The grounds are well maintained, and the amenities are impressive. The pool area is pristine, the fitness center is fully equipped, and the communal spaces like the pickleball court & pond area are fantastic. It's clear that a lot of thought and care went into designing the resort to be a relaxing enjoyable place. If you're into off-roading, this is place for you, centrally located between downtown and some hard core trails. However, my experience with the ground staff was very disappointing. From the moment we checked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. After parking in front of our house while unloading within minutes, they came to tell us we need to move. Obviously we were unloading but the man in the golf cart pretended to clean with a leaf blower as he watched us. This was a daily routine for him. In our last day there as we are packing up and loading our Jeeps, he came by again and said "you know you guys need to leave in half hour right".... It felt a bit racist, uncomfortable and unnecessary. It was unfortunate because the potential for this place to be a 5 start is there, but the poor customer service overshadowed the entire experience. Therefore, 4 stars is the most I can give them. I hope management takes these issues seriously because with better service, this place could easily be the best RV resort in the area.

She was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable, and kept us laughing all day with river guide stories and jokes. One of our favorite parts was when Molly pointed out a Padlé Oarefish. We'd never even heard of one before! She explained they're unusually flat fish, most commonly yellow with blue, red, or pink accents, and they're surprisingly well camouflaged along the river. Such a cool thing to learn! She also showed us a rock formation that looked exactly like Winnie the Pooh wearing a beret and breathing fire. Once you see it, you can't unsee it! The wildlife was unbelievable. We saw bighorn sheep, three otters, geese, blue herons (mud flamingos), a baby deer, a fox catching a fish, and a huge eagle nest. Molly said we're officially her lucky group because they usually only see a couple of those animals, and she'd never seen the deer or the fox on a trip before. Lunch was fantastic too! The "conewiches" were surprisingly delicious. We were a little hesitant because we'd never tried Mediterranean food before, but the homemade Mediterranean salad with feta and kettle chips folded into a tortilla absolutely rocked. I'm still wishing I had Molly's recipe! If you're thinking about rafting in Moab, book the Fisher Towers trip with Red River Adventures. If you get Molly as your guide, consider yourself lucky. You'll leave with great memories, sore cheeks from laughing, and probably a newfound appreciation for the rare and majestic Padlé Oarefish. Oh, and I t's officially Hank's Bubble Bath in our book. We got to swim through one of the rapids which was so fun! The rapids were small but fun. Lunch was delicious - curried chicken salad, chickpea salad, and guacamole cones, with Oreos! Our guide Liz, and Team Leader Aaron made sure we had a great trip - they pointed our animals like wild goats, blue herons, and bald eagles, and Liz really helped make sure we had a great day. I highly reccomend this company and this particular trip!

Due to a water main break at Arches National Park we had to search for a new place to camp while…read morenear Moab, UT hiking and vactioning. Horsethief Campground is run by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Their mission is "To sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations." I did copy their mission from their website, FYI. Horsethief caught our eye online immediately. Though it did not have any running water offered, it was open during the winter. It also had toilets on site, which was a win for us. We decided to drive to Horsetheif and check it out. They offer both campsites and RV sites, but with no hook ups. All sites are first come, first serve. Which was also fine with us, because again, we were planning on camping during the winter, during a time when they had just had a good amount of snowfall. I was told that it was an unseasonable amount for that area at this time. As we drove we made note of how close the campground was to both Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. We were planning on visiting both parks, so this seemed ideal. When we pulled in, (and do not blink, you can easily miss the entrance), we knew we found our campground. It was breath taking. The area was spectacular. It was covered with pristine snow and had Pinyon trees all around. It was like we were the only people there, we felt so secluded and protected. We picked tent site 25 and it could not have been more perfect. When we stay at Horsethief again we will aim to get the same site. It was close enough to the bathroom and yet hidden. I fell in love with our site and that campground in the short time we were there. The cost is $20 per night for tent sites and you need to bring exact cash. You simply put your cash in the provided envelopes and drop it in the drop box. When we visited there were no pens/pencils, and we did not travel with any, but I hope they know that we were the ones that paid. Please if you stay a night at Horsethief, please pay your fee, the money goes directly to the BLM and that is how they support taking care of their land. It was magnificent and I can not wait to return.

We found that Wild West voyages was very responsive and gave us periodic updates prior to our trip. On the day of our trip Jay picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the Canyonlands needle District. We can't see enough good things about our ghide Jay. He was informative, engaging, friendly, and really funny. We couldn't ask for a better guide. We stopped at various points and did two hikes in Canyonlands Totaling a little over 5 miles. Jay made it a point to keep the pace slow and easy. Wild West Voyages provided snacks, water, and a great lunch. We enjoyed our tour of the needles district so much that we immediately booked a white water rafting trip the following day. We spoke with Catherine at Wild West and she couldn't have been more helpful. She booked us for a rafting tour the very next day. We were pleasantly surprised the rates which we believe to be very reasonable.We recommend Wild West Voyoges to anyone who's thinking about taking a tour in and around Moab.

We arrived around 11am on a Thursday and got a walk up camping site (there were a few still available). There are 2 outhouses, our bathroom was very clean and well kept. There is no running water/sinks but they provide hand sanitizer. We could see the colorado river, however not all camp sites have the most clear view of it. There is a nice biking/ walking trail that you can take either way from the campsite. Don't forget bug spray as there is a lot of mosquitoes. There was plenty of room in our site for 2-3 tents.
