Rarely do I write reviews, but I have to give a shout out to Mike and his local veteran run company. Thank you for the memories!! We had a blast on the 2 hour tour through the sand flats. I traveled with 4 boys who had the "best day ever". We also lucked out and saw the solar eclipse during our adventure.

Amazing experience in Southern Utah. We have been to Moab Utah many times and this is something we have never done. Highly recommend it. You get to see things tourists never get to see. The local owner has been exploring this area for over 30 years. He has great knowledge of local landmarks and hidden vantage points no one would dream of getting to see. If you want to get that photo that no one has and have an experience that, in my opinion, less than 1% of visitors will get, book this private tour. Another great thing is that they are by reservation only and your tour will not be burdened waiting for other tourists. Knowledgeable, experienced, safe, and a whole lot of fun!

We happened to see a Big Iron Tour's truck on the street in downtown Moab so we looked 'em and called. The owner Mike is a lifelong Moab resident. He knows and respects the off road trails. We made a stop where he pointed out fossilized dinosaur tracks. Cool! Mike mixes in his vast knowledge of the area with his off road expertise and humor. Riding along as a passenger allows you to take in all the scenery and get tons of information. An experience you won't get if you rent a vehicle to drive yourself.

Mike is honestly an incredible host and even though some of his material was dad jokes, he made those funny. The tour itself was brilliant and our whole group had an amazing time. Our group was a lot of former military and many of us are adrenaline junkies so when I first saw a tour truck I wasn't sure what to think. There's always the possibility of things being completely lame when it comes to anything guided or tourism oriented. This was RAD. So much fun, so knowledgeable, and Mike was perfect for the job. Thanks, Mike.

Retro-fitted Military ATV is different from the typical ATVs one would take in an off-road tour.

We took the 2-hour morning tour before it got too hot and were picked up at our hotel. in the military ATV which is definitely a different experience than your standard off-road vehicle! Our guide, Mike, was great - he had extensive knowledge of the area, made the tour feel more personalized, and answered all of our questions. Extremely funny guy, too! The actual off-road experience was amazing. We went up some serious inclines and narrow roads. The ATV is an open-air military vehicle, which made the experience very unique. I've done a number of off-road tours in different parks and in your run-of-the-mill ATVs, but this was definitely the best. We selected this tour above all and without hesitation because it's Veteran-Owned. I'm all about supporting our vets and small businesses. The next time we're in Moab, we'll definitely do the sunset tour with Big Iron!

Better than advertised!! Mike is the owner, a great tour guide, a great driver, a veteran, and a native of Moab, Utah - he was an amazing chauffeur in the baddest battle cruiser on the Moab trails!! We had such a great time crawling on Fins & Things then on Slick Rock ti watch the sunset last night!!! It's a fantastic adventure when you come to Moab and Big Iron Tours is the companies to use

We had a little bit of snow, so prior to leaving, we discussed the most desirable routes off road to take that we can have fun, see some sights, but not run into any treacherous situations. Early morning was a little frosty and as it warmed up a little muddy, but after grabbing lunch in town we took to Chicken Corners and was pretty bone dry. Drop off was easy. (Due to the mud) We gave her a quick bath at one of the local car washes before returning it. I would 100% recommend Slick Rock as a UTV rental company and will be coming back in the future.

Fine if you just want to save money, but not ideal for comfort or overall experience. I've rented UTVs in Moab several times over the years, including guided tours, private tours, and self rentals, so I have a good baseline for comparison. The main advantage of this place is the price. It was noticeably lower than other rental companies in town, which is ultimately why I chose it. However, in this case, you do get what you pay for. I rented a 4 door Polaris for a full day, and the vehicle quality was significantly below what I've experienced elsewhere in Moab. The suspension felt very rough. You could feel every bump and rock, which made the ride uncomfortable and at times left us feeling sore and even a bit nauseous. Trails that are typically enjoyable, like Fins n Things, felt much harsher than they should. In comparison, other UTVs I've rented handled similar terrain much more smoothly. This vehicle also appeared to have worn tires and needed an alignment. Another factor to consider is the location. The shop is about 15 minutes south of downtown Moab. While that may not sound like much, it does add up, especially if you are paying by the hour. More importantly, you have to drive on a public highway to get into town, and the vehicles do not have windshields. That stretch can be extremely cold and very windy, which made the ride back and forth pretty uncomfortable. Overall, this could be a fit if your top priority is saving money and you are okay with a more basic experience. But if comfort, vehicle quality, and overall experience are important to you, there are better options in Moab worth considering.

Epic 4x4 Adventures nailed it from start to finish. We hit some serious traffic with the Easter Jeep Safari in town, but Thor navigated around the congestion like a pro -- pivoting on the fly and actually turning the detour into the highlight of the trip. Baby Lion's Back was my personal favorite: a great climb, an even better descent, and some fun sand berms to cap it off. My kids (11 and 14) were loving every second of it. Thor clearly knows this terrain cold -- he guided us confidently over every obstacle and made sure we always felt safe without sacrificing any of the excitement. My wife occasionally deals with motion sickness and had zero issues, which honestly says a lot about how smoothly he ran the route. If you're in Moab and want a guide who knows when to stick to the plan and when to ditch it for something better -- ask for Thor.
