Heat deterrence was my biggest factor and I went with their S9 ceramic product. They have a heat lamp in store so you can tell the difference. I was in and out in 50 minutes. I did my homework and looked at other shops in the area, and I felt most comfortable with Auto Tinting Austin. Aric also was the first to reach out to me, and I appreciate the professionalism and follow through. He is honest and very genuine. I also felt this shop had he most value in the area (after I compared prices). He does ask for a $25 deposit, but this is added to your total at the end. Brought a brand new Tesla in to get the windows tinted because of the previous reviews from Tesla owners. Was assured when I dropped it off that any bubbles present would disappear within 3 weeks. 4 weeks later and all of the windows have bubbles with one window having a particularly bad cluster of bubbles. They offered to redo the one window with the cluster but said that the rest fall under their "1%" policy. Honestly not the quality of work or service that I was expecting given that it's pretty obvious the windows were not prepped correctly. read more

The tint job they did on my window seems to be fine. What I'm really bummed about is I only needed one window tinted (truck was broken into) and they quoted me $30-$50. When they handed me my keys and said "it's going to be $60" I was a little shocked. Then they asked for tip on top. I would just be aware to get your quote in writing. I realize now the 5 stars is because they give a discount if you leave a good review. one word... unnerving. When I first arrived it seemed a little shady, maybe a little ghetto... that was a mistake i tell you. When I first entered the atmosphere was one that would almost leave your eyes with a stinche... i mistakenly ignored my gut feeling and pushed further into the dank atmosphere. I then reached the counter, and looked up only for my eyes to meet a large zit... right in the middle of the employees eyes. not to mention how the vibe of the place seemed as if it felt dead inside. But that zit... unnerving I tell you. I pushed past my inner obsession with what a beastly mount was in between his eyes. i did my best to cordial and bravely pushed forward with the question. I asked if he could redo what the factory tint was on ny now peeling windows. he replied with a quote on price that not only made me feel ill metaphorically but also physically. I decided to leave because at that point between the unnerving atmosphere and the prices that would make Mr Krabbs commit the unthinkable... well nothing was worth staying in that Shady hole... I drove home and after hours of leaving that place and a very long shower, I felt almost back to normal. I brought my girlfriends Subaru Crosstrek here for window tint a few years ago (early 2019). After roughly 3 years the tint is holding as new and is super helpful with the heat in Texas. Of course due to the great experience I have recently brought my recent Subaru WRX STI. These folks are the best! I've interacted with a lot of tint shops both in San Antonio and Austin and Auto Tinting has delivered the best favorite experience by far. Aric - the owner - personally talks through every piece of the process and made it a point to call me right before our appointment to give me a heads-up that he had to step out for a minute (Didn't delay the work at all). The work was well done, and I appreciate them using a plotter for cuts as opposed to most places where they hand-cut - thereby leaving room for error (not saying hand-cutting is all bad, but I've seen my share of really bad work done by hand). Only heads-up is that appointments require a $20 deposit at time of booking. It's not an unreasonable ask, but certainly one I haven't ran into anywhere else. I might've hesitated if it wasn't for the strong reviews Aric has previously received and I hope this review provides similar comfort to others. read more

My husband did a Google search and we had called around to several different locations trying to get our window tinting done same day. All the other locations said no have to make an appointment except for Auto Tinting Austin. They told us to come on in and they'd take care of it no appointment needed. We arrived within :30 mins and was greeted by the receptionist. We told her we'd just call and she took us off to this location to show us all the different tints they had to offer. She even showed us how the tint would block out the sun with UV lights. We chose the ceramic tint for our new vehicle. The tint process took about two hours total and we left a happy camper. The best part I loved was that they taped our door buttons that let the windows down with a big bright orange sticker that read "do not let down". Great idea for a reminder. Wow Wow Wow !!! I came across this place via Yelp. I was needing just the front windows stripped and re-tinted on Mrs. Texas' van to make them legal here in Texas. I requested a quote via Yelp late yesterday afternoon and within a few minutes Aric, the owner, messaged me and requested my phone number. First of all, God bless Melissa for her patience with my approximately 18,000,000 questions prior to my booking the actual appointment. Being a complete novice - to put it lightly - in the auto world, I'm absolutely certain every question could have warranted a response from lmgtfy.com, but she was patient and polite via extensive threads between Yelp, text and phone. Thanks to her consultative approach, I felt comfortable and confident with my decisions; both in selecting Auto Tinting Austin for the job as well as the type and degree of film that would be my best fit. Next up: I so appreciate their waiting area! My expectations weren't high in this area - their job is to do great work on vehicles, not necessarily hospitality, you know? But their waiting room is spacious, clean and accommodates most everything you could hope for (short of a champagne bar, of course .) They have WiFi, magazines for every demographic, TV, a Keurig with Donut Shop K-cups (while I'm not a coffee drinker myself, basically everyone I know says Donut Shop is the best, so extra gold star there,) cold filtered water and candy available while you wait. I feel like vending machines are customary for waiting rooms and that's something that drives me crazy, but all the amenities here are free for all customers - no quarters needed! Awesome My work hours basically are the same as the hours for the shop, and while arranging a time for me to come I in, Melissa even offered to ask the techs to stay late to accommodate me... SO incredibly kind! I didn't take her up on the offer, especially since I'd already been barraging her with questions, but THAT level of customer service is absolutely worth noting. I assumed I'd be waiting for at least a couple hours while they worked their magic so I cozied myself right on in. Much to my surprise, my entire time spent at the shop was less than 45 minutes! That includes all the time I spent consulting with Melissa, so I'm guessing it'd have been closer to 30 minutes if I'd been a normal customer. Pretty incredible. The job turned out beautifully. I didn't feel like I needed the ultra-top-premium-grade film because 1) my vehicle isn't a Maybach, 2) it's already five years old and 3) my reason for tint had more to do with security than heat resistance so I went with the mid-level film. The lowest level only came with a three-year warranty but the other two have lifetime guarantee so those were the primary factors in my decision. Even though history would indicate I'll only go another few months without getting in another accident/ totaling my car (it's okay, I can laugh at myself here,) the comfort of a lifetime guarantee is nice. Overall, I'm very happy with their work. Today's kind of a gross day as far as weather is concerned and my car isn't clean, so I don't want to post a ton of gross photos that don't do the job justice, but I'll at least post the one. I had the worst tinting experience ever. I own a Tesla Model 3 and went in to get all windows tinted with the exception of the front window. I paid over $800 and received substandard tint coverage on the top pano window although the service was quick. But what took the cake is that they only covered about 70% of the rear window. I don't understand any universe where not covering the window is acceptable and according to them asked for. I complained and for there part was promptly refunded my money with the loss of time and the excitement of getting my Tesla finally tinted. This place is amazing. Job is very professional only few things. The lady in the front name heather, she can be very mean . She ask me for $20 deposit witch i say no problem. I have 2 cars so was 40 dollars, i give her all my card information, i check my bank account later that day and they're charge $44 dollars. I guess 4 dollars for paying with a debit card . I spent some time talking to the very nice office manager and it's obvious these guys take pride in their work. I'm guessing they were just really busy which lead to some quality control issues. As soon as my car was finished, I was asked to pay for it. It felt rushed. I would have preferred if someone would have walked the car with me first to make sure I was happy with the job and answered my questions and concerns. In the past when I've gotten windows tinted, they clean the inside and outside of the windows. I'm guessing this is because it's hard to tell which side potential dirt or issues might be on. When I got to the car, the outside windows were very dirty so it was hard to tell if there were any problems with the tint. There was also drip marks and hand prints on panels and seats of my brand new car. When I got home, I cleaned the outside windows, panels and seats. I did notice a few very small scratches on the tint after cleaning. Now I need to decide if it's worth the time and trouble to go back and have them attempt to fix these minor issues. Unfortunately, the only way to communicate with them is phone calls. For issues such as this, I really feel email or text would help resolve things easier. read more

I am so thrilled with the tint job I got done on my car. I got the ceramic tint all the way around - including the clear tint on the front. It has taken so much of the Texas heat and sent it away from the interior of my car. Thank goodness. We did have some spots on the back window that we thought we caused (we got the windshield done at a different time), but turned out to be issues with the film itself and when we brought it the car for the front windshield, they fixed it, it was still under warranty. Top-notch tinting -- after two years, it still looks as good as the day they did it! (Yes, I am a bit late leaving this review.) Perfectly smooth and uniform application, no peeling or bubbling after all this time under the Texas sun. They were also able to get my toll tag and dash cam reattached so you couldn't even tell the difference. I usually don't write a lot of reviews, but these guys at Auto Tinting Austin really provided a level of service that you don't find anywhere else. I had my VW GTI tinted about a month ago, their highest grade product that reduces about 90% heat. Texas summers can be unbearable at times and as a on location photographer, I'm on the road a lot! These guys recommended me the right products for a great price. After leaving the shop, I noticed a huge difference with the temperature in the car compared to before the tint was installed. About a week later, I noticed bubbles started to form at my rear window. Being the perfectionist that I am, it bothered me greatly. A month passed by and I finally was able to contact the shop and notified them of the issues I have with the rear windshield. The guys there took care of me like if it was my first visit, made an appointment, drop off my car, they striped off the previous tint and applied a whole new tint and it was to perfection. It didn't cost any money out of my pocket and I was out in about 30 mins. The level of their service was exceptional, as their model is clearly quality over quantity.
