My two sisters and I were in desperate need of pedicures and we came here after being turned away by another place because it was so close to closing time (totally our fault). We walked in 30 minutes before close (expecting to be turned away again) and the ladies here took us in and ended up staying late to help us out! They were so nice and gave us cold water bottles and everything! They took their time and made sure we were comfortable. Definitely going to be coming back here again! UPDATE: One week later and I've changed my mind a little bit. One of my sisters and I have come to realize that they cut our toenails a little too short and it has resulted in us getting ingrown toenails. It is not our first time with ingrown toenails so we know how to take care of them but it is definitely annoying having to deal with it after paying good money to have toes look nice. I'm not saying I won't ever come back here, but if I do I will definitely be telling them to leave my toenails a little longer. read more

When this salon opened, they were great. Over the past few years, ownership/management changes have really led to a decline. The pedicures I have had there haven't been very good for a while. I recently found an older gift certificate I had, so I took it in and the lady (who had not one other customer, by the way, laughed when I asked if I could still use it. She said that they expire a year after the purchase date (which is not noted anywhere on the gift certificate.) Any business should always keep a consistent accounting policy. Gift certificates outstanding should be noted in the event of a sale and still honored if not disclosed with an expiration as this one was not. I was there to have several services and they lost an additional $60 above the pedicure value of the gift certificate that they should have honored. I am not satisfied with the result of the work and the technician kept pushing me to get more services... I was about to tell her to stop and leave... She acted in the need of money. She even criticized my eyebrows saying I need the waxing, plus many other things. I hate that attitude of begging. I will not come back at all. She said: " pay before we do your nails and don't forget about the tip" they even put a sign that you should give the tip in cash because the charge of the card. I'm not one to get my nails done, ever. It's a shame because I've always wanted to. With my wedding coming up, I figured I'd get some nice fake gels so my hands would look pretty for the special day. I went to a completely different nail place with a friend of mine to get them done originally. Much to my horror, they made my nails WAY too long and didn't file the edges. My poor fingers looked like daggers. After two days of getting them caught on everything from my clothes to nearly ripping them off as I was sliding my back door open, I decided to head to Sun Valley to see if they could fix them. I asked how much it would be to file them down & she said it was no problem, she'd fix them for no charge. It was REALLY nice of her not to charge me, I wasn't expecting that. Not only did she file them down but she thinned them out. She was really good. As we got to talking she said she'd been doing nails for 15 years and you could tell by how precise she was. As we were getting done, she refused to take a tip and just said to come back to her when they need to be filled. I've been quiet about this place for far too long!! I have been coming here for the past 4 years and won't go anywhere else!! Lillian takes such good care of me. Right before I started coming here I had an accident that damaged my thumb permanently. I don't have a thumb nail to work with but that didn't stop Lillian. She knew just what to do to make it look beautiful again. Seriously no one can tell I have a deformed thumb. She is an artist!!! They have the best pedi chairs around and plenty for all of your friends to come together. Although they do accept walk-in appts, I recommend calling ahead to make sure they can accommodate your schedule. Oh, and ask about happy hour, not sure when it is but they do give a discount during that time. read more

I was a regular here years ago when this place was under different management. It's really gone downhill, unfortunately. I went for a pedicure a few weeks ago, and they didn't have the air conditioner on. It was sweltering. Very stagnant. The technician was pleasant and did a good job but they get a little pushy about telling you that you need to come see them every couple of weeks, etc. Shortly after I went home my dog stepped on my toe and smudged the polish...and I got back in the car and returned to have them fix it and they had closed a half hour earlier than the posted time. The employees were very kind and sweet so I wish I could give a better review. I got a gel manicure and while it appeared to be a good manicure for a couple days the polish on my thump because loose at the top. Within 5 days of the manicure the polish on 2 of my nails just fell right off! I peeled off the rest of them after that, they came off easy. If you've ever had a good gel manicure you would know that gel nail polish should never just easily peel off. My first trip in I really loved this place, and every time since then that I've been in I've liked it just a little less. This last trip the person who did my nails was not great. He didn't push back my cuticles before clipping them, he didn't fully paint my nails (fingers or toes) I had to ask him to cover the entire nail but then the top coat didn't cover all of the polish, and he didn't clean under my nails. Went here for a mani and pedi. They not only did a great job with my help pedi, but also did awesome on my sns nails. I took off my acrylics before I went and a few on my nails were weird shaped due to me snagging them before i could get them done again. I don't know how this place has such high reviews...? From the moment that I called to check for availability I was rushed on the phone call and told "yeah yeah yeah" and hung up on. I walked in with an open mind and nobody greeted me nor gave me a color selection when I requested a gel pedicure. After standing there, with zero customers in the shop, they finally told me to take a seat after five minutes. Then I asked for the gel colors and they were rudely handed to me. NOTE: if you get the man to do your pedi, RUN while you can!! He was so rough on me he stabbed my toe with the cuticle cutter and I started bleeding. It hurt so bad! He then trimmed my nails so short that they were swollen and flaming red with irritation that night and the following 5 days. It was so painful I honestly should have ran out! Thank God one of the women painted my nails because the guy sucked! For this reason I gave some stars. She did an ok job but left edges of my nails without polish which I didn't realize till I analyzed them at home that night. In summary, this place is BELOW AVERAGE, the guy technician is a NIGHTMARE and this place is a RIP OFF! $50 gel pedi!? At the very least they can offer you a beverage like a bottle of water while you're getting your service done. They are lucky I was desperate and was leaving town the next morning or I would've ran out. Do yourself a favor, DONT GET A PEDICURE HERE! Also don't let the guy check you out. Over charged I got charge $38 for a basic manicure and just a regular pedicure and that supposed to be with the 15% off happy hour discount. Ripped off it should've cost me $29 shame on them. And she didn't even push back my cuticles on my manicure. They are nice people as they rip you off. read more

Not sure what I think about this place. I heard from a coworker about SNS nails not realizing it's actually the white and pink powder. It is also safer for your natural nail then gel mani. So I told the lady that's what I wanted. I really don't think she knew what she was doing because she kept forgetting which step she was on for each hand. I know what forgot an entire step on my right hand. I didn't say anything, I just wanted to get out of there. The guy owner was there doing a pedi and his butt crack was showing -so disgusting. I don't think they use sanitized tools either. All of the baskets were on the ground and my lady needed something so she went to pick it up and it was used on someone right before that. I think I may call the health inspector about it. I don't think I'll be going back. My nails don't look horrible but I'm not impressed with them. read more

Not a good nail salon at all, didn't mind the 20 minute wait. But took over an hour to do a gel manicure. They added water or something to the nail polish I picked and it was clear, so I had to choose another color. Still not what I wanted. Never have I got a gel manicure where the polish is layered on my skin and all over the cuticle. And her not taking off all the previous polish, when added gel she takes the clippers and digs in my nail to take off and try a smooth out. My friend also got a gel french, asked for square and got 2/10 nails squared. Mother got a pedicure, paid for the highest package and didn't receive the services that was on the menu, they replied with 'oh it changed'. We replied with 'maybe you should update your menu because I didn't get what I paid for.' Spend well over $100 and disappointed in the work we received. read more

Great little nail place. I was looking for a salon that was between our house and a friend's house; this one was perfect. I made a pedicure appointment for both of us. They were very prompt and ready for us when we arrived (a big plus!). I'm a bit of a germaphobe but this place was very clean. The employees were friendly and professional. We both had nail art designs done and they turned out great. My pedicure lasted for weeks. The prices were very reasonable and I have seen coupons available. The lady who did my nails did not take her time at all. She seemed like she just wanted to get it done. She nicked my skin several time and she made me bleed on multiple fingers, I was cringing in pain the whole time. This was my spot! I loved the previous owner and the new owners grew on me. They do great nails and it's a very clean, tidy place and I have always had a good experience. However, a couple of weeks ago, was my last visit. My daughter and I were in to get pedi's before our vacation, and my daughter had really wanted a colored french tip. She was so excited! They were very short staffed that day, and it was busy! We sat and they got started. The lady that worked on my toes was rough and it was uncomfortable. Even when I squirmed in my seat, she didnt care to notice. The owner worked on my daughter. Her toe had bled really bad and the owner even mentioned what she had done. Then we looked down and noticed that she was getting a full color instead of the french tip. I mentioned it and instead of saying, "let me correct this", she laughed and said the color looked good. When we went to pay, thinking she was going to give us a discount for her mistake and hurting my daughter, we paid the full cost. I would have thought, with us being loyal customers, she would have done something. We walked out very disappointed. read more

I am in a Serious Depression. I am moving out of state due to work, and am Sooooo sad to be leaving Sun Valley Nails. I have been going here for almost 8 yrs. and Lilly and CeCe have been like family to me and my daughter. They always fit us in, go out of there way to do an amaing job, and I get comments everywhere I go about how amazing my nails look. I am sick about having to start all over in another state and look for a nail salon even close to this good.
