in the parking lot? Just hoping and praying this "30 minute" job is quality so I don't have to redo it or worse, come back here! Got my rear window of my Honda tinted here and I couldn't have asked for a much smoother process. I requested a quote via yelp and Dave got back to me quickly. Happy with the quote I received, I scheduled an appointment for Friday at 9am (again, all done on yelp). I dropped off my car, picked out the tint color I wanted and left. Dave mentioned that my car would be ready around 4-5pm and sure enough, I received a phone call at 4pm saying that my car is ready to be picked up. They tinted my 4 door Kia for $209 total and I got the 2nd tier non-ceramic tint. I took my car in around 9AM (since they open at 8AM but the tinters get in at 9AM) to get dropped off, they said they'd call when they were done since I didn't want to sit there and wait and I live close by, got a call at 12 noon and they were done and everything was so pretty and perfect! If you do want to wait, it'll be 2hours to kill but they have computers for you to surf the web with and a convenience store next door for you to get snacks and drinks if needed. They just tinted my Audi A3 that has 7 windows and 2 sunroofs in less than 2 hours and left my plenty of time to get to work without having to be rushed or late. I bought my car from a dealer used with some beautiful Black tints a few months back. Unfortunately the passenger window began to peel and I knew I'd have to get it redone. When I went on Yelp for an estimate I sent out messgaes...On Thanksgiving Day to see who could provide an estimate. Surprisingly Dave replied first with a quick response and all the details I needed fot the tint. Including the honest admissons that he would match it as much as he could legally. We set an appointment and answered all my questions via Yelp on Thanksgiving day. When I arrived at my appointment Dave informed me on how illegal my dark tints were and that he could not match, but showed me the darkest he had, explained to me why, and sat me in his truck to show me what the tint would look like. I was hesitant but went ahead. Not even an hour later I was done! The tint looks marvelous and better than I expected. I'm very happy with his customer service, honesty and personable nature. Scheduling was easy, I didn't have to call. I arrived 30 minutes early and walked into a nice clean spot. There was a few people there so it's a good sign that this place has business. Once I was on deck, Dave got from behind the counter and showed me the different shades for The Pinnacle (with lifetime warranty). He explained everything to me thoroughly. The waiting area has chairs like the airport where you can plug in and charge if needed or for power. I was ready for the wait, I pre-loaded my iPad with Black Panther. I came to Sunbusters after seeing their work on several of my friends cars and talking to him about how the guys run the shop. I called Sunbusters on a Monday and they were able to get me in for a morning appointment on Thursday. Gave them car keys at roughly 8AM and got a call at a little after 10AM saying the car was ready. They tinted the 7 windows of my 2012 Mercedes C Class sedan perfectly and in short order. I chose the F1 Pinnacle series film and could tell an immediate difference in reduction of heat and glare. A friend of mine dropped his 2015 Mustang GT off for the same tint job and it turned out perfect as we expected. Here's the kicker! They call me around 4 PM since we had left the cars there until after work. They called to tell me that after the Mustang had sat in the sun a bit, they had inspected the tint again and saw a problem with the tint on the rear window and was calling to see if they had time to remove the tint and re-tint the rear window before we come to pick the cars up. We showed up around 5:30 and both the cars were ready to go. I can't say enough about the customer experience and quality of work. I copied this over from my old review on the big search engine site, as those tend to get crowded. 2010: Called at 10 on a Saturday morning to schedule service on my Altima sedan on the same day. I got there at 11:40 and my car was in immediately. The waiting area was comfortable, they have free wifi while you wait, and their customer service was great as they take the time to fully explain all of their products. They said no more than 2 hours for the work to be completed, but I had my keys back in an hour. Update (2013): I've since had two more vehicles done here. These guys never fail to impress with awesome customer service from Dave. The shop is always clean. Update (2017): Just had another vehicle done here. Nothing seems to have changed, and that's a good thing. Contacted via Yelp on Sunday for an appointment on Tuesday at 9:30 for a new Subaru Outback, and I was scheduled immediately. My car was taken in right on time and all windows were tinted in one hour. The only time I've waited more than an hour was on a tint removal and re-tint job. read more

How rare is it that you're wowed by a business before you've even stepped foot inside? I'm already super impressed as this is already one of those experiences. (As far as I'm concerned, the transaction is already in progress, so all you little Yelp snitches can move along as this is a legitimate review - thank you.) Driving home around 6:30 this morning from Family Christmas, I got HUNGRY. My stomach was letting me know with zero room for question that it had expanded to something large enough to be an actual extension of my body and I needed food NOW. I don't eat fast food, so as appealing as the glowing orange-and-white "W" on my upcoming exit was, as well as its promise of God's gift to humanity (the honey butter chicken biscuit, of course,) I knew I was going to have to stop at an actual grocery store if I wanted anything remotely healthy. What does this have to do with Dave and Sunbusters? WELL! In my hanger, I looked around and realized the amount of valuables I had in my car - from two MacBook Pros & accessories, two iPhone Xs Maxes, AirPods Pro, several pieces of diamond jewelry, my puppy, several pair of Louboutins and a few thousand's worth in dresses just for good measure - and everything was plainly visible as I have ZERO tint on my vehicle whatsoever. My car may as well have a neon sign begging to be broken into. It was in that moment that I decided it's *time.* I need to be an adult and actually get my windows tinted. First stop: Yelp. Skip the paid placement ads because I worked in small business online reputation management for too long to mess with any of that. Sunbusters immediately caught my attention, though, because of the sheer volume of 5-star reviews. These guys probably know what they're doing, right? I shot them a message, knowing it was still before dawn and therefore not expecting much of, if any, response for quite some time. It's the day after Christmas - everybody deserves some rest. I can't have put my phone down for an entire minute before Dave had a QUALITY response back to my inbox. I saw other reviewers mention Dave's timelines and they certainly weren't kidding. Second, huge thanks to Dave for detailing all my options out to me. All stereotypes apply when it comes to women and vehicles (it's okay, I can laugh at myself and I know my proficiencies simply lie in other arenas) so I am certainly appreciative when someone is willing to make the extra effort to be strictly consultative and give me a rundown of the information I need to my personal best decision as opposed to the typical heavily-swayed pitch or over-sell. I think it's fair to say it's absolutely clear why their reputation holds such prestige. With that, I think it's fair to say I'm in the very beginning of my exploratory stage with all this. I know I definitely want to stay legal, but go as dark as possible all around (again, without looking like a drug dealer.) Being able to use my Bluetooth and remote start are definitely priorities for me. Climate control is a nice value-add, but for me, I'm more interested in the security factor as long as my remote start stays in tact. I gave Dave all this info and he politely (and patiently) replied, once again with great efficacy. I know this has been incredibly long-winded, but I believe great customer service lends itself to great quality of work. Sunbusters was recommended to me by multiple people who had great experiences with window tint services here. I checked reviews before contacting them and the consensus is that they're the best in the Austin area. The entire experience was easy and convenient. I first requested price quotes for tint on my vehicle and received a comprehensive list of options along with thorough explanation of benefits, as well as prices. This allowed me to make a clear, informed decision. I finally picked a day and time to bring my car in, and they got started right away since there were no other vehicles. It took a couple hours and then I was on my way! I did accidentally roll down my drivers side window when I picked up curbside only hours after the tint was completed, so I ended up with an air bubble at the bottom of the window. (they forgot to add the tape to my controls, so if you don't have the tape on yours when your service is complete, don't be like me! Let them know because you WILL need the reminder!!) They were so nice and told me to bring my car in any time so they could try to work the bubble out or redo the window. I came by and somebody worked on it for maybe two minutes and it was fixed! Everybody I interacted with has been so helpful and nice, which is insanely refreshing :) They do require masks when you visit, and I noticed they had plenty of disposable masks for anybody who doesn't have one.
