The site is clean flat slab full hook ups shady tree and picnic bench. Bathroom clean laundry facility clean $2 each $1.75 dry. Nice horse shoe area. very close to town. Easily walk or ride bikes to anything . Here are reasons I gave it a 3 did not feel like camping at all. School softball field literally right behind us . Maybe 20 feet. We stayed 3 nights cable and WiFi did not work not one of the days . When we talked to front desk they acted like "oh well" it's the weather . So for full time RVers that need WiFi for work this is not the spot for you. The spot is so close to town you would think that if they really offered these things they would work. This is not a remote campsite . Bottom line you want to be close to Main Street and downtown this is the place for you . If you are a full timer who pays to stay in town for the WiFi this is not for you read more

Great place if being in a campground and close to restaurants and shops is what you are looking for. Nice level slabs for parking. Clean bathroom facilities and super close to the grocery store and restaurants. I usually boondock in Moab which has more privacy and views, but this was a quick trip where I needed WiFi etc. It was perfect for that. read more

This place is great because you are able to get a lot done in one location. With so many National Parks around, this is a really great place to camp. Bring your family - they are kid friendly and even have a great pool to cool off in. I have been here many times. Once they had an organized race and though it was a bit cramped, they really seemed to keep things under good management and run smoothly. read more

The front office staff are so friendly. They were so accommodating and understanding when I was stuck waiting for parts and packages in Moab for my RV. The amenities are nice here too, we were able to get our laundry done while waiting. They also have a pool and playground for the kiddos. Don't go to the playground at night though, we saw a few cockroaches lurking around. There is also a general store and gas station conveniently located at the front. The pool even has a splash fountain. For the most part, this place is clean. There are huge trees shading most of the sites. Would definitely stay here again. read more

Sites were a little tight but they have cement pads and full hookups. The staff was friendly and the campground is close to Arches NP. Bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of washers and dryers for us to do our laundry. If staying at this campground and pulling a trailer, use caution when entering and exiting the campground - narrow and somewhat congested entrance. read more

This campground is a little oasis in the middle of the desert. My family had the opportunity to stay here this past weekend and loved it. We had a trailer and had upgraded to a pull through site. We arrived late-after the office had closed, but were able to locate our site and get settled really easily. Most of the campground has plenty of shade, and due to social distancing guidelines, every other site was vacant-so we had plenty of space. Had the campground been full to capacity, it would have felt a little crowded. There is an off leash dog play area that was perfect for our little guy. Larger dogs might get bored of it, but it did the trick for us. There are also a few restrooms and showers that were well maintained and clean. Onsite, you'll see that there is a gas station and convenience store-which we really appreciated when we needed a few things. The lady running the place is not very friendly-she seems to be annoyed by travelers or maybe just had a bad weekend (she was unpleasant both days we went in). There is also a great looking swimming pool and group pavilion-both were closed, but I'd love to check them out another trip. Our site was located right next to the camp host residence. Although our interactions with the staff were minimal, I did notice that there was a group of late teens/early twenty-somethings that were staying in the house and made a lot of noise. They were yelling, laughing and driving sporadically in and out of the park one night. I was a little surprised, since the camp hosts are usually the ones that set the example for the guests. But these guys were all about having a good time. Maybe next time, I'll go join them. ;-) read more

This location was nice and what we needed for 1 night but I'm not sure I would have wanted to stay more than that. The front desk staff were very friendly and the setup is convenient with the general store, gas, pool and two facilities but there could be a bit more attention to the amenities. The bathrooms were dingy and a lot of hair on the walls and floor and the only air dryer was broken. They should be cleaned at least twice a day with the amount of people that location accommodates. I will try other locations this brand offers but I wouldn't use it to stay more than 1-2 nights. read more

We choose this park as we were only staying one night and wanted to be able to explore downtown Moab with our dog. The site was level. We have a Class B so easy in and out. We were near the front so easy walk to bathrooms and the gas station. Walked to the brewery pub for dinner with our dog. I looked at reservations a few weeks earlier and the price was around $80 but I wasn't sure of our schedule so didn't reserve until a day or 2 in advance. Was over $100 for the night and I'm sure pricing is based on availability. There was some road noise but didn't bother us much. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you don't plan to walk to town and drive, there is another Sun Outdoors near Arches entrance. read more

Great location. It is a good fit for Adventure Vans and small Class C's. Do not recommend for Class A Motorhomes. The trees are a threat for damage overhead and the distance between sites are extremely tight. Dog run is terrible with nothing but dusty dirt. Recommend some bark or other ground cover. Your dogs will need a bath after venturing into the space. Difficult to exit among the trees and the dump station is in the single lane exit route. Overall a very dusty place with tight spaces. Not up to the expectations of a Sun Outdoor property. I would not take anything larger than a 27 foot Class C. read more

Not sure about this place. Tried to check in at 12:15 and stated "we're a little early and hope you can check us in". Woman behind the counter, "we'll have to charge you $30 more because check-in is at 2:00, although I can check you in at 1:00 without the $30 charge. We have to charge because we're extremely full." Soooooo, you could check me in (and we're staying for 2 weeks) and have spaces available, but you want to nickel and dime me for $30. We drove through to leave for 45 minutes and noticed at least 30 empty spaces. We came back to the same woman with an overly pleasant attitude (passive aggressive at its finest). We're spending over $1,000 to stay here and this is how we started. I'm cautiously optimistic but don't appreciate being taken advantage of. Great hospitality!!! ----absolute sarcasm!!! We didn't interact with staff much at all so I can't say anything about them. The downsides were that it is right in town and it does get super loud at night. At first appearance, as we drove in, I was not impressed. We passed the Moab RV Resort as we drove into town and I was impressed by their view but then I remembered they wanted about $25 more per night. I don't usually price shop, I prefer resorts and I am willing to pay the extra but this time I opted to remain on the economical side. Once we were set up I realized I gave up a view (we backed up to the high school) and the sites were small but well shaded with mature trees that paid off during the 106 degree days. The resort is clean and well maintained. There are people attending to the grounds throughout the day, hosing off empty sites and keeping the restrooms in great condition. There was room enough for the bigger rigs and their tow vehicles, but just barely. Basically, if you are traveling to Moab you are probably looking to hit the local National Parks so if you just want a clean and reasonably priced home base, this certainly fits that bill. Nice areas for tent camping (not our thing) and some cabins available for rent as well. The general store was sufficiently stocked with necessities and the staff were friendly. There is a nice playground area for the little ones and the pool, while not big, did have a splash area which many children were using. Overall, I was happy with the stay. While not the most scenic place we have ever stayed, I saved a couple hundred dollars and drove to the scenic places I wanted to see. Check out the pictures. You have a few places to pick in town but for the money, this place delivered on value and cleanliness. It only missed out on the 5th star because of the location. Close to everything but all you see when sitting outside is the RV parked 5 feet away from you. read more

Spent two nights in a standard site. Level pad, rock area with picnic table. There was shade from trees. Plenty of room for car to park. Water pressure was strong. Easy pull in, gasoline was as you arrive so convenient. Great pavilion and horse shoe pits, cute play area. Tough pull off while checking in. Pool was refreshing, clean. It is next to the road but fenced. Had a splash play area for children. Store has useful RV items. Location was perfect as could walk to shops, food, grocery, museum etc. WiFi was in and out. Cable was useful as you can't stream on WiFi. read more

We stayed here 4 days and the facility was good. There was a couple of tree soakers in our spot that ran constantly and formed standing muddy water the whole time. The shower stalls are disgusting and I didn't see anyone clean them while we were there. The shower curtains are so bad they need to be thrown away. This rating is ONLY for the showers. The showers are much cleaner and cheaper than the ones at the rec center, however on the third day I came here they were pretty gross (probably due to it being 6pm and they get cleaned at 9:30pm) so keep that in mind. However I would always come here over the rec center because the water is warm and it's a 1/3 of the price. Seemed like a nice place to camp as well! read more

Update: They did refund money for the issues we had. Like I said office staff, they are the only staff I dealt with, is top notch. The staff at check in were friendly. You are not allowed early check in so they can clean the sites. All good in theory. When we were allowed to go to our sites the tables were dirty like mud party dirty. We had maggots all over two of our three sites. No campfires because of the burn ban, I'm okay with that. So.....what did they clean to deny early check in??? Left message at the front office about the maggots with no response. I will add this and it has nothing to do with the facility or staff. Women are freaking nasty. You leave your long flowing strands of hair ALL OVER THE BATHROOM. It is nasty. Sinks. Showers. Floors. Toilets. It's like we have daily women fighting each other and they are pulling each other's hair out. Damn just clean up after yourself. Be respectful of who is coming in behind you. read more

Nice campground, but would not recommend for elderly pets or elderly pet owners. The pet area is way out of the way and has multiple steps to ascend/ descend. After the flooding, very little grass remains... mostly a mud pit. In the area of the campsites, it is entirely gravel so if your pet is used to grass it can be very frustrating to find a place they will go. Very nice big shade trees do help to keep the sites cool. read more

Had a great time here! We rented one of their cabins to simply have somewhere to sleep with air conditioning. The amenities in the cabin were in good shape and the outdoor amenities were great as well. The pool and splashpad were great for our kiddo and also in really good condition. After reading through some of the ratings, I realized that some people were either in their RV, or they rented a cabin for the night. After coming to Moab since the early 90's and being able to easily find a campsite, I was surprised, after spending two nights in a hotel, that finding a campsite would be so challenging. There used to be so many free campsites on BLM land, which now have specified sites, probably to minimize damage being done to the land. Regardless, I showed up here at 7:45 and was able to get a site for my tent. It was very dark setting up, and the site I was assigned was right near the fence, at the end of one of the tent rows, and right next to the main road that heads to and from 1-70, to Moab, and to Canyonlands and to Arches. Therefore, there was noise all night long from cars and trucks driving past. The darkness was short-lived, as around 1:30 AM, the huge Chevron gas station sign next to the campground turned on, and bathed the area in a ton of light! If you can sleep through car and truck noises, and lights, you will do fine trying to sleep here. The bathrooms seemed decent, and pretty clean. Although, it seemed more bathrooms might be needed. Also, one bathroom I went in had a ton of water all over the floor from someone who had showered in there and had gotten water all over the entire bathroom floor. The campground is convenient, they have a dog walk area, and a playground, as well as a store. If you are looking for convenience, this is a great location for an inexpensive price, although not very secluded. The people who work here seemed very helpful and friendly too. So glad they had a spot for me so I could try to sleep a little before heading back home. read more

I have to disagree with other reviewers here. While it is right on the main drag, that's what made it convenient for us, camping in an RV site, not tent camping. After exploring Arches, Canyonlands, dinosaur tracks, and Indian petroglyphs sites, we found it very relaxing, clean, well-managed, and our 3 day stay was great here! Pool was very clean and had bbq inside pool area. Laundry facilities were ample and clean. (10 washer dryers, so no wait even if crowded). We parked our small 19 foot travel trailer in spot #1, close to the bathrooms, laundry, showers, and store. Need ice? 1 minute walk around the building. Coffee in the morning? Espresso bar inside the Texaco gas station store. Don't get me wrong here.... I'm a tent camper by nature, no pun intended. But, in a travel trailer, I just sleep and eat here while exploring nearby attractions during the day, and it was a great stay! Hell... There's a brewery across the street, even though we didn't visit! Bottom line- If you are tent camping and want a natural, gorgeous sunset spot, with killer views and silence, and beautiful surroundings, camp inside Arches National Park... One of the nicest & coolest campgrounds I've ever seen. If you are an RV'er, and want pool, wi-fi, cable TV, water & sewer, laundry, and a convenience store/gas station on property, this is your place! read more

Exceptionally clean, well managed campground inside the city limits of bustling Moab. The front-office staff really make this campground work so well. Wonderful greeting, accommodating requests, managing special needs with grace....these ladies do-it-all. They surprised me with a birthday cake and balloon upon arrival St Patrick's day!!! Now that's really special, and exemplifies the kind of people running this campground (and this is during busy Jeep week 2016). This is our second year year, and we decided to come back next month for a week, next April. Spotless surroundings, very clean restrooms, small pool plus BBQ available for guests. The most convenient spot "in" Moab. It's a city campground with small parking spaces, but you can't beat their location for convenience. read more

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this campground. There are many positive things to say about it..... #1 the central location in downtown Moab that's within walking distance to many restaurants. #2 the pool & #3 the clean bathrooms and laundry mat. This time, however, we checked in like usual....unpacked our trailer, and almost immediately our belongings and trailer were inundated with small, brown flying stink bugs. They were falling right off the trees surrounding our trailer and vehicle & landing on our kids, our chairs, our table & bikes. Everywhere. Huge bummer. We couldn't eat outside or leave our door open for even a second the entire duration of our stay or else they would flown inside or camper. When we packed up to leave, our belonging were covered in bugs and we had to thoroughly shake out, stomp on, and kill 100's of bugs so we didn't bring them home from vacation with us. Lastly, we have 4 kids and on the 2nd day, the pool was suddenly closed because of "high wind and fence damage". The wind had significantly died down from the day prior, and the fence looked to be stabilized with posts in one area. I assume they closed the pool for safety reasons, but our kids didn't want to hang all over the fence. They simply wanted to swim in the pool. The fact that the pool was closed for such a minor issue for the last 2 days of our stay was a huge bummer for our children considering how hot Moab can get in summer months. For these reasons, we will look elsewhere next time we come to Moab. read more

This place was reasonable and convenient for two car campers needing a place to sleep after exploring Arches. The showers were hot and there was plenty of shade trees. We did get there pretty late at night so I can't speak for customer service but the late check in package was very thorough and self-explanatory so that was helpful. We ended up with some rowdy neighbors but with the large fences between campsites it still felt private. The only problem was the cockroaches. I didn't see a single review mentioning this and we're not from Utah so I don't know if they're just a common problem in the summertime, but they were all over the campsite. The vast majority were dead, but there were some still alive and it was all I could do not to bail and look for a hotel room, I was so grossed out, but we were too tired to care. It's great if this place sprays for them, but at least sweep them or rake them up?? Knowing this now, I probably won't be camping in Moab again in general. read more

Great basecamp for Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point! This was a great, full-service campsite! The staff was very friendly and there were great amenities. The showers/bathroom facilities were clean, and I was even able to do some laundry! It's right in town, so we could easily walk around Moab (which is a great little town) and grab a good meal and brouse through the galleries and shops. (Make your reservations early!) read more

We stayed for 6 days in last week of May. We had a 14 ft. utility trailer and did see on the website you can park in the overflow for a small fee. The overflow is super small and tight. We had a hard time finding a spot and making the turn with all the other vehicles, also first come first serve so beware on busy holidays. No designated spots. The sights are super close together. You can hear your neighbors every conversation even if talking low.We brought a generator and were told they are not allowed. No where on website says no generators.. the pool is right next to the road super noisy with all the deasil trucks and super stinky smelling the exhaust fumes. You definitely are in the heart of downtown but you can hear traffic all day and night so take some earplugs. The campsight is clean and they do a good job keeping the restroom clean. But beware only one restroom facility in the center. Our site was G11. We were the farthest away you could be. Not our cup of tea. Won't back to your facility. read more

Literally do anything you possibly can to avoid ending up in the T loop for tent sites. It is actually worse than a parking lot. I am not kidding. Right on the very busy and noisy road, separated from multiple hotel parking lots by a flimsy fence, flooded with light by the hotels, and the ground is this terrible fine dirt that gets stuck in everything. The main bathroom with flush toilets and showers is a solid 5 minute walk away across a creek and up a hill. The "bathrooms" they put out on this loop are actually just porta-potties. What is most shitty is when you make a reservation they ask if you want to "lock in" your site by paying an additional $20?!? So even if you pick a tent site in the G loop, which is considerably better than the T loop, you might still end up with a site in the T loop when you show up (as was our case). Unfortunately we showed up after the office was closed so there was no arguing this. I would have honestly just left and stayed in a random site off the road if we weren't so tired and in need of showers. It got even worse at about 4 am when the hotel dumpsters that were immediately on the other side of the fence got emptied. Our neighbors in the campsite next to us got in a yelling match with the garbage men to be more quiet and then ended up packing up all of their things and leaving the campground at 4 am. I would have gotten a better night's sleep in a Walmart parking lot. My advice- don't stay here if you're not an RV. If you really need the showers they let you pay $6 at the front to come use them (which is still steep for showers that were semi clean but definitely not hot). If you HAVE to stay here and you are in a tent or camper van, it would definitely be worth it to pay a few extra dollars for the "delux" tent site. Even if they switch your site number around, all of the delux sites are closer to the bathrooms, away from the roads/hotels, and have a gravel base. Not a great start for our moab trip!!!! read more

It is a step up from a KOA. (Actually, when we left, we went to a KOA in Cortez, CO, at Mesa Verde, which is nicer.) The level, concrete pads are nice, and there is shade. If they placed the RVs any closer together you would have to share sleeping space! The showers were clear, and the water was hot. If I go back to Moab I would look for something else, with more space. read more

Great spot in the middle of downtown Moab... not the best RV resort experience sadly... poorly managed by the front desk unfortunately. I do believe their DNA is to make people feel happy. We ran out of power during the night because of a big storm. We went at 9:am kindly asking if they could send someone... at 1pm before we are leaving for our jeep tour, we reminded them that power was still down... we had no battery on our cell. Came back by 5:30pm office was closed... so we nicely called them and a girl told us she sent twice the maintenance and there is nothing she could do more about it. So we found the maintenance guy, and obviously there was an issue... waste of time! But our major concern was not really that... We asked nicely if we could stay an extra night, spot 70 was available on their site. Well once again the girl at the front desk did not want to help us... she laughed when I asked if she could put us on a waiting list. I mean we were guests for 2 days... I would assume that could be something nice to do, she is the one aware about any cancellations... I guess not, she said: you have to check with us every hour! I forgot we came to Moab to do someone else job VS enjoying the scenery! The two stars missing was for that poor experience! We called RV Portal Resort, and it was full too! 15min later I got a call back from the girl who saved us a spot! Finally met someone who likes her job and make people happy... how easy that was! We had a great stay due to the neighbors... not too sure I will recommend this place at all! Sun RV Resort are so nice at their main office, too bad they are poorly represented on site. Not to mention, it's definitely not the most clean RV resort we saw on the road for the last 3 weeks. Moab is just a paradise for campers! Thanks for having us. read more

it was very disappointing when we had booked 3 nights & online there was a promotion that said, pay for 2 and get the 3rd free. the guest services manager did not allow that because we had to book 2 reservations since the same campsite was not available for 3 days. in my opinion, she could have easily of done this & was not flexible at all. her tone & attitude had a lot to be desired. note: call & don't try booking online. the facility was pretty decent - there wasn't grass for the rv's but in the back there was some grass. things are very outdated (wash room, rest rooms). it was very family friendly & we walked into town to eat or explore after spending the day at arches, canyonlands or dead horse state park. read more
