The Moab Reservation Center is FANTASTIC. I went on an xtreme 4x4 ride and this is a MUST DO when you are visiting Moab. This was an amazing experience that allows you to see all of the beauty Moab has to offer - stunning views of the entire area! This was also FUN, for anyone who likes a little adventure - this is an experience you will not forget. From start to finish, this experience was professionally run. What made this even better was our guide Gerrit. Gerrit was knowledgeable, funny, an excellent driver and made this a truly memorable experience. I would recommend this to anyone coming to the area and am looking forward to doing it again. Side note - cup holders in the vehicles would be a great add :)

Me (28) and my mom (56) did the 9am U Drive UTV tour with tour guide Kevin. We really didn't know what to expect, but we wanted something thrilling yet doable for two people who have never driven a UTV. The person taking our reservation promised it would be both. THIS TOUR DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! The tour was easily one of the highlights of our trip, we had so much fun. It was just the right amount of danger to get your adrenaline pumping but also completely safe and easy to do if you have never driven before. Our tour guide, Kevin, was informative and funny. He told the best stories and truly made the experience memorable. We climbed over big rocks, rendezvoused at beautiful lookouts, and even stopped to see the bigger vehicles do some impressive obstacles. I would recommend this tour to anyone and would do it again if I ever go back to Moab. As a side note, I am only about 5 feet tall with shoes on and I was able to drive the UTV just fine. Steep inclines were a little jerky because I didn't have extra leg length to keep constant pressure on the gas but still managed just fine. I know this was one of my worries before booking so just something to note.

This is the one thing your family will remember and talk about for years on your trip. I promise that after days of parks and hikes, you need to bite the bullet and book the extreme 4x4 trip. My husband planed this for our family and although the boys were so excited, I was not! We had Garret for our driver and hands down he was the best. It is the most thrilling thing I've probably ever done. I would never have picked this but I can tell you when visiting Moab, everyone should do this. IMPORTANT: Yes it's expensive, but the people that opted to do the other tours where they drive themselves, or just a guided 4x4 were in awe of what we were doing. Spend the money and do this right. It's a once in a lifetime experience. We would literally pass them sideways, and they were taking pictures of us! There would be a clear path to go and Garret took us on the most insane, oddly defying route he could but I promise he handled it masterfully and we never felt like he didn't have control. We did the 3 hour sunset Hells Revenge Tour and he made 3 stops for us to get out and take it all in. Best trip ever!

Just got done with a 4hr UTV guided tour and had a blast! Kevin was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the landscape and trail features. Made multiple stops to take in the sights and switch drivers. Going into it, I figured we'd be on some trails but this is true off roading with some steep inclines and varying terrain. Will definitely come back again if I'm in Moab in the future! Oh and we got water and snacks too.

So happy I found this tour! Aaron was fun and daring, and knew every inch of the trail. Best tour so far!!

This custom made 4x4 was Awesome - What a Blast - Thanks Dave

I've been wanting to take the family to Moab for years, but they had work and school so I decided to go on a 'fact finding' week to know where to go and what to do when we came back with the whole family (ok, ok - so I went so I could do what I wanted and wouldn't hear any complaints from the teenagers). I lined up a 4x4 tour with Moab Reservation Center and it WAS AWESOME! Dave was our driver/tour guide and we went on Hell's Revenge at the Sand Flats Rec Area. The custom 4x4 they built based on a Chevy Suburban chassis (I think) was a BEAST and Dave gave us all (I went w a family of 5) a 2 hr trip we'll never forget. The kids that came kept saying 'Again, again' to Dave & he knew how to give us all a fun and Extreme ride that had us all laughing and saying 'Wow! I can't believe we just did that!.' Pictures or videos don't do the ride justice. Dave, Stephanie and their team are Great at what they do and you'll be thrilled if you do one of their Extreme 4x4 tours. I know we're booking them when we come back with the whole family. Thanks Dave and Stephanie (who by now, should've added another li'l one to their family - Congrats!)

My boyfriend and I signed up to do an extreme 4x4 tour as we were passing through Moab. Best decision we ever made! Dave, our tour guide, was beyond incredible. We ended up being the only two who signed up for a tour, so Dave took us around and let us see absolutely everything. He was so kind and so funny. He made us feel totally safe and truly became someone we enjoyed spending time with. This company is extremely lucky to have someone like him working for them! Give this man a raise! We will absolutely be back and will be requesting Dave specifically. You'll never see views like these anywhere else! So worth every second

We had a little bit of snow, so prior to leaving, we discussed the most desirable routes off road to take that we can have fun, see some sights, but not run into any treacherous situations. Early morning was a little frosty and as it warmed up a little muddy, but after grabbing lunch in town we took to Chicken Corners and was pretty bone dry. Drop off was easy. (Due to the mud) We gave her a quick bath at one of the local car washes before returning it. I would 100% recommend Slick Rock as a UTV rental company and will be coming back in the future.

Fine if you just want to save money, but not ideal for comfort or overall experience. I've rented UTVs in Moab several times over the years, including guided tours, private tours, and self rentals, so I have a good baseline for comparison. The main advantage of this place is the price. It was noticeably lower than other rental companies in town, which is ultimately why I chose it. However, in this case, you do get what you pay for. I rented a 4 door Polaris for a full day, and the vehicle quality was significantly below what I've experienced elsewhere in Moab. The suspension felt very rough. You could feel every bump and rock, which made the ride uncomfortable and at times left us feeling sore and even a bit nauseous. Trails that are typically enjoyable, like Fins n Things, felt much harsher than they should. In comparison, other UTVs I've rented handled similar terrain much more smoothly. This vehicle also appeared to have worn tires and needed an alignment. Another factor to consider is the location. The shop is about 15 minutes south of downtown Moab. While that may not sound like much, it does add up, especially if you are paying by the hour. More importantly, you have to drive on a public highway to get into town, and the vehicles do not have windshields. That stretch can be extremely cold and very windy, which made the ride back and forth pretty uncomfortable. Overall, this could be a fit if your top priority is saving money and you are okay with a more basic experience. But if comfort, vehicle quality, and overall experience are important to you, there are better options in Moab worth considering.

Epic 4x4 Adventures nailed it from start to finish. We hit some serious traffic with the Easter Jeep Safari in town, but Thor navigated around the congestion like a pro -- pivoting on the fly and actually turning the detour into the highlight of the trip. Baby Lion's Back was my personal favorite: a great climb, an even better descent, and some fun sand berms to cap it off. My kids (11 and 14) were loving every second of it. Thor clearly knows this terrain cold -- he guided us confidently over every obstacle and made sure we always felt safe without sacrificing any of the excitement. My wife occasionally deals with motion sickness and had zero issues, which honestly says a lot about how smoothly he ran the route. If you're in Moab and want a guide who knows when to stick to the plan and when to ditch it for something better -- ask for Thor.

First, a word about our guides, Zhanna and Addy. We hit the jackpot! They were funny (even our 15 year old laughed at their jokes), smart (they knew more about the insects, geology, history of the area than our 18 year old, which never happens), and creative problem-solvers (Addy is an actual boat mechanic, which came in handy when the motor wouldn't start - she was able to diagnose that the choke was sticking open, and fix it). Zhanna and Addy were constantly checking in with us to make sure we were hydrated, fed, reapplying sunscreen, staying cool, etc. Also, they worked incredibly hard, always putting our needs first, making sure we were safe/happy at all times. It was incredible to watch the two of them working like a well-oiled machine loading the boat in the morning, cooking dinner at night, and navigating the rapids with deep boating technical expertise. We had insane wind ("Uncle Gusty" on the river), but Addy and Zhanna stayed positive the whole time, even though it made everything harder for them -- picture (1) an epic battle to get the sun shield up in 50 mph winds because they were determined to protect our skin and (2) navigating rapids safely despite the gusts trying their hardest to throw us into the rocks. We also appreciated how they adapted over time as they got to know us and picked different hikes based on our interests. They took us to see more Ancestral Puebloan granaries when they saw how much we loved learning about the history from them - their respect for Native American history and culture was inspiring. Zhanna is a serious athlete who taught us how to catch the eddies while swimming (zooming) in circles around Airplane Eddy. Next, a word about the company. We picked Sheri Griffiths because they offered the length of trip we needed (2 nights, 3 days). Again, we hit the jackpot. Everything was impressively orchestrated. The orientation the night before was super helpful (would recommend your whole group attend). After reviewing everything from the trip plan to how to close a dry bag, Zhanna took drink orders and hit the grocery store later that night to buy us our favorite brand of seltzers. These personal touches throughout made all the difference! The food was delicious, plentiful, and constant. When we got off the boat, our driver was there watiing for us, and was another friendly guy who knew a ton about the area, and had lots of snacks and drinks for us. Finally, a word about the area. We were mesmerized by the beauty, the solitude, and the care with which everyone treated both the environment and eachother. We checked in with every boat we encountered to make sure all was well. We even grabbed a guide-friend of Addy's for a while to hitch a ride (he was on an 8-day solo trip, rowing the whole way). So, needless to say we are HUGE fans of Sheri Griffith, and even more so Zhanna and Addy. Thank you all for three days that we will never forget. You have set a high bar for any guided trips we take in the future!
