With our wonderful guide (in the back) - Sam!
Letie W.

1st rafting trip for my young kids (5 & 6 y/o). Had a blast! Highly recommend this company. Sam is amazing! Lots of history explained to us. If you're debating between a 1/2 day or full day trip...- do FULL day! We saw the 1/2 day people get off & for us it would have been too short.

Adam took us canyoneering today through Bow & Arrow. We had a really cool group of people and Adam kept the conversation going the whole time. Lots of information and fun facts. Then guided us all down the ridges with confidence. It was our first time and we were really nervous heading in but he did such a great job making it fun. Highly highly recommend this adventure.

Nathan made my birthday extra special. Super guide! We had the best time on the canyoneering adventure. Not for the faint of heart. 100+ degrees outside but we got in and got out of the canyon. If you love adventure and a heart pounding scare of 120ft drop this is for you. Cheers to 33. Thanks red river for the best time! Xo

Went Canyoneering with Red River Adventures today. They were fun and super knowledgeable. Absolutely loved it!

Red River Adventures is highly recommended! We had a great time with our guide Larry Harpe. He made this experience the highlight of our vacation. He spent the day leading us on an awesome adventure, canyoneering and climbing though the slot canyons of Moab. We learned a lot and made a new friend in Moab. We signed up for the two canyon combination, combining canyoneering at the Morning Glory arch in the morning with an afternoon of hiking and climbing through the Chamisa slot canyon. If you decide to do the same, make sure you get to sleep early, you'll need the rest.

Shout out to Sadie our amazing guide!

This company is by far the best in Moab due to their friendly and informative staff! The online checkin was easy and the staff was extremely helpful! Big shout out to Sadie who made our day enjoyable with her great wit and knowledge of the area! We will definitely be back!

3.6 miles to Morning Glory with two rappells.

My wife and I booked the Rim to River trip and were extremely pleased with both the hike, rappelling and the mellow splashy rafting trip. Andrew was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and kept an eye on our experience levels and set the pace accordingly. Red River books small groups with a guide. There were 5 of us plus Andrew. Unlike a lot of the other tour companies that will shove as many people that they can in a boat, Red River seemed to focus on the individual experience. I would highly recommend this tour company.

My family went on the Morning Glory Cayoneering trip with this outfit. First, the office staff and the staff answering the phone is top notch. I would give them 5 stars. Carl did a great job explaining our options, cost, etc on the phone. The check in process the day of the event the guy was really friendly and helpful as well. Unfortunately, the guides are not top notch. This is bad. Our guides were Adam and Evan. Adam was ok. However, Evan had other things to do besides be our guide. From the time the bus left headquarters until we got back on the van all he wanted to do is get home to watch the World Cup. The sprint of a trip was a huge disappointment. We never felt unsafe going down the ropes but going through the bolder field was a different story. There wasn't a guide in site. They were too busy setting up the next rappel. Many in the group had issues getting down the boulder field post the first rappel. Other people on the trip helped each other out but not a guide. I would not suggest this trip primary for this boulder field. It is not difficult if you have some experience with the outdoors and climbing. However, if you read the write up on this trip you would not expect this boulder field. I expect that if a guide had been there to help us through it, it would not have seemed so challenging. However, a bunch of people never out this way and many who this was their first time doing this sort of thing it was hard. Thankfully, my husband and another gentleman are big guys. They were able to physically help people off the rocks. Second rappel is nice. A great arch waits for you. Afterward there is about a two mile hike out of the area to the vans. It is easy enough. It was a bit of a sprit for us to keep up with Evan. Many times the group was broken into three sub groups. The group that could keep up with Evan. A middle group. Then the slower group which thankfully Adam stayed with. My husband and I were in the middle group. Many times we stopped and waited for Adam as there were forks in the road and we had no idea the way. Once we all caught up with Evan and his group waiting for us in the shade. As soon as we all got there he was off again. Hey guy. Maybe these guys in the back need a break? It is June in Moab. A tad warm. If you do this trip in the summer take more water than they tell you. My husband and I had five litters and drank every last drop. Overall, we will not use this outfit again. The experience wasn't worth the cost and we didn't like the attitude of the guide.

You can either meet at their location, where you can get some merch, sunscreen, use the facilities and ask any questions you have, or you can pay a small fee to get picked up from your location. From their place to the river, we did one of their raft tours, with 2 other couples we met there, and Josh, our guide. From beginning to end, Josh had a lot of information and history to share with us, and he made everything interesting and fun. He enjoyed answering questions, sharing his knowledge with us, and taking all the pictures we wanted. We even stopped for a quick hike on our tour (and those that didn't want to join were welcomed to stay on the raft). This was an amazing way to see a lot in a "short time" and learn.

I was searching on line and found Navtec. The river ride on the Colorado sounded like a great way to see the park. And it sure was, we nailed it. We arrived at their location downtown Moab a little while after checking into a hotel downtown. They offered to pick us up but it was a nice 10 minute walk to get to their office. It's a nice spot with plenty of last minute necessary's like sunscreen. Within minutes of rallying our group of 6 we were off to the launch point for the tour with our motorized blowup boat. We had a stop along the way at the great wall to see hieroglyphics. The boat ride was great, with information on spots and stories as well. Our guide Josh was excellent. Happy to say we had a great time.

We found that Wild West voyages was very responsive and gave us periodic updates prior to our trip. On the day of our trip Jay picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the Canyonlands needle District. We can't see enough good things about our ghide Jay. He was informative, engaging, friendly, and really funny. We couldn't ask for a better guide. We stopped at various points and did two hikes in Canyonlands Totaling a little over 5 miles. Jay made it a point to keep the pace slow and easy. Wild West Voyages provided snacks, water, and a great lunch. We enjoyed our tour of the needles district so much that we immediately booked a white water rafting trip the following day. We spoke with Catherine at Wild West and she couldn't have been more helpful. She booked us for a rafting tour the very next day. We are a family of 5 (3 kids age 15 to 20, mom, dad) who are writing this review together because…read morethe Cataract Canyon trip we just took with Sheri Griffiths was so spectacular,,, we really wanted to get this review right. First, a word about our guides, Zhanna and Addy. We hit the jackpot! They were funny (even our 15 year old laughed at their jokes), smart (they knew more about the insects, geology, history of the area than our 18 year old, which never happens), and creative problem-solvers (Addy is an actual boat mechanic, which came in handy when the motor wouldn't start - she was able to diagnose that the choke was sticking open, and fix it). Zhanna and Addy were constantly checking in with us to make sure we were hydrated, fed, reapplying sunscreen, staying cool, etc. Also, they worked incredibly hard, always putting our needs first, making sure we were safe/happy at all times. It was incredible to watch the two of them working like a well-oiled machine loading the boat in the morning, cooking dinner at night, and navigating the rapids with deep boating technical expertise. We had insane wind ("Uncle Gusty" on the river), but Addy and Zhanna stayed positive the whole time, even though it made everything harder for them -- picture (1) an epic battle to get the sun shield up in 50 mph winds because they were determined to protect our skin and (2) navigating rapids safely despite the gusts trying their hardest to throw us into the rocks. We also appreciated how they adapted over time as they got to know us and picked different hikes based on our interests. They took us to see more Ancestral Puebloan granaries when they saw how much we loved learning about the history from them - their respect for Native American history and culture was inspiring. Zhanna is a serious athlete who taught us how to catch the eddies while swimming (zooming) in circles around Airplane Eddy. Next, a word about the company. We picked Sheri Griffiths because they offered the length of trip we needed (2 nights, 3 days). Again, we hit the jackpot. Everything was impressively orchestrated. The orientation the night before was super helpful (would recommend your whole group attend). After reviewing everything from the trip plan to how to close a dry bag, Zhanna took drink orders and hit the grocery store later that night to buy us our favorite brand of seltzers. These personal touches throughout made all the difference! The food was delicious, plentiful, and constant. When we got off the boat, our driver was there watiing for us, and was another friendly guy who knew a ton about the area, and had lots of snacks and drinks for us. Finally, a word about the area. We were mesmerized by the beauty, the solitude, and the care with which everyone treated both the environment and eachother. We checked in with every boat we encountered to make sure all was well. We even grabbed a guide-friend of Addy's for a while to hitch a ride (he was on an 8-day solo trip, rowing the whole way). So, needless to say we are HUGE fans of Sheri Griffith, and even more so Zhanna and Addy. Thank you all for three days that we will never forget. You have set a high bar for any guided trips we take in the future!
