He was incredibly knowledgeable, not only about the river, but also the history, geology, wildlife, and the entire surrounding area. Every question we asked was met with an interesting answer, and his passion for what he does really shines through. Beyond that, Shaun was kind, funny, smart, and made everyone feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we launched. He struck the perfect balance between keeping us safe, sharing fascinating information, and making sure we were having an amazing time. By the end of the trip, it felt like we had spent the day with a friend. We can't wait to come back to Moab and do it again! When we do, we will absolutely be requesting Shaun as our guide. We even got in the water and floated thru the rapids at "swimmers rapids" and took some splashes in the face but it was still a ton of fun! It was warm out so getting splashed and in the water was refreshing! The smaller 6 person boats were the perfect size that you still got some bumps as you went thru the rapids vs the really huge boats some other companies had and it kept it to our family of 5.

To make matters worse, I was told that my cellphone with a waterproof case wasn't necessary, which resulted in a lack of up-close pictures. The scenery was breathtaking, and the experience overall was enjoyable. But if you're planning a trip, I'd recommend bringing your camera anyway for those perfect shots and ask from GRIFFIN! ‍

Unfortunately, the service we received felt very cold and unwelcoming. The staff answered our questions, but only with very minimal information, and it felt like I had to pry details out of them rather than receiving helpful guidance. There was no friendliness, no real enthusiasm, and no sense that they wanted to help first-time visitors have a good experience. The interaction came across as though they were only interested in completing the transaction. We spent about $350 to rent two bikes, and at that price I expected much better customer service. The bikes may have been fine, but the lack of helpful, friendly service left a disappointing impression.

After researching all the bike shops in Moab we landed on this one due to it being a small business and THE BEST price in town by a mile. I'm so glad we did. The owner was incredibly helpful & a joy to talk to. He made sure we road in the parking lot for a bit to make sure we were comfortable, and gave as a super helpful crash course on the bikes, their modes, and Moab itself. The bikes were in excellent condition and I wouldn't trade this experience for the world!! We road over 40 miles and had the bikes for ~7 hours and they still had TWO bars of battery when we got back. He threw in helmets and a bike lock to keep us safe. I can't express enough this is the place to go!!

We stayed at the BLM's Ken's Lake Campground for one night in early May, 2024. The campground is…read morepart of the Ken's Lake Recreation Area, which includes the namesake reservoir, the campground, and day use area. Boating is permitted, with electric motors only. Ken's Lake, which is about ten miles south of Moab, is a gorgeous area, with red rock fins to the east, sage brush flats to the south and west, and a reservoir to the north. The campground has two loops. Loop A can accommodate larger RVs, and require reservations through Recreation.gov or on-site through Scan and Pay if you've downloaded the Recreation.gov app. Note that there is almost no shade in this loop. Loop B is intended for smaller vehicles and tents. These are first-come, first served sites with payment thru Scan and Pay or by check or cash. Note that the campground is closed during the hottest summer months. See recreation.com for exact dates. We had a spacious, quiet non-electric site with gorgeous views. It was an easy walk down to the lake, and an easy drive to Arches National Park (15 miles?) The park was quiet overall but even more so when the day use patrons left for the day. There were clean restrooms, but no showers. The campground felt safe. The price for a site was reasonable, especially with a NPS Senior Interagency Pass. We would definitely stay here again.

It's pretty cool that you can basically drive right up to the shore & park. No lugging anything down to the water & back. Puppy friendly w/ leash. (No pups were leashed ) How could they swim ?!? And the lake is very puppy friendly. Lots of shallow shores. Lots of puppies swimming and on SUP's ! Zero amenities, Zero cel Svc., but two outdoor restroom units.! Only one had hand sanitizer. It's kinda out in the middle of nowhere so noise shouldn't be a problem. (7/7 & 7/8/23)
