I absolutely loved my stay with Under Canvas Moab! Only a short drive from one of the desert's most visited national parks, Arches, this is a great immersive experience for glamping in the desert. I had the tent with private bathroom, which was very helpful and I recommend as it is a little bit of a walk to the shared facility from some sites. It includes a flushing toilet and running water in the sink, and a camp style shower which runs by pulling the chain while you need it (so it is not continuous flow, for conservation). I visited during the spring and the temperatures were already in triple digits during the day, so being able to cool off with the water was essential. The service team was friendly and prompt, facilities were well maintained. There is cell service at the site and facilities are open 24/7. The front office gave me a phone number to text or call for anything needed throughout the night such as extra towels. They also drive golf cars all around and can help transport you across the grounds. The absolute highlight was being able to experience the beautiful stars in the sky since there is no light pollution. Overall, I will absolutely recommend under canvas for anyone wanting to experience camping in Moab with some comforts. Just make sure you pack all your food and provisions since the options onsite are very limited.

We loved the location so close to arches and literally across the highway from Canyon-lands. Stunning views from our porch. Good music nightly and attentive staff. This is glamping. And the first night was a wonderful thunderstorm at night. We loved every minute. ( the site is Right off the highway so there is highway noise). Cozy bed and lovely wood stove kept our tent cabin perfect for reading lookout g out on the Mesa!

TLDR: We were so disappointed with Under Canvas Moab that we booked other accommodations for our stay in Moab, in spite of losing our money on the remainder of our booking with them. Be warned: Urban Canvas has no way to address the insane heat of a Moab summer. They do have misters (ours was broken). They also have small battery powered fans in the tents. One of our two fans was broken (not that it helped much in 100+ degree heat). The heat is truly unsafe. Heat stroke and dehydration are real possibilities, especially after a day of activities in Moab. We actually just stayed in our car with AC until evening when it would cool down a little bit. Cell service is spotty at best and of course, there's no wifi. Our first night there, we were swarmed by biting ants in our bed. No food in the room. The solution was to douse the inside of our small tent with chemicals and offer a 10% discount on our stay (that they never delivered on - they said because we booked through a 3rd party). It didn't get cool enough to sleep until about 12AM and the ant attack happened at 3AM. We stayed out on the patio after the chemical dousing and didn't get any more sleep. We were out. We booked new accommodations and just accepted the loss. We did attempt to cancel our booking about a week out, but Urban Canvas was not willing to cancel or make any changes to our booking. One other thing to mention, this property is right on a major highway and the noise is so bad that the hotel gives you ear plugs at check-in. We were too hot to sleep or notice the noise, so it wasn't a factor, but thought it was worth a mention. The cost of this stay was in the premium or luxury range. Customer service and accommodations were below one star. I've stayed at better Motel 6s. We've stayed in many "glamping" hotels, before, including one right next door to Urban Canvas and have always really enjoyed the service and facilities. This was miserable. Don't make the same expensive mistake we made.

The morning sunrise was the best.

I really Loved this place. The tent and amenities were great but we had 2 major issues. One was fixable and 1 wasn't. 1. Our bed squeaked with every move. By the time we payed down, we were too tired to complain. 2. The location is beautiful but the road noise was intolerable! It ruined the feeling of being in the wilderness with nature fir me! They supplied ear plugs but they were no use. All night long the trucks were so loud that there wasn't a minute of peace. I wanted to hear wilderness or crickets not the drone of 18 wheelers. So sad. I loved the concept and would definitely do this again but I'd check it out a little closer next time. If you are deaf or like loud road noise this place is for you!

Under Canvas - Moab was a great experience, especially for our first time glamping. We were there in April and there was a wind advisory out. The reception tent is gorgeous with sitting areas to hang out and free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for you to take (all just generic stuff). On particular days they will have live music or yoga in the morning and smores every night by sunset. The live music was very serene at sunset. There are different fire pits available with one main one but they are 1-2 others you can ask them to fire up if you'd like social distancing. One weird thing is that we asked (one couple) and one staff member said no because of the wind, but another group (family) asked and they said yes... OK whatever. The smores packet were also pretty cheap IMO with some not even having hershey chocolates but like mini snickers or 3 musketeers. The tent was really specious, which great lounging chairs and it was really easy to use the wood fire stove for warmth. There's a very comfortable king size bed with 5 or so pillows! There's communal bathrooms (each stall has a shower and toilet) that was very clean and upscale for glamping. Fresh towels in the first door for you to grab as well. You can hear everything so it was so important to wear ear plugs when sleeping because the the wind was crazy that night and whoosh all over the canvas tent. The price is high and I think the value is so/so. Our main driver of staying here was the close proximity to Arches National Park and having the ability to see the stars which we could only see at 3-4AM (woke up from the wind) but were glorious.

My first visit to Under Canvas Moab happened to be planned right at the start of the pandemic, so I cut it short and opted to cash out my remaining night as a voucher instead of a refund. The staff was extremely accommodating and understanding during that time, and I'm glad to see nothing has changed. Our 2.0 experience this time around was just unforgettable. First let me say it's the best night sleep you'll ever have in the desert. I can't speak highly enough of the beds. It's like you're the stick inside of a gooey fire-roasted marshmallow. Fuzzy and floofy blankets engulf you. The wood burning stove and flushing toilets/hot showers inside the tent make it a cozy and comfortable refuge. If the adventures in the surrounding Moab desert weren't so enticing, I would've stayed in that bed all day! As for the customer service at Under Canvas, it is above and beyond. The staff is personable, knowledgeable about the area, and just happy to be there. I showed up to find that someone on staff had complimentarily upgraded me from a Safari tent to a suite! What an incredible surprise! They also organize fun (and complimentary) camp activities like stargazing, s'mores by the fire, and live music. We partook in all of these great offerings. I do wish the stargazing guide knew a bit more about astronomy, but we got to see some cool stars and planets regardless. We enjoyed all the resort had to offer. I look forward to visiting Under Canvas again. Im considering making it an annual trip. If you're looking for a memorable, luxurious glamping adventure in a spectacular area, I recommend Under Canvas Moab!

We just visited and had such an incredible trip!!! Moab is spectacular and a stay at Under Canvas is well worth it. The crew at Under Canvas Moab is amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure our visit was perfect. We arrived very late on a Friday and the night staff helped us get settled quickly and easily. After a long day of traveling with small children this was so helpful. Not only did we receive a warm welcome but they helped us get unpacked and settled in for the night. The next day they were on hand to help answer every and all questions for us. They have a vast, insider knowledge of the area and helped with tons of recommendations. We felt like we were staying with friends but also kind of like we had the place to ourselves. It was perfect! The location of the property is ideal for adventures all over Moab. It's at the doorsteps of Arches and very close to all that Canyonlands has to offer. It's not right in town but close enough if you need supplies, or want to go shopping or grab a meal. The property faces palisades on one side with a spectacular view of the desert and the La Sal mountains on the other. The first night we arrived they were sold out (we got the last tent) it was a Safari Tent (number 16.) That night was chilly and it was just fun to make a fire. For the next two nights we got a Deluxe Tent (number 10.) We were happy with the Safari but if you can upgrade to a Deluxe it's well worth it! The Deluxes are slightly more secluded and have a toilet, sink, and pull handle shower. The shower is not a 5 star luxury tub-combo deal (because you're camping) but if you have ever camped without a shower you know what a luxury it is to take a hot shower at the end of day. The bed in the tents was surprisingly comfortable and warm. Our kids slept on cots and they were perfect. Sleeping bags and everything we needed were already in the tent, plus the cots have insulated bottoms to keep you warm. We brought our own blankets and that was nice. The tent got warm during the day but we opened the flaps and got a cross breeze. If you can Tent 10 is where celebrities like Neil Young and Matthew McConaughey have stayed while visiting. Chances are whichever tent you're in your going to feel like a celebrity. Here are the negatives: the property is not right in town so you will need to drive. However, this is also a pro because it's truly more of a wilderness experience and the town of Moab can be really busy. The property is also on a busy road. The road did not bother us at all but it is something to consider. You can hear it. Also, if you are not prepared to be camping Under Canvas is not for you. You are in a tent. You will hear the wind and temperatures are whatever it is outside. We were prepared to be camping and LOVED the experience!!! Last negative is that you are most likely going to hear people at some point while you're in your tent. This is NOT a hotel. It's a group camping situation but it sure beats a regular tent. I can't say enough great things about this place and surrounding area. We are already planning a return visit to Moab as well as some of their other locations!!!! P.S. set your alarm for the spectacular sunrises. Also keep your eyes peeled at night for shooting stars across the sky.

We arrived at under canvas Moab for a wedding. The backdrop could not have been more beautiful & the staff were so friendly & attentive. I am not a camper & tend to prefer air conditioning & electricity, but I have to say the this was a great trip. I arrived not feeling my best, not sure if it was the heat, altitude, or lack of sleep, but the staff could not have been more accommodating. Kendal, especially, help us get to our tent & even checked on us a few hours later. The tent was clean and the bed very comfortable, the views were spectacular. I thought the little touches were great. There was no refrigeration in the tents, but they provided use with coolers & all the ice we needed. I loved the misters on the porch. There was an endless supply of water to fill our water bottles in the office/reception area & a cooler with cold towels to help cool you down. If you wish to shower, make you do it early in the morning or late in evening. The water gets pretty hot in the middle of the day but we were given plenty of warning about that before hand. All & all it was a fabulous trip that I would highly recommend.

If you haven't gone glamping yet you are definitely missing out. I wasn't sure what to expect when looking up Under Canvas Moab but I had done tons of research on camping in the area and it was clear to see that glamping aka glamorous camping was the way to go to enjoy the Moab desert in a different way than ever experienced. It all started with check in, where as soon as you drove up there was a person sitting outside of a rather large tent with a smile. She gave us a big cheese and waved. As we approached the staff was super friendly directing us into the big tent for check in. The big tent was decorated very warm and inviting and we received the full run down about camp. They also told us that we had arrived just in time to join the free and included guided nature hike through the desert. Our welcome staffer also guided us to our private safari tent which included a king size bed, dresser and chair. The thing we were most excited to see were two large industrial battery charges for our electronics. This was a great touch and really allows you to take pictures of the beauty that surrounds you. We got to wake up and enjoy a hot air balloon as we sipped our morning drinks. We enjoyed a hike around the entire area and learned about the specialness of the Moab desert and we even got to hang around the fire and meet new friends when the staff provided late night s'mores for everyone. The grills are easy to get to for cooking and they even include covered areas for eating - but beware of spiders and bring light - there wasn't very much light and we cooked after the sunset hike. Lastly one note to make unless you get a deluxe tent the bathrooms are smaller with tiny showers. But it was a fun experience of brushing teeth outside with a beautiful view - just bring flip flops for showers and you will be fine. The site provides a great towel tent for linens.

Stayed here during our visit to Arches National Park. My wife did extensive research and found Under Canvas. At first we were somewhat hesitant due to having young children and technically "camping". However we were extremely pleased with their Deluxe Canvas Tent. Upon arriving we were met with their staff and driven to our canvas in a golf cart. We were delighted by their clean linens, towels and bathroom/shower. Only reason I am not giving this location 5 stars is due to also visiting their Zion location and being even better and newer. Only negative would be that the actual canvas was a little older and worn down, zipper on the canvas was a little faulty. Nothing that would stop me from returning.

We had an amazing experience here! We were in Moab to elope at Canyonlands National Park and after checking in late at night we were greeted with a flower display and a postcard from the Under Canvas staff congratulating us. The site was clean, the facilities were great we stayed in a deluxe tent. We didn't get a chance to enjoy all the extra fun stuff like s'mores and all the different games but they looked great! I would love to highlight the employee that checked us out. He told me his name but I unfortunately can't recall it. But I guess it was his first day (5/25) and we brought a floor length mirror that ended up breaking (no surprise) but he was willing to take it off our hands and dispose of it so that we didn't have to make our 10 hour drive back home. And he said if Under Canvas couldn't dispose of it that he would do it himself. Wow! Talk about above and beyond! He mentioned his sister managed another Under Canvas location (Zion, I believe), so I'm sure the great service may run in the family. Thank you guys for a great experience and a good way to enjoy my elopement trip! *Picture we're after our stay, trust me the place was pristine when we arrived!

The bathroom has hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We didn't use the community areas, but the setup looks great and it has a grill. Cons: Cleanliness is lacking, there are cobwebs throughout. The floor needs a good vacuuming and a heavy mopping done. It looks like only spot cleaning is done when guests leave the property. Seeing the lack of cleanliness made me question if our sheets had actually been washed and that's a gross feeling. The bath tub has no stopper, but using a wash rag worked just fine. The hot water is lacking. A quarter of the way filling the tub the water turned cold, and it took a good 45 minutes for the water to heat back up. With three people needing to bathe/shower, it was problematic and very disappointing after a long day of being out in Arches N.P. Be sure to watch a YouTube video on the Hamilton Beach Brew Station coffee pot before using or you will have watered down cold coffee. Unfortunately, I did this after making our coffee, and wasted the coffee grounds and collagen powder I had brought. There is a lot of road noise, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I don't think we will be back here again for the price we paid.

Horsethief Campground is run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Their mission is "To sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations." I did copy their mission from their website, FYI. Horsethief caught our eye online immediately. Though it did not have any running water offered, it was open during the winter. It also had toilets on site, which was a win for us. We decided to drive to Horsetheif and check it out. They offer both campsites and RV sites, but with no hook ups. All sites are first come, first serve. Which was also fine with us, because again, we were planning on camping during the winter, during a time when they had just had a good amount of snowfall. I was told that it was an unseasonable amount for that area at this time. As we drove we made note of how close the campground was to both Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We were planning on visiting both parks, so this seemed ideal. When we pulled in, (and do not blink, you can easily miss the entrance), we knew we found our campground. It was breath taking. The area was spectacular. It was covered with pristine snow and had Pinyon trees all around. It was like we were the only people there, we felt so secluded and protected. We picked tent site 25 and it could not have been more perfect. When we stay at Horsethief again we will aim to get the same site. It was close enough to the bathroom and yet hidden. I fell in love with our site and that campground in the short time we were there. The cost is $20 per night for tent sites and you need to bring exact cash. You simply put your cash in the provided envelopes and drop it in the drop box. When we visited there were no pens/pencils, and we did not travel with any, but I hope they know that we were the ones that paid. Please if you stay a night at Horsethief, please pay your fee, the money goes directly to the BLM and that is how they support taking care of their land. It was magnificent and I can not wait to return.
