I have been staying here for years. It is as nice as any campground in Moab, and it is really close to town. I'm disappointed in the negative reviews, this is a "campground", not a five star resort. It has great shade and nice rustic campsites with friendly staff, a nice store, and hot showers. The staff is very friendly, and knowledgeable about things to do around Moab. We love the rustic feel of this place with all the conveniences of being in town. WiFi works fine, not sure about cable or satellite, we don't use that when camping. The only negative is the rates. The website says rates are higher during prime times, which is every weekend and all summer. Just plan on spending $10 a night more than the posted rates. I just booked a week in march, and it looks like the rates on the website are fixed to reflect prime rates. If you are expecting five star amenities in the Utah desert, this might not be the spot for you. If you are looking for a great camping experience with some modern amenities and access to town and national parks, this is your spot. P.S. we love the cats in the office. They add a bit of character to the whole experience. read more

This was our 4th year here and we will NEVER return... it started out as a great campground but has now gone to the dumps. The "hot tubs" don't work, no jets, only one of the two was even heated. The washers and dryers are crap, only a few of them even work but aren't labeled as "out of order". The shower stalls are disgusting and to top it all off the kids playground is used as a dog area. As you can imagine, it's not pleasant to find your kid covered in dog poo after playing. I'm sad to leave a great location but it is not the campground it used to be, not to mention the additional charges they add on last minute, AFTER you've already booked online MONTHS in advance. read more

We have been camping here every year since 2005, it has always been amazing. It has by far the best shade of any of the parks in town. Really easy to move around inside the park with a 38' class-A towing a car trailer. We rock crawl, sometimes we need to repair rigs when we get back to camp. They get it !!! we've never had an issue with an early check in or out. The staff keeps the park clean and maintained. Nothing is better after a long day on the trail than taking a dip in the pool. Then a gentle soak in one of the hot tubs. So, if you're visiting September 2nd - 13, 2016 come say high we'll be the group from Las Vegas with TotalKarnage on our rigs. read more

We checked in here after camping in many national park campgrounds. They were running a $20 tent special. We were paying $15 - $20 a night to stay in the rustic national park camps with no water, flushing toilets, or showers. This was a deal for us because we also had access to free wifi, a pool, hot tubs, and a laundry facility. Not to mention you are close to the shops and restaurants in Moab and Arches National Park. We decided to stay a second night after the first night. We got to pick out our own spot and we even had a little tent shelter to provide some much needed shade in the morning. There was also a large tree next to just about every tent spot to provide some shade. We had a grill and a small picnic table. The showers and bathrooms were good and clean. There was also free coffee in the morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will say that the tent spots were pretty close together and it was very easy to feel like you were disturbing your neighbors no matter how quiet you are trying to be. At this campground you cannot have an open fire, but only a charcoal fire in the provided grill so bring your charcoal. Other reviews mentioned it is dusty, but most of the campsites I have stayed at while traveling have been dry and dusty so this was nothing surprising. We paid nearly triple to stay at similar campgrounds. I am so glad we found this place. read more

O.K. I get it. It's camping, but this isn't REAL camping. That would have been free. I paid money to have a reserved spot with "modern bathrooms". Instead this was paying $33 a night for nasty dirty campsites- dog poop included, disgusting bathrooms with NO hot water- not a drop, and really gross toilets that had obviously not been cleaned for many days. I could have saved myself the money, camped on the rock and paid a real campground $5 to use the shower. I will never....NEVER...go back to this dump. read more

This place was crowded, dirty, and not well kept. It was just a place to lay my head after mountain biking, but for the money they could do some up keep. The trash cans were always full and the bathrooms disgusting. Parking was an obstacle course. Also there was an event adjacent and someone thought they were T-pain until the wee hours. read more

This place is horrible! The cabins and surrounding trees are infested with mice, bugs and roaches of some type! Stay away or risk being eaten by bugs and mice! In summary: I stayed here in Sept 2015. A mouse was in the cabin running around and got into my food a few times. When I got up and was looking for him, to my horror I noticed my bed was lightly covered i bed bugs of some type. They were little red bugs on my new sheets I brought in freshly washed from home...that I just put down (meaning there are so many they started covering my sheets instantly). They were covering the while plastic sheet they had down also. I looked around and saw several other bugs which looked like cockroaches of some type crawling all over. After I killed a few I started freaking and started feeling them on my legs and head/hair and arms. A few of them go into my food bags by this time. I then started pulling all my stuff out of the cabin and noticed they were literally covering the outside of the cabin and the wood patio and the ground outside the patio....the big and little red ones too. I called the mgt a few times but got no answer. I then called the police to inform them of this issue and that I could get a hold of the office (calls went to VM). The police dispatch lady said to get out of there and they would send someone. They never did and simply called the manager (Katie?). From what I found out later, she told them they were not bedbugs and were some other type of bugs (Box elders?) , which made them harmless then she apparently got the police to go away. I called a second time and go no action. At that time a maintenance guy was driving by and I told him about the issue...and showed him. He agreed it was very bad and he talked to the manager lady on the side...he was saying it was really bad and as he noticed they were all over and he'd have to "do something" and said there was a nest nearby and he knew about it and it they were all over...and as we were outside talking I noticed more all covering the trees 10 ft from the entrance of the cabin doors ...it was sick. When the manager came 20 min later she was not concerned about the bugs and was fuming at me for calling the police! She took me in a golf cart so I could show her the bugs. She literally did not care about he bugs, she tried to claim it was not a problem, and that they were no cockroaches but Box elders and were harmless. I argued saying they were biting little bugs on the bed and big ones mixed in...they were all over me and my stuff I showed her a few I killed. She was only concerned that I took a few hours to call her about it and that shed have to refund my money as I requested. When I was in the office she got belligerent with me and her Maintenance guy started swearing and threatening me with violence if I did not leave the area. It was truly unbelievable. She did not say she was sorry or that there was a problem. She did refund me for 1 nights stay via CCD (I assume). My stuff is now infested with those bugs and I am still feeling them all over and as I was driving away I killed a few on my leg and arms. This place needs to be condemned as it is infested with mice, bugs and bedbugs. I have several pictures of these big and little red bugs if you want them. read more

If you arrive late and leave early you probably won't mind that everything needs work. Wifi is almost non existent unless you sit by office. Showers have mold and are in worse condition than any we have stayed at. Toilet paper rolls have lock on end to prevent theft! Who does that?sites are so close together we could hear our neighbor snoring. Unless you are desperate avoid! Paid $50 for full hookup! read more

Everything here is average. The bathrooms were decent but could be better cleaned. There was no handsoap which is totally unsanitary. The cabins were nice but could definitely use a deep cleaning and some updates. Other than that our stay here was fine, saved us from sleeping in the pouring rain for the night! read more

6/30/2019 This review is for the town of Moab as well as the campground. There is a mosquito infestation there that makes it impossible to enjoy anything out of doors. They attacked us and our dogs by the hundreds the minute we stepped outside of our RV both in the campground and at downtown public parks. Millions of mosquitoes are breeding in the town slough/bog/marsh. We were told the problem is because the local bat population that used to take care of the insects has moved out due to encroachment of their habitat. The town council is reluctant to spray to eradicate the problem so I don't know how they intend to deal with it in the future. We cut our trip short and left early to escape the feeling of imprisonment in our vehicle. Perhaps when the town looses enough revenue to admit they have a problem, they will do something about it. The campground was OK but nothing special. Much of what others have said is accurate. Small spaces, pool out of order, overall a bit run down. If you are traveling during mosquito season I would suggest opting for a hotel room instead of camping. read more

ok, let's be real. price was good (better than 4 other places we checked out) Establishment had laid back attitude, and were very accommodating to our group (6 adults, two 4x4 vehicles, and a quad) Since it was "off season" they let us pitch our tents and take up a bunch of room in spots normally reserved for RVs. People were friendly, and bathrooms were cleaned while we stayed, so I don't know how someone could say they were "filthy"...other than some cobwebs on light fixtures. Showers were hot and had good water pressure. Would definitely come back. read more

This place is the worst campground I have ever stayed at! The showers look like they were maybe cleaned a few years ago. The bathroom smells horrible and also may never have been cleaned. We were given one price at time of reserving and then charged more when we got there. They said it was a special blackout date and we had been told. While I was discussing that someone else called complaining of the same thing. With all other campgrounds full they knew we could do nothing but pay their price! The sites are on top of each other with zero parking on site. The so called dog park was not even fenced in and I believe my dogs had more room in their kennel! Don't waste your money, they will just steal it from you! read more

Hahaha I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the horror story reviews. Well....the place is a dump. might as well be a trailer park. My family and in laws had a nice weekend in Moab nonetheless. But the freaking site was so small. We were shoved in like sardines. Our dirt site barely fit our tents. When we pulled into this site and saw the site I seriously felt like Clark Griswald. Just no dead aunt Edna. The bathrooms were pretty dirty. Two showers didn't even work. Now, I did expect CAMPING when we arrived. But no camp fires allowed. The WiFi connection that they have must be dirt cheap because that wasn't happening. Luckily, having a bunch of family made the experience worth the weekend. Also, go check out Wake and Bake Cafe for breakfast in Moab. They have amazing breakfast burritos and crepes! read more

I just stayed at Slick Rock Campground for 3 nights. It was a little overpriced but no campground in the town of Moab isn't. To get free camping you have to be out in the boondocks with no protection from the wind and no bathrooms. The bathrooms at the campground were clean and I took a 30 minute shower the first night we stayed there. The hot water didn't run out at all. We didn't get the chance to go in the hot tub, but our friends who we met out in Moab have been in it every night and love it. I'm surprised to see only bad reviews! All in all I would recommend it to people expecting to have a spot for their tent and car, a grill, a picnic table, clean bathrooms with hot showers, and a hot tub. I wouldn't recommend it to someone expecting more than that. read more

This is the worst campground I have ever stayed at. I too was charged double what I owed upon arrival. Booked online and had my receipt with me when I checked in. I was told that if I didn't like the price difference I could leave. This was the same treatment that literally everyone in line with me was receiving. The spaces are crammed so close together that it is dangerously difficult to park your camper. The pool area was "nice", including the condom floating in the hot tub and the other signs that no one here cares enough about customers to clean the area up a bit. Honestly believe that any 5 star reviews must be written by the property owners. read more

Stayed over the holiday weekend; a few problems we encountered...not enough power to run out A/C, the "cable" has been split so many times our antenna did a better job, lack of parking, dog run was turned into tent camping, people where even camping in tents next to the dump station. I would not recommend staying here on a busy weekend. read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. We reserved the site online for $29/night and paid a deposit. They then sent us an email confirmation reflecting the price of $29/night + taxes. However, once at the campsite they surprised us with a $10 premium date fee because it was a weekend during Jeep Safari. They would not even look at the email confirmation that we had stating that we booked the site for $29/night. Instead they charged us $39/night. As far as the tent campsites they are very tiny. I felt I would get slivers just looking at the picnic table at our site, and didn't sit on it once because the table looked like it was falling apart. The sites are so crammed in that it is hard to drive your car through the other cars - honestly it seems unsafe. I will never stay at Slickrock Campground again. read more

We stayed here 4 nights. They put us at 2 different sites. The first 2 nights the site was tight but the last 2 nights the site wasn't bad. We were okay with with the noise but people definitely stay up late and are very loud. Lots of side by sides running past quiet hours. Pool was dirty and unheated. They told my husband when he called to make reservations that the pool was warm, far from the truth. They said they have wifi yet our whole party has tried to get it and hasn't been able to connect. The campground seems like it needs a little upkeep and better organization. We weren't the only ones being shuffled from site to site throughout the stay. FYI there is little to no grass and only some sites have fire pits. I can't comment on the cabins or bathrooms as we stayed in a trailer. However I did like that they had shade. read more

Worst campground experience to date. Tenting sites were a revolving door of inconsiderate tenants. Besides the paying customers, random people, all hours of the night, would drive up, use the showers, then leave...extremely disruptive to those actually trying to rest. The facilities were poorly maintained (2 toilets were completely not functioning, showers had water damage and evident wood rot) but just had a fresh coat of paint painted on (lipstick on a pig?). The pool was a nice addition. The front desk personnel was helpful, while the office was open. read more

We originally planned to stay here for three nights but left after the first night. To start, the sites are pretty much right on top of each other. Sleeping was impossible with other campers up being loud all hours of the night. They even allowed people to check in and set up camp at 1am!!! This wouldn't be an issue if the campsites weren't so close to each other that you can hear everything from every single group in the area. We are avid campers and typically don't have much bad to say about any campgrounds ever but this place is awful! To make matters worse I was refunded less money than promised when cancelling the rest of my reservation. With my experience with the front desk it wasn't worth my time and energy to call over an extra $30. We packed up first thing in the morning and left for some quiet BLM camping right on the Colorado river, and we were sooo happy we did! Would not recommend staying here! read more

Staff super unfriendly, like your business was inconveniencing them. Tent sites are a dusty parking lot and they dont allow campfires citing that there is a burn ban even though there isn't. Everything and I mean everything is dirty and/or broken. The office has a big friendly cat, and as a cat person I like that....except that it was literally walking on the food that they sell in the office. Not cool. read more

Do not stay here if you are bringing a tent! Upon arrival we were told our spot was #49, however, the "tent" spot, if you can even call it that, wasn't more than just a parking slot next to multiple other parking slots. There was no room for a tent. We have a fairly large tent that sleeps 6, and there wasn't room for a tent of this nature. My husband went back into the receptionist to let her know that this wasn't going to work, and she offered us a few other locations to look at. We drove around again and the sites that were still available were horrible. The tables were rotting, there was no place to park your car by your tent, the covers over the tent areas were warped and yellowed from the sun and didn't even have a fire pit to roast mallows! At this point we decided to call other campgrounds to see what was available, and found another place. I went back to Slickrock to see about getting a refund since were weren't going to be spending the 2 nights. The receptionist said that they don't offer refunds at all. I was taken back, since I explained that our tent doesn't fit in the sites, this was not for lack of looking to see if there was a better option - because nothing they had would have worked for us. She said it was their policy that they don't offer refunds for early checkouts. I explained that we didn't even stay at all, and that their sites didn't work. She called her manager and she said the same thing. No refunds! I was told to come back when the other manager was in the office to discuss the no refund policy. At that point I told them to keep my money because it wasn't worth explaining the situation again. She didn't listen and didn't act like she cared whether we stayed or not. DO NOT STAY HERE! I would NEVER EVER recommend this park. Horrible customer service and tent sites. read more

Pool outdated and not cleaned regularly. Could use a fresh coat of paint. Light bulbs missing here and there. Tent camped sight 149. Little noisy till 10pm. Mostly traffic. I am a little confused. The showers, bathrooms are nice and clean. The older shower house on the north side of the campground does have a puddling issue just outside the showers. The showers in the tent area are spotless and roomy. This is the second time staying at the park. We will return. The staff has always been great. Yes it is true no camp fires. The spots are pretty close so do you want a drunk neighbor melting you rv or nylon tent. What you dont see is paranoid owners or managers on patrol making sure you dont break the rules. You will have a great experience and they know the best Chinese place to eat in Moab. read more

We stayed here awhile ago and it was nice enough for a commercial place but it must have changes management since. We paid an exorbitant $40 a night for a double tent site and after pulling both cars in there was barely room for two tents never mind space to walk or sit and talk. They've banned campfires, which I get but their website still said they were allowed so we purchased a bunch of firewood we couldn't use. The guy at the desk was basically catatonic and not helpful or friendly. The wifi password didn't work. The sites were crammed incredibly close together and the women's room had several toilets that didn't flush and several stalls that didn't shut. And nether bathroom had soap or a way to dry your hands. I am never staying here again and will warn all my friends away from here. read more

BE WARNED: This is NOT Slickrock Campground your friends tell you is so great. That is located by the slickrock trailhead up sand flats road. This is Slickrock RV Park Campground, even though their website name will fool you. A worlds of difference. We asked weeks ago to change campsite #s. They neglected to do so. We had to pay more for a site we didn't want and were not granted a refund of the difference of price. This is the least concerning thing. First day we noticed that 4 out of the 6 toilets in the mens rooms were backed up to the brim with poop. There is not even liquid soap for the sink. There is mold on the walls in the shower stalls, and pools of mud water to walk through to use them. People smoking cigarettes everywhere and driving loops in the campground with their dune buggies like they're dragging Main St, constantly violating your ears with braaaps, and kicking dust up for you to inhale with the second hand smoke. A single trash dumpster for the whole park overflowing, and not even an option to recycle bottles or cans. read more

Made my reservations online because you can call 100x and nobody will answer at the front desk. There was a dispute when checking in with one of the members of our party. He had reserved a spot months in advance and that spot was taken, they did not honor his reservation they called the police on him and immediately refunded his money, as if the reservation was never made. We never checked into this dump, after that. They charged my card well over $300 that doesn't include the money they charged to reserve the spots months ago which was about $90 for 3 spots. Katie the wanna be manager hung up on me continuously and threatened to call the cops for harassing her. When I kept calling back to talk to management she would just hang up on me. They refuse to put the money back on my card, I have contacted my attorney as well as my bank to report fraudulent charges. Aside from the terrible customer service. Bathrooms are grotesque. It's a dirt lot with all camp sites cramped together you will hear your neighbors snore. Stay away from this place, you will surely regret it if you do not. There are wonderful places to stay in Moab with amazing scenery and serenity. This place however is a nightmare!!!!! read more

Terrible CG. No fires allowed. Dirty, run down bathrooms which have broken faucets, wood that is rotten around showers. Location is right on the highway, so noise is terrible. Biggest gripe is I reserved my spot for a week online with a cost I was expecting, and when I got to the CG, they said charged me $60 more. I asked why and they said there was a "blackout date". No other explanation. Didn't matter what i said after that. read more

GOT SHADE is accurate advertising. Shaded, dusty parking lot is more accurate. Some of that 'shade' fell in the night and woke up 10 sites. It was not stormy or windy. Crying children, frustrated parents and enough flashlights and onlookers to make it seem like a highway accident cleanup - awful. Seeing a 8" limb...inches from the tent, stretching over the neighbors pop up.. Just scary. Campers figured out the removal of limb. High traffic, high volume campground, with a few run down mobilehomes thrown in (possible permanent residents?) From the looks of it, it has not seen much updating in a couple decades, at least. Sites are outfitted with a table and charcoal grill. There are NO campfires allowed and the staff will joke about "what's camping without a campfire..not quite camping." That was the welcome at check in! The sites are very congested and there is physically no room for a fire pit, camp chairs, etc. you will sleep inches from your car tire and your neighbors, too! Sites are well used and tightly packed in. Felt more like tailgating in a parking lot/festival camping (not for free though). Dumpsters stay full, are plentiful and located in plain sight. Ultimately, we just stayed here for showers/water (there is plenty of dry BLM camping in the area). Bathrooms look to be painted annually and cleaned just as often. One day the bath house smelled of bleach, but I could not tell you what was cleaned. Shower drain was missing fasteners..water pools in shower stalls, due to improper install/age of fixtures. Shower curtains may have been rescued from the superfund site, near by. More than one toilet seat was loose - seems to be a local sport to leave logs in the toilets and wipe boogers on the white plywood walls. Paper towels provided, but no handsoap.. Avoided the door handles, which was very easy on the toilet stalls and showers, because there weren't any (or latches). Stayed here more than a decade ago and assumed it was ready for updating then.. Figured it was worth a second chance. Surprisingly, it was the same..with more wear. Moab has grown substantially (with many new accommodations and fresh camping options), this place is not following suit. Will not return to this tourist trap. read more

Staff was great. Couple miles outside town is the first drag but we were thankful to get a spot. Overgrown trees is how I'll remember this campground. You are going to scrape your roof here no matter how careful you are. And you're not going to get satellite. Oh and those huge speed bumps have to go read more

I wouldn't even gives this campground 1 star if it would let me write a review without it. We have been camping all over the US. We have camped in all 50 states, some several times. This is the worst campground we have ever been to. The bathrooms are dirty, the cabins are dirty and falling apart. You can feel the air coming out from under the door and can't hardly open the door. There is no water by any of the cabins. The pool was closed the first day we were here by the health department. read more
